    That is John's voice. They found a recording that John made. The problem was they had remove the back ground music. So they can rerecord it with Paul and Ringo.

      Yeah, I was under the impression that the AI was an advanced noise reduction/background removal system rather than recreating his voice. Maybe it's a combination of the two. Very interesting question. I'm not a big fan of the recreation thing. Don't think John Lennon would care for technology that could make him say anything it wants.

    When record labels decide that they no longer need to sign artist but can go to an engineer and have AI generate an album based on Beyoncé’s, Taylor Swift’s or Rolling Stones sounds and writing style then we will see the bigger issue.

    In a non-AI recording of my grandmother telling me she loves me, that's not her either really. And that's not an argumentative rhetorical point I'm trying to make. It's just a side thought.
    There's been many people or cultures over time that have struggled say, with reconciling the reproduction of a voice in a recording with identity and understanding. If we all recall our early life comprehensions of pre-existing technologies and the internal negotiations/epiphanies that went with them, we mayyy find some breadcrumbs to inform how we can utilise AI ethically and comfortably. The financials are another question and I don't have many forethoughts there. Of course, money is already part of this equation while we're still getting our heads around everything as a collective, and that's difficult but probably normal.

    The late polymath and futurist, Terence McKenna, said about AI in an interview 25 years ago, "If it doesn't have the ethics of Buddha, the human race may be down for the count." Ten, nine, eight...
    AI has the ethics of its creators, i.e. pretty much devoid of any. The creators are overwhelmingly male with the wisdom and maturity of adolescent boys, which is how they typically stay into "adult"hood, as evidenced by countless comments I've seen online.

    That is what artists said about photography back in the day.

    • @poorboyjim6392
      @poorboyjim6392 7 месяцев назад +3

      The difference is that photographers can't use an artist's work to make money without compensating them. And the reverse is true. Witness the Lynn Goldberg vs Andy Warhol estate court decision. An artist can't use a photographer's work without compensation, either.

    • @AmbietsRato
      @AmbietsRato 7 месяцев назад +1

      In the early days of photography, painters and illustration drawers were often wary of this new medium because it threatened their livelihoods. Photography could capture reality with precision and in less time than it took to paint or draw a scene. This raised concerns among artists about the potential loss of demand for their work. Additionally, there was some skepticism about whether photography could be considered a true art form, as it was initially seen as merely a mechanical process rather than a creative endeavor requiring skill and talent. However, over time, many artists embraced photography as a new tool for artistic expression, and it eventually became recognized as a legitimate art form in its own right. Now switch the word photography with AI. See what I mean?

  • @Califah45

    I will say this. AI can copy an artist down to his manorisms. U can use AI to copy the artist to a tee, but the one thing AI will and can not capture is their soul. Artists like NeYo put their heart and soul into the music they create, and AI will never be able to capture that part of the music and writing process

    This is stealing someone's identity to make money. Lennon's voice wasn't used to honor him, it was a money grab. The rich and famous are so lazy they can't even be bothered to find new artist, just imitate and regurgitate classics. This is a bad use of A.I.

    I like NE-YO, but the same could be said for someone who builds cars by hand. Nowadays, we have robots and programmed computers that can accomplish the same tasks much more quickly. AI is the next step in this evolution. If governments genuinely wanted to help people, instead of investing in the military, they would develop technologies that would enable people to live without financial difficulties.

    Funny to me that rappers, who are notorious for stealing aka “sampling” music tracks from other artists to use as their own, are complaining about AI stealing their stuff 😂

    Threat to artists not music. It seems pretty simple and easily solved with updates to copyright law surrounding AI.

    He comes from an industry built on IP theft. His arguments might have resonance IF he made them in 1980 but remix after remix destroyed creativity a long time ago.

    I am guessing that this man says that Michael bublé is not an artist but does the same thing as a AI does and copy other artists. But according to me I belive all artist steal from the past or do an homage to those who came before. Because no artist come from a vacuum and haven't heard and learned from former artists and musicians. If an artist belive that they are the ultimate and have no part from others I belive they are a bit disillusioned.

    It just means that artist have to work harder to stay relevant and be creative. The entertainment industry promote and peddle artist to the point where it's just gross. A.I. only becomes the problem when it threatens the artist and the music industries pockets. A.I. however can be an efficient tool in producing and song writing, less time in the studio, artist can develop and create more content. And the who the hell is Ne Yo

    Sign 'o the times, baby... Sign o' the times. You better speak, Shaffer Chimere! It's so sad that this is where we're at, musically. AI is slowly, but surely phasing out certain channels right here on RUclips. On the music side though, it's coming... Yeah man, it's coming. AI is a symptom of the carelessness of music. Why bother paying a new "artist" that's not gon here for too long when we can use AI? Why bother paying a Brian McKnight X-Y-Z when we can do it on this computer for free? You seem to be a pure artist, Shaffer Chimere, but w/ the way things are going, it almost feels like it's all for nothing. Think about it. Hell, AI is gon replace AT (auto tune). Turn on the radio or however you consume music and pretty much everything already sounds like AI due to the excessive use of auto tune. Listen to Mariah Carey's latest concert. She legit sounds like a prerecorded computer. Music is free nowadays. AI just seems more convenient. I listen to music from the '70, '80 and '90s and I'm completely satisfied. I know it's not gon be no AI, JI, RI, QI. I know that when I listen to Mr. Al Green, it's gon be Mr. Al Green. When I listen to Ms. Kelly Price, it's gon be Ms. Kelly Price. And it's as simple as that.
