  • What's Up Y'all
My Living Room area has been a space that I've been experimenting with for some time now. I finally got the seating in order and once I was married to the seating arrangement I decided that it was time to upgrade my TV Console situation. I looked all over the internet for a TV console that was aesthetically pleasing and could not find ANYTHING that I loved and /or was affordable. You guys know by now that once I feel like I cannot find it, I have to figure out how to Do It (MY)Yourself. I went to Ikea, found some unfinished cabinets, purchased some paint, wood stain and legs along with some other things and got to work! Check out my creative process and let me know what you think!
Here is what I used for this project....
    Ikea Ivar Wall Cabinet (www.ikea.com/u...)
Behr Dynasty Black One-Coat Hide Matte Interior Stain-Blocking Paint & Primer (shopstyle.it/l... )
Special Walnut Classic Wood Interior Stain ( shopstyle.it/l... )
Behr Semi-Gloss Clear Water-Based Fast Drying Interior Polyurethane (shopstyle.it/l...)
    Paint Roller (shopstyle.it/l...)
    Foam Paint Brush (shopstyle.it/l...)
    Drop Cloth (shopstyle.it/l...)
    Mending Plates (shopstyle.it/l...)
6 inch Satin Black Hairpin Coffee Table Legs (www.amazon.com... )

Awesome job! Small recommendation for future projects possibly involving electrics, consider getting an inexpensive hole saw kit for your drill to put pass through holes in the back of the cabinet for wiring. You could add the holes later of course, but it might be easier for you to do it ahead of time before any painting and/or staining so you can paint/stain the walls of the opening(s) at the same time as the rest. Nevertheless, the cabinet looks spectacular and I applaud your artistic creativity!

Thank you for watching and offering up a tip Mike! I can definitely use that for future projects. I did do a makeshift hole for the wires at the bottom. Since its in the back, I think it's fine lol. Next time I will attempt to do it properly!

I love this! If you want to close the gap between the doors, there are lots of videos of how to adjust the hinges on this IVAR cabinet. I want to make one too! Thanks for sharing

Thanks for watching Nan! The doors don’t really bother me but I’ll adjust if they ever do, thanks for the tip! Yes, I say go for it, good luck!

You were nervous in the beginning and I appreciate the honesty. Long story short though: this turned out real fly.
