Most people think old cars are supposed to cold start that way. Actually they start and drive immediately if everything is in order. Just press the gas pedal to the floor once to activate the choke, then start. That said, I always crank until oil pressure is there and then activate the choke (start).
What choke? And mechanical fuel pump! It takes me a few cranks to start my 66 383 Charger unless I start her frequently. And if have performance parts it's totally different.
Not if they have headers and giant carbs. If they sit for a while it takes a few seconds to get the gas from the fuel tank to the carb. Once they are warm it's no problem.

Sounds like my 64 Galaxie fastback with a 401FE and 3" exhaust with Flowmasters. Too much popping and snapping for me. Nothing really wrong here, I just put some Dynomax super turbo mufflers on it and the popping went away, but I can still hear the Howards Cams hydraulic roller cam 286 292 dur and 560 lift.
Beautiful car, but that choke needs a proper sorting. That car should start in 2 or 3 seconds of turning, and then be on the fast idle. After a minute or so, kick down the fast idle to the middle detant in the choke cam. I have lots of experience with Chrysler carburetors, both the Holley and Carter carbs.

Yes you would!
1967? Nice ride. Sounds like a car should sound. One of the best sounding cold starts I have ever heard. Popping & snapping love it
this calms my severe anxiety so much.
I appreciate the freak that you don't rev the freak out of it. Oil has gotta get into the cylinders
BB Mopars are like a lot of women, they don't like to wake up and when they do they are grouchy but once they warm up, almost unstoppable.
You're an idiot if you rev a cold car, especially one that has been sitting for a while in a cold environment.
It's not a 2 stroke. You need to worry about the cam bearings and rockershafts. The crank should get its oil pretty quickly.
I love the sound of Mopar starters!
