I’m impressed at how not crap these are. Just returning to the hobby in middle age, so I’d never heard of them until a couple of months ago. The only thing I don’t like about them is what they mean for older brands like Tamiya. Tamiya clearly run on bigger profit margins than WL Toys, with plastic friction shocks at this price point, but perhaps spend more time on the looks of their buggies, usually with a nicer shape and decals etc. I much prefer the look of Tamiya stuff, but these seem to perform better...
Those tires are for off-road Phil, they are for hard-packed dirt tracks for racing. Anytime you get a small pin tire like that is is to give the vehicle grip on the harder dirt tracks. Great video my friend, Keep up the good work.
I'm not sure what happened to the end of this video... who's gonna watch the 40s of nothing haha. Feel free to grab me a Coffee while you wait: www.buymeacoffee.com/TomleyRC
Yeah I'm not digging this one. There's so many competitors at ten scale. But at 14 there's only the associated buggy but that one is brushless and only $199
Just waiting for mine to arrive from banggood. It was delayed... but I’m still excited. Already ordered new tires and a brushless system for it also. Love your channel...
lol yup, pups LOVE chasing RC cars. overall mechanically it looks fair enough, definitely needs a center slipper spur gear to help save from breaking/twisting drive line parts. the other possible is front+rear ball diffs, slip a dog bone out to adjust the tension, no little planetary gears to get broken. some older belt driven AWD's used them, they run fast+smooth+quiet without any bevel gears, drive cups+shafts etc. if they want to up their game that'd do it! I do like the older style buggy bodies better with the cab near+over the rear shock tower, the newer little scrunchy mid forward style cabs just look weird to me. front rims+tires could be a little wider and all 4 tires a little more aggressive for running carpet clay or dirt. carpet and clay do like sharp point mini pin spikes, but those don't last very long on dirt and clay.
I just bought a 14 scale and notice the drivetrain is very tinny. The axles and dogbones need a coating because it's metal on metal.. Cheap zinc Also lot of play in the front wheels. Other then that it's a nice car. Motor gets hot pretty quick. Don't want to buy brushless for it because then it will cost $150 to $200 same as associated buggy
Got one of these on order, hopefully it'll arrive soon. I must say though that I do like your reviews/vids mate. Clear & to the point, no nonsence or overly ridiculous lets try & destroy it antics. @@TomleyRC yeah i have 2 144001's that are great for me...i put drift wheels on one...
Is LC racing just rebranded Wltoys? I'm quite confused
LC Racing is much better quality
3 wire servos please, you got it dead right.
Yes... why put a 5 wire in!
Nice video 👍 I’m fairly new to your channel I just want to let you know that I love watching your videos you have a lot of great info thank you keep it up 👍👊💯✌️
Cheers mate... appreciate the support 👍
Besides the slightly bigger scale, would this roller be any better to go brushless on than the 124019? I have a castle 4600kv and Sw4 to toss in one of em but I actually cant decide which for some reason.
I think I prefer the 124019 over this... it’s a bit more ‘exciting’ 👍
Soooo im wondering where i my money should go???... i knew this would be good when it finally was released, but i also really like the ftx zorro. Id upgrade to brushless on them if i got one or the other but wonderd what you or other folks wich one would you choose?? T.i.a
Mines on processing Bangood 😝
You've become a bit matter of fact lately m8? 😊 Wait come to think of it you always have been 😂🤣🇬🇧🙉
RUclips has taught me over the last few years that it doesn’t matter what you say... or do.. you will never please everyone. So I’m just being my normal self now haha. Well... I’ve been pretty much my normal self from the start. 😅
@@TomleyRC like it😊 I think it takes a while to find your groove😎 and your smooth sailing now👍
@@TomleyRC bingo, never worry about what others think, be yourself.
if they don't like it let them buy some play-dough to try and shape,
along with the crayola's, in their little safe space!
It would be interested if someone rocked up with this at pro race, against Losi, and Team Accociated ect..🤔
They could rock up with one against top brands an get flogged every race if they wanted to I guess 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
The specs say 255 mm width? Is that true? If so that's a big mistake by WL as the maximum legal width for racing is 250 mm.
I’ll have to measure it and see. Might be to do with the wheel offsets
@@TomleyRC It needs to be under 250mm with handout wheels (standard Schumacher usually).
Nice and i already have 144001,still standard. But the new 104 in that scale are great and got plenty space for upgrades/modifications 👍nice review, greetings from 🇲🇾
Yes, I’m sure lots will but and upgrade
Try to fit a 1/8 or 1/7 brushless system in it, see if it goes 107 like the big rock xD
I’m not sure it would take it lol
If I buy this one,it'll only be used for racing purposes, not bashing. I still have the L303 2wd buggy that they did.
I wouldn't get this for racing. No center slipper or diff. No toe & squat adjustments... poor "alloy" materials. This is a huge fail for being a racing buggy. Possibly for bashing too with a brushless system. Stuff is going to break without a slipper.
I've raced quite a few buggies in the past that didn't have slippers, you just need to make sure that you're not on the throttle when landing jumps.
Is there any mod available to fit a bigger size battery in there?
1/14 and 1/12 are better sizes for a buggy... This looks fine but at that price you can get a traxxas bandit
Will it take 3s stock
I have seen some other use a 3s but don't completely recommend it, it runs on the hot side.
I have seen others do it yeah
Great vid!! Very interesting car!! Looks to be great make upgrades and mods with this rig. I like a lot the size!! Have a gret day Bro!!
Yes, I think many people will upgrade
Any concerns about the durability of this buggy when it comes to jumping, considering it doesn't have a slipper clutch or a center diff?
Its good the barbers are open again isn't it?
Yes 😎🤘
@@TomleyRC 1000%
maybe bangood after watching this video will also send you some doggy treats when you're out on your adventures. :-). hahaha! that is a neat looking buggy and one that i'll need to have a look at.
