Everyone hated this game when it came out, much like they did with FFXIII. Nowadays people are calling it the best in the franchise. This just proves that nearly every final Fantasy game is a solid entry, and has their place in the franchise. Even FFII.

How is reducing the price of a console to be more affordable not even considered a good excuse? Besides, I doubt that backwards compatibility was the only reason as to why the PS3 was expensive at the time. The 3DS & Wii U consoles are backwards compatible and they didn't cost that much. It was also the hardware they stuffed inside being new and trying to be the strongest console at the time.
The architecture of the ps2 was not cheap at launch of the ps3 as it was literally using a miniature version of the chips inside the ps2. The cell architecture was very expensive and was more expensive than the cost of the ps3 at launch without BC. Removing Software based BC was not necessary. Hardware BC makes sense in reducing manufacturing costs. Also Wii architecture was low cost and cheap when the wii was released with the only expensive thing being the motion control wii remotes at the time. When the wii u released the wii architecture was very affordable to replicate and place inside. The wii architecture is literally beefed up gamecube architecture. Literally. There was a 10 year gap for the hardware to drop to an inexpensive price. idk anything about 3ds though but remember them being pretty damn high for a portable console at time of release. I remember it having a real quick price drop. Nintendo is an amazing company for sticking to BC though. It is nice using my wii games and remotes on my wii u

Rhys Lyle dude seriously? I mean NATIVE EMULATION. As in off of the disc. They have had ps2 games on there for a few years now. But that doesn't help me play the 25 ps2 games I own on it without paying 10$ each. I still own a functioning ps2 though. Also yes I know about the 40 & 80 gig fats without bc but they were released just a few months before the first slim. And finally I had no idea that he had a slim I didn't see that comment and read all the comments that loaded when I made this comment. The emulation on the fat ps3 is the exact same as a modded ps3 slim. They unlock the official ps3 emulator that is used for the ps2 games on the psn. Which is used on the old ps3's through firmware updates. I just wish they'd officially unlock it for all ps3's.

Apparantly equipping your Dalmascan infantry in half-naked armor would cost you the war, who would have thought! Seriously though, I hated Dalmascan fashion from the military attire to their civilian clothing. Soooo much skin. Not only are their armour pointless, it doesn't even look good, put some undercoat on or something. I mean, you live in the desert ffs! I hated Vaan's costume, the Sky Pirate costume was an improvement.
They live in a Country in a fucking Dessert. You cant wearing a full platearmor without dying in the heat. Thats why the Archadian soldiers hated to be stationated in Dalmasca because there waering a full armor. I think thats the reason why they attacked Nalbina at night.

This game was so bland. it was a very pretty looking game but so unbelievably bland, and boring. I played through the whole thing. and i don't even remember one single detail about the story. I kept on thinking as I went through it, that this was going to start making sense. that I was honestly going to care for the plight of these characters. that the bad guy was going to be awesome, and I was going to enjoy hating him, and that beating him was going to be rewarding. I don't even remember the ending to this game! To anyone who defends this game, and calls it one of the best games ever made, you are wrong. I will give it just one thing though. it's graphics for its time are simply gorgeous.and then 13 came out and it was even worse, while looking even more beautiful.
