Based on my experience if you are a car geek who’s got the tools and ability to service your own car, it is likely that 80% of your existing kit (torx/hex keys), torque wrench etc etc is useable on a high end riese and muller, which means that the cost of maintaining your bike will not be prohibitive to begin with. You would need a select few specialist tools such as chain whip and breaker, chainring nut remover etc but they wouldn’t be mad money. And then, you would have both options of car and Ebike to choose depending on what you need to do.
Great examples of real world VS's I will add that if your torn about cargo bikes or like me don't have a cycle 2 work scheme standard commuter with some decent luggage is a great value. £130 for a pair of Ortliebs gives you 40L of space. Then get the cargo bike if needed once the next c2w comes about, or you've put away that petrol money. Great to see this type of vid from you guys, UK could do with more channels like Propel.

My R&M e bike was stolen in 5 months ,I loss 9800 pound . My bike have GPS tracker but police do nothing , I know my bike just inside the house but the police just say they can,t go inside private house. After 1 month the GPS tracker run out battery I loss my bike forver .
Hi Pete, we're so sorry to hear about this. Did you not have a gold standard insured lock and had taken out eBike insurance at all? We would highly recommend this for a Riese & Muller, as we do with all eBikes that we supplier, despite it being not- mandatory.
Ebike will still cost you money, comparatively less then car, of course. There's no point dropping 3.5k on an E-BIKE!! Realistically no one should spend more than £1500-2000 for a quality E bike, companies have become way too comfortable slapping a price more than a Motorbike or old cars

Whilst £1500-2000 will get you an eBike, it's probable that both its level of production and eBike system have been built for profitability's sake and at the behest of the end-consumer. We find on regular weekly occurrences that customers arrive to us at Fully Charged with such products, who ultimately can't get the support they need, and then subsequently need something that lasts! We know spending above 2K on an eBike is a significant investment, but at this price point you will be buying a bike that can last for many years, allowing you to save money in the long run from minimal spend on replacing parts AND from ditching the petrol! All of the manufactures in this video use reputable integrated systems, including Bosch and Mahle - so you can be sure you'd be getting your money's worth! Thanks for your thoughts.
@@FullychargedUK You got a point though. But I don’t feel the justification of of slapping 3.5k-4.0k price tag for 250W bike. What do the offer apart from the fact that it will last a decade? One may not want to use a bicycle for 10 years! It's still a bicycle and you are going to have to do some maintenance for last long

Whilst such purchases are a significant initial investment, the higher price tag does pay off in the end as you save on the costs of replacements/servicing due to the quality of the electrical components in-particular. In addition, the electric bikes that feature in this video do offer a lot more than just your average non-electrical bike too; due to the assistance provided you can go further, expend less energy and carry cargo. All whilst feeling healthier, happier, and with less time spent in traffic! And yes you're right, they will require some maintenance! However due to the reputable components, the amount needed will be minimal and less than the cost of using a car, tube or train over a year, making the initial investment worth while.
