If you stack high powered materia to get to -103% you end up with 9999 HP.
If you use level 2 weapons in Final Fantasy XIII you get access to Synthesis abilities you can't with level 3 weapons.

I'll never get over that first time you see Anima summoned and he gets ripped out of the ground with a hook grabbing onto his jaw. Was even more brutal when you realise he's still sealed even though he's been summoned. Outside of his Limit Break he just attacks with the only eye that isn't restrained

In FFX the Magus Sisters are more difficult to obtain than Anima, because having Anima is a requirement for obtaining the Magus Sisters, plus you must also obtain the Flower Scepter and Blossom Crown, which means you have to capture one of each enemy on Mt. Gagazet.

I've been a player of Final Fantasy since the NES days. So far, I'd say THE HARDEST summon to obtain would be the Cockatrice summon during Rydia's chapter of Final Fantasy 4: The After Years. Just like in the original Final Fantasy 4, and in Interlude, it is still randomly dropped by Cockatrice and other similar bird-type enemies. It is even possible for other characters to obtain Rydia's four random-drop summons within their own individual chapters to give to her at the final chapter when all parties come together. However, in Rydia's own chapter, for story purposes she is not able to summon ANYTHING unless or until a Goblin, Cockatrice, Bomb and/or Mindflayer drop their summoning items. Goblin is fairly easy, as it often appears in the Cave of the Eidolons. The Mindflayer is in a cave near Agart, and the Bomb is in the Challenge Dungeon once the chapter is completed. As for the Cockatrice, it resides on two floors of the Sylph Cave... but in the Playstation Portable version of The After Years, the encounter rate is TERRIBLE, and that's on top of a low drop rate for the item itself! In my last play through, it took a few months, then a break of a few months for giving up to save my sanity, and then a few more months. But, I did eventually get it. I don't think I'll be restarting a whole new game from scratch again any time soon.

I never did get fenrir in ff11. I had the rest of the summons. Rumor was that he would destroy a paladin tank. And the only way to actually tank him, was to have 2 ninjas using ustsusemi, to control aggro and survive. I don't know how true that was, as I never actually faced him. And this was before the level cap was above 75. I heard the game got a lot easier after I left.

    • @benstevens44

To be fair, the meta in the 75 cap days was "everyone come ninja or sub ninja for utsusemi." A paladin might have been able to handle it, but why not just blink away all the damage instead (and hope that its shadow-clearing area desperation move doesn't flatten the party.)

Zodiark from FFXII deserves the mention.
In order to even unlock the dungeon in which it sleeps, you need 10 other Espers including the ones in the main story. Two of the story Espers are near the top of the Pharos, so if you don't clear that, you need both Chaos AND Ultima -- and both are annoying as hell to get, especially Chaos.
Once you unlock the dungeon, then and only then can you attempt to obtain Zodiark. Therein, however, lay the issue: this dungeon contains the game's strongest normal enemies, and there are no save points between the Gate Crystal in Staging Shaft and Zodiark's lair. This meant that you first had to survive the most brutal gauntlet of regular enemies the game has to offer, and the dungeon is not the easiest to navigate, either. Then, after you make it to Zodiark, you have to take it down...and the fight is about as luck-based as Ozma from FFIX.
The main issue with the fight is that Zodiark's big Darkja spell can instantly kill the entire party even if you have Black Mask and Demon Shield equipped. And the likelihood of this happening is fairly high every time Zodiark uses this move. If you don't know how to deal with it, you'll likely get a Game Over, sending you all the way back to Staging Shaft to try again. And even if you win, you still have to escape the dungeon before you can celebrate your hard-fought victory.

    • @ThundagaT2
      @ThundagaT2 3 месяца назад +2

The enemies inside the henne mines arent too bad to deal with, there's a different exploit for each of them if you have trouble getting past them the normal way. Plus a glitch you can also utilize in the last area if you feel like it lol. I've personally never had an issue fighting them even without those tricks though. The only place in there i can see is the abysteel room, but you dont have to actually stay there and fight. Also Zodiark can be cheesed if you know how, that fight isnt really that bad if you know the right strategies. Darkja has a 50% chance to insta-kill, but this chance can be halved with shell, 25% isnt that high. Also getting out of the dungeon after the fight is cake, since you can just take the shortcut from the other end of zodiark's room which leads back to the story portion of the henne mines, those enemies are too weak to kill you by then unless you keep yourself on like 1HP for whatever reason lol

The power of Doomtrain was that it could never miss unless the enemy had total immunity to that status. For example, casting Meltdown alone on Omega Weapon has like a 5% chance to stick the Vit0 status effect, while Doomtrain applies Vit0 100% of the time.

    1. Other status effects from Doomtrain were nice, but the main reason for summoning it was that it inflicted Def 0 with 100% accuracy. Meltdown was usually reserved for Vit junctions, as it gave the greatest increase and didn't have the same accuracy.
    2. Like everything in FFVIII, if you knew which materials were needed, the magazines were irrelevant. The only barriers were a) obtaining the ring and b) fighting Malboros or playing Triple Triad.

    • @ThorsShadow

For the first point meh, I always preferred casting meltdown instead. Sure it has a lower accuracy, but its not too terrible most of the time. And i generally triple cast it anyway to ensure it hits. I use a different junction for Vit since i generally dont need the best spells on my junctions anyway. It helps that i prefer meltdown's animation over doomtrain's lol.
As for the second point, you forgot that Alexander was required for Med Lv Up to get Remedy+. WIthout that you'd need to rely on Angelo Search, and good luck with that lmao.

I don't know if I'd say Doomtrain is the hardest to obtain in FF8. The most obscure I suppose, as you need to get the clues and the specific items, but I wouldn't say hardest. I would actually rank Tonberry King and Eden as harder GF's to get. Tonberry King, for unprepared players, is very difficult due to the need to fight so many Tonberry's, and if unprepared any 1 Tonberry can kill you. When that's combined with how the King shows up during a battle you're already fighting, and not as a separate battle, that can be difficult to be sure. Meanwhile, Eden requires you to first fight Bahamut, then complete the research center, and then fight Ultima Weapon, drawing Eden during the fight. Given that enemy difficulty scales in FF8, Ultima Weapon is a very tough fight no matter when you gace it, one of the hardest in the game. So, in terms of "hardest", I'd probably put those ahead of Doomtrain.

Don't think it was mentioned here or in the other video but for me Gilgamesh in FF VIII is the hardest summon to get in all games simply because from my memory at least in every other game none of the summons are 100% missable instead you usually either a) need a lot of stuff to get them or b) you have more then 1 chance to get them in the game. Gilgamesh on the other hand was only obtainable at a single moment in FFVIII and unless you knew about how to get him chances area high you missed him. Seeing as to get him you were required to do an optional dungeon to get Odin and you had to do it before a certain point in the game because to get Gilgamesh you needed to have Odin during a fight which would get him killed and in return you would get Gilgamesh if not it was impossible to get Gilgamesh.

I'd say Diablos in VI Advance was harder than Crusader by far! Not only did you have to defeat all 8 Legendary Dragons in the World or Ruin, thus obtaining Crusader and unlocking Dragon's Den, but you then had to BEAT Dragon's Den, wherein you found all 8 Legendary Dragons again, but this time powered up and operating under special conditions which you had to fight under in order to beat them (such as one being immune to physical, another immune to Magic, Ice making 3 copies of himself, Fire you had to survive, Thunder being in constant Runic, Undead you had to drain his MP to 0 rather than his HP, Earth now absorbing Earth Elemental, I can't remember Holy's gimmick...), with other Bosses peppering the dungeon, once all 8 were felled once more, you opened a final chamber wherein lay the strongest Dragon of them all: Kaiser Dragon! After beating HIM then you could go claim your prize of Diablos... but it doesn't end there! Come back once more and you can fight Omega Weapon! Yeah, you beat these Legendary Dragons, open up a new dungeon, fight them again but stronger and sporting absurd gimmicks, beat their boss to get one final Esper and then you can come back to fight one of Final Fantasy's most well-known and recurring Super Bosses!

And I'll be hitting Holy multiple times per Round anyway (thank you, Quick!), so I doubt he'll be able to keep up! In fact, that might be why I keep forgetting his gimmick, his Curaga being so ineffectual, cuz I'm hitting so much! And all max damage as well! About that I still UNCURSED that shield around lv 65 but even at lv99 I find the NORMAL enemies more annoying then the 6 Dragon bosses but yes The Holy Dragon their counters everything by using Cure 3 on ITSELF Holy Dragon can only counter with Curaga/Cure 3 if it doesn't DIE but yes 8x 9999 hits will off it instantly.
One of the trapped chest enemies Neslug is similar to the Welk boss at the start of the game but ANY HITS to its Shell causes it to instantly kill its attack but Megaton Press is physical death so it won't connect if you Vanish tyhe party but when Neslug DOES heal its HEAD its always going to do 9999 damage.
Theirs also a 8x Pink Puffs chest battle and like the FF4 enemy they can use a Berserk Dance effect but I'm not sure IF Ribbons in FF6 GBA actually NULL the Berserk effect.
