BS…lots of people take young people under their wing for true and honest good reasons that are not evil. There’s a program here in Canada which I believe originated in NY, USA called Big Brother and Sisters where adults volunteer to help out under privileged kids. There’s a lot of people out there that want to do good and some of them do good. Sadly we’re only slowly realizing that there’s a fair amount of evil out there too. But never let evil people make you forget about kind and good people. It’s crucial to be aware of both. ❤
Same in our household. We kind of made fun of him when he was getting headlines for bad behavior.as a teenager. We feel just awful about it now. As parents we should have seen the warning signs. Of course he was acting out drinking and disturbing the peace. He was burying the pain and trauma. He was failed by his mom and the adults around him in the industry who were complicit. The entertainment industry is dangerous. Where there are kids there are predators. I hope Justin finds the peace and joy he deserves.

I would say the great he went through severely outweighs the bad. We all go through stressful times in life and careers. He just happened to go through a lot of them early. I'm a 52 year old man, obviously not the demographic Bieber and his music caters to, and I always wrote him off for being a spoiled brat, too much money, too much fame etc. My attitude towards him has changed in recent years. I forgot how I was like at his age, not an angel and the feeling entitlement from the privilege of growing up in a middle class upbringing. His story about being used by everyone who wanted to get their chunk of the pie is such a common evil that young kids experience when fame and fortune is thrust upon them. He seems to have come through it rather well. He's a very nice young man and I hope that any emotional wounds he picked up along the way have healed. As a fellow Canadian, I'm very proud of this young man and what he's managed to do with his life. And Justin in the off chance you see this, I want to admit that not ALL of your music is crap! Very proud of you buddy.
I feel bad for hating on him as a kid. I don’t listen to his music like that nowadays but finding out he was taken advantage of getting into a world he dreamed of has to be a different level of pain. I hope that he can recover from his past trauma.

I was listening to Lonely the other day around my kids and my son asked why he sounded so sad. I gave him the soft version of the horror he endured. My son looked at me and said, "I wish I could go back in time and help him." His innocence and need to help is a blessing in this house. As a black kid, I was highly uncomfortable listening to what our culture called "music". The violence. The sexual depravity and lust filled lyrics and seeing people all around you gyrating and dry humping all over the place.. I couldn't. I got so bullied for listening to every genre but rap and rnb but I've learned over the years WHY it made me uncomfortable. The holy Spirit is a Godsend- giving me discernment when I didn't even understand yet. Today, my kids aren't allowed to listen to what I grew up with and what others in my culture think is music today. And they're better off for it!

When I was young I used to hate Justin because he would hang around older women and I would be jealous that he had all these grown adults around him. Now knowing that hanging with older adults lead to his traumas, I truly feel for him. It’s not always bright when you look at it, you have to see it from a different perspective. I felt for Justin every time I saw his face. He seemed always sad , scared and shamed despite his success. Now I totally understand why I felt so, as I was sexually abused as a kid. I had been living with shame, guilt and self doubt for long time as a kid and teen. But I live happily now with confidence after I shared my story with my mom what happened to me when I was 25. It took time to heal. But healing comes after face to our root cause. When I was asked to put my little kids to TV industry by my friends, I refused immediately and cut relationship. I have responsibility to protect my kids and love. We want kids to feel safe and loved.

I was never a fan of Justin's music and thought he sounded like a punk by some of the things he's done in the past, but regardless seeing him get emotional and thinking about how he was just a teenager when he was subjected to presumably some pretty awful stuff is something that no kid (or person) should have to endure! I'm glad he's grown up so much and has a beautiful wife and baby and hope they have a super happy life together.

He seems to have come through it rather well. He's a very nice young man and I hope that any emotional wounds he picked up along the way have healed.

I was listening to Lonely the other day around my kids and my son asked why he sounded so sad. I gave him the soft version of the horror he endured.
My son looked at me and said, "I wish I could go back in time and help him." His innocence and need to help is a blessing in this house.
As a black kid, I was highly uncomfortable listening to what our culture called "music". The violence. The sexual depravity and lust filled lyrics and seeing people all around you gyrating and dry humping all over the place.. I couldn't. I got so bullied for listening to every genre but rap and rnb but I've learned over the years WHY it made me uncomfortable. The holy Spirit is a Godsend- giving me discernment when I didn't even understand yet. Today, my kids aren't allowed to listen to what I grew up with and what others in my culture think is music today. And they're better off for it!

I always loved Justin's songs and never liked when people would talk mess or even when he was going through all "crazy" phases. People would be like oh he's crazy he needs to stop acting like that. And all I would say would be. Don't be talking about Justin. You don't know what kinda pain he's in. Who knows what those pop stars have to endure to get to fame especially when it's not even then making the decisions. As a Christian you feel sympathy for all people no matter what they seem to portray. Because nobody but God knows the true heart. Whether it's pain, sadness, or evil. People can seem like such good people but inside their hearts are filled with evil and hatred. That's why it's important not to judge by outward appearances.

I feel bad because ppl chose to see him in a terrible light when he was going,Thru, his struggles and not seeing him as someone lashing out for what has been done wrong to him. I’m glad now he is doing good with himself and has family now. Has a wife who he can count on to be there for him in the difficult times. Has showm it’s possible to start a family and grow from it. This taking advantage of and abusing young kids wasn't just prevalent in the hip hop industry, it was everywhere people with power were! Look at Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley. Did they not pray on minors?? 30 years ago Sam Cook wrote a song about sex with a 16 year old. Even Joan Jett sang about having a one night stand with an underage boy. It's NOT just hip hop. I was never a fan of Justin's music and thought he sounded like a punk by some of the things he's done in the past, but regardless seeing him get emotional and thinking about how he was just a teenager when he was subjected to presumably some pretty awful stuff is something that no kid (or person) should have to endure! I'm glad he's grown up so much and has a beautiful wife and baby and hope they have a super happy life together.
I would NEVER trust my child to go around the world with celebrities and not have me there to protect them. His mom was too trusting of strangers. Im sure she lives with lots of regrets.
