Wow. Love this. Never heard this band before, but grew up with my uncle playing banjo. Love bluegrass, but this is more. He is creating something new, a fusion of different genres and exceptional musicianship. I'm in ecstasy! 🇨🇦🔥🔥🔥🥇🌟👋👍💖
Hé there Freeman i'm from Holland,i love Billy,but you're vid,you chillin' and taking you're tokes,awesome,how honest can you be,loved the whole thing,great
Ya bud you nailed it, it is the West Virginia Connection. I am from up around Pittsburgh and we get it too. That music comes down out of the Appalachian Mountains and gets in our DNA some how and when we here those strings playing that crazy upbeat Bluegrass sound, it gets our attention immediately. I don't care who it is or what else they are into, if they hear that music it puts points on our ears. Down South they had the Blues, up here we have Bluegrass and Jazz and both seem to speak to us on some base instinct kind of level. It really shows in the musicians from our areas too. Brad Paisley's entire band is musicians from West Virginia or PA from Pittsburgh to Eerie and he swears it is because we play with a certain flavor you don't get anywhere else and I believe that 100 percent because I can hear it. Every musician from around here is equal R&B feel, Jazz feel and there is Come country in there whether we like it or not. I don't care if you play Hip Hop or Heavy Metal, there is some country in there. And if you play Country you will get accused of sounding too much like a rock guitarist or a jazz guy.
The thing is....I prefer his studio recordings as prior to the end of last summer Billy didn't have a fiddle player touring in the band...but....this is LIVE and Billy is nearly flawless every damn time, and he and his band play 250 shows a year and have been for almost four years now. Road dogs!
hey bro he's doing a tour of the country rn see if he will be around u, seeing them perform live is the greatest musical experience you can ever have, hands down.
oh boy Billy Strings is gonna make you get the smiles. And yes, its deep rooted into your DNA fam, this is the music of the folks out east mountain side 😁" im sweating from a fucking song" dam right, dont you love it!!!
Bluegrass never goes out of style. Don’t believe it? Try to get good tickets to any of the Bluegrass Festivals that have been going for close to a century! Certain stars have brought it to the “Pop” arena a few times throughout the years. Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Osborn Bros, Ricky Skaggs, New Grass Revival, and now Billy. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Circle album, along with the Grateful Dead’s interest in the genre, has kept the music popular for more than just us rednecks for decades! Need to dive deeper my Brother!
It keeps getting better every time you hit that bowl! 😂 This band is tight as it gets...I've got a recommendation for you Away from the Mire off Austin City Limits...it's hot because your face is melting!
Man I just seen this sorry been busy but if you want more Billy strings haha a good chill funny one is catch and release i always smoke when its on and more crazy picking you can check out his big hit dust in a baggie or meet me at the creek is a good one oh and him and a guy name Marcus king do a good cover of summer time
If you want to have some more fun with this kind of music do Billy Strings "Dust in a Baggie". Also Phish "Poor Heart", If you want links to them I will put them up here.
@@JynxBK I dunno. If you didn't take it down, then it musta been YT doing funky things and maybe blocked it for whatever reason... It's not the first, and not the last time it's happened. Tho, I do know for a fact, YT will NOT allow any links besides YT links in posts, but the links i included were YT videos. So, here goes....again: Here's a vid at the very beginning of his touring career...this is the Gold Standard version of this song: Search up the COUCH VERSION of "Dust in a Baggie". It's just him, his guitar, a few buddies and the "Green Shirt Guy".... And if you dig hillbilly string band music, then check out the Carolina Chocolate Drops...the sista got a set of pipes considering she was trained in opera: Search up their performance of "Cornbread and Butterbeans" at the Mountain Song Festival, NC from 3/21/12. 4 of them up on stage. And the brotha on the jug and bones is a good friend of Billy Strings.... ----------------------------------------------- Kinda sux YT is now blocking their own videos... What a buncha i d i o t s!!!!!!!!
BMFS is a deep wonderful rabbit hole to go down.
William Apostle is his real name. Billy Strings is how we call him. He is reconstructing/reviving bluegrass before our eyes. He is the REAL shit.
Billy's music grows on you more and more. I love Billy. He is the Man.
😂 this guy cracks me up! Great reaction! Billy is the best live band in the world
Come to a billy show! It will change your life
Wow. Love this. Never heard this band before, but grew up with my uncle playing banjo. Love bluegrass, but this is more. He is creating something new, a fusion of different genres and exceptional musicianship. I'm in ecstasy! 🇨🇦🔥🔥🔥🥇🌟👋👍💖
Go see him once live in concert and you will be a Billy addict ❤❤❤❤
Someone I know called this hillbilly trap music. As accurate a description as I can think of
Billy is AMAZING! A once in a lifetime talent. I fell in love with bluegrass because of him!
Ah, I see uve been introduced to Billy Strings! Welcome, brother! ❤️🔥❤️❤️🔥❤️❤️🔥
out of all the reaction vids I've seen regarding Billy, this one made me smile the most... he got you good didn't he? Cheers...
we bought tickets yesterday for his show in Boston in July ! will be our second time , can't wait !
I'm not jealous... nope lol
Billy String's family/friends had issues with Meth growing up. Tinfoil and turmoil - the lyrics tell a sad tale as does the music.
I couldn't hit like fast enough when I saw Billy Springs.
1 love Thank you.. I need more music by him..them..the band.. I like it
@@JynxBK Check out Meet me by the creek and taking water. Dust in a baggie is more then likely his most popular song.
@@mikecausey7778 I've heard a few.. I'm hooked
Right there with you! Except from the Ozark hills 🤣 Banjos get me every time 💖🦋
Ditto on the banjo...been trying to play one for years!
Sometimes, you just gotta relax, and realize you're in the presence of greatness. He is the heir apparent to Doc Watson.
I just saw him live in Savannah and holy 💩 everyone needs to go once in their life. Then you’ll want to go nonstop 😂
I love the huge grin on your face, I’m there with you!
Come out to Va. Ill take you to a show. Nothing like Billy live! From my dad to my kids, all ages love it
Bluegrass is, at its core, “good time music”. That’s why it’s so toe-tappin’
Now this is what a reaction should be, fun to watch man!
