Looks good! Just a tip, and you may already know since this video was a year ago, sanding needs to happen before priming, after priming, and between each coat, for the paint to be smooth and actually last. Also, if using spray paint, can’t just blindly spray and only halfway cover the piece. But like I said, I’m sure you’ve figured all this out by now!
Hi there! Do you know if I can just get the pine wood with the exact measurements at home depot or any other store? Also, do you have the right measurements? Thanks!
Oh my word...you are amazing! I think I may add a few sewing tricks to the burlap, (such as serging the edges with a matching natural thread & starching/ironing the heck out of it to get a really stiff inlay). Between my pets & hubby in a wheelchair bumping it, that might help keep it from stretching & fraying easily? Oh wait - as I type this I realize I have a cat & would just be providing him a scratching board lol. Maybe I can add a layer of black wire mesh + the burlap? It would look more "country chicken wire" though & not as classy as yours.
So there is at least one more person other than my son that follows the Ikea directions. You could also just tap a nail in to hold the strip when painting
I used 26 1/2” vertical pieces for the outer and middle parts of the cabinet doors, 29 5/8” vertical pieces for the inner parts of the cabinet (where my pulls are attached) and my horizontal pieces are all 26 3/4” ! Please let me know if this helps! Happy building ❤️
The cup hooks were to help me rotate the pieces of wood while I painted them! This was a trial to see if this was an easier way to paint all at once to cut down on having to wait for one side to dry before painting the other 😄
Hey Mary! Sorry about that, I believe the video has some audio issues. I’ll see about getting that back together. Until then, please let me know if you have questions and I’d be happy to help!
Hi there! The paint is holding up well but we also dont use this cabinet on a daily bases. If you plan to use it frequently Id definitely recommend a top coat
@@chasingsavoryspaces6921 Thank you for the response! Any tips on keeping the door level? No matter what we do it keeps sagging! I'm not sure if they're too heavy or what
@@nicolemcguire7607 absolutely!! I hope that helps. Unfortunately my doors kind of sag too 😭 I’m so sad but the magnets help at least while it’s closed. I wish I had a pro tip but I’m still learning haha
The reveal is kind of difficult to see at that angle. I mean, you don’t see the legs or how the doors fit/look on the entire unit, from the angle presented. A full shot directly from the front of the unit would make better sense.
Best one yet on a affordable option to add doors on a shelf. Welcome to RUclips!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Just the tutorial I need. So simple and looks beautiful and anyone can do different material colours to make their own unique piece.
Thank you! Cheers!

Loved this DIY!
That’s amazing!! Thank you
What were the measurements of your pine pieces to create the door? How did you accommodate the hinges and spacing?
I used 26 1/2” vertical pieces for the outer and middle parts of the cabinet doors, 29 5/8” vertical pieces for the inner parts of the cabinet (where my pulls are attached) and my horizontal pieces are all 26 3/4” !

@@chasingsavoryspaces6921 omg i just bought wood because you said They were 28 5/8" long and 28 1/4"
@@TerylynsBeat hi! I’m so sorry if this was confusing! Please send me a DM via Instagram and I will try to clarify!
that is great
Very nice. How is it holding up. I’d like to try this on my tall ikea book shelf
Not enough instructions and steps for beginner to follow!
So very sorry! I will definitely try to break it down more next time.
Love this! Where exactly do you put the hinges?
Thank you! I equally spaced them from the top and bottom 👍
This is beautiful. What color paint is that? Did you just use black?
Thank you so much!! Yes, it was just a black paint from Home Depot 😊
What is the final cost including all hardware? Pls let me know. Thanks.
What were the measurements
what are the dimensions you cut the pinewood timber to make the doors?
They were 28 5/8” long and 28 1/4” wide! Happy building ☺️
Hos many pine wood slabs did you buy?
Where did you bought the legs?
Hi! I found the legs on Amazon, they have so many options!
What did you use the cup hooks for?
The cup hooks were to help me rotate the pieces of wood while I painted them! This was a trial to see if this was an easier way to paint all at once to cut down on having to wait for one side to dry before painting the other 😄
Hi. What is the hinges size?
This was my first time here. Did music go out? Do you use music? I was a little tripped out by lack of instruction or sound
Hey Mary! Sorry about that, I believe the video has some audio issues. I’ll see about getting that back together. Until then, please let me know if you have questions and I’d be happy to help!
❤️❤️❤️
How has this paint held up? Does it scratch off?
Hi there! The paint is holding up well but we also dont use this cabinet on a daily bases. If you plan to use it frequently Id definitely recommend a top coat
Do you have the exact measurements for each length for the doors?
Absolutely! They were 28 5/8” long and 28 1/4” wide! Happy building ☺️
Can you share measurements
I tried building this but the cabinet doors seem to heavy/weighed down and don't close....how did you get yours to look like that?
Aw yay! I actually ended up using magnetic door attachments. Found them at Home Depot!
@@chasingsavoryspaces6921 Thank you for the response! Any tips on keeping the door level? No matter what we do it keeps sagging! I'm not sure if they're too heavy or what
