Sorry bout your blowout KO. To check if a tire is a recap, there is an oval “race track” on the sidewall. If the inside of the oval is blank, it’s a virgin tire. If there is a brand of some sort inside the oval. It’s a recap. Hope that helps.

Hey, what’s up brother. If you did what you think is best for you when you made the right decision. I’m an O/O with my own authority. I’ve had my own truck and authority for almost a year now it was definitely a struggle but I have learned a lot and things are getting better as I’m learning how to run a business so many people said I was stupid and that I should’ve stayed a company driver but I’m glad I didn’t listen. They are people who are afraid of a little struggle but nothing in life comes easy. Keep doing your thing brother and he if things get a little difficult, it will only get better with time.

The separate stamp in the side of the tires is the easiest way to identify a recap tire. Also, a spare tire rack would be a good investment.

I have my own authority. Sence 2018 this time around. Those numbers that you are showing are not bad in this market they look better then some guys with there own authority. Keep it up, keep pushing forward

May want to check the speed rating of the tires. If they ARE recaps, likely they are only rated for lower speeds. Going 70 may over heat them and cause the blow out

McGriff Tire is a good place out of Decatur, AL. They have stores across the southeast. They did have one in Mobile. If you had a blowout empty, that's not good. Recaps are bad anyway, you see the damage it did. You need a new set of 8 matching tires will save a lot of worries and trouble.

don't buy tires from a truck stop. Recaps will work as long as you keep the pair air up, even no less than 10%.

Yes, you made the right decision for owner-operator!! How much was your deposit for your truck through SFI? And have you thought about getting a fuel card through pilot? You only need your business name and EIN.
Naw I never thought about that honestly. My deposit was 2500 for Sfi.

They have to update your driver profile, once you switched trucks they more then likely set up your profile as a company truck profile instead of the regular OO, so that’s something your BOA should be able to change, mine was like that before.

I had to have my router box that is in the dash replaced when I got new truck batteries. I had 144 critical events in 2 days for speed. The box was set for company driver, I never even got a call about it (sat and Sunday) Monday it was fixed.
Sheesh. They called me the next day about it and then it was fixed Monday when I emailed my boa about it.

They have your tablet setup like a company driver. Max speed for otr company is 65. OO max is like 78. And check the tire size front and back on a brand new Sfi truck and try to match the type and size. I just left tn to in 27k lbs and I’m about 9.9 mpg. Front tire looks smaller then what they order on the new truck I have

You’re not suppose to have an over speed limiter on your truck at all. Over speed is a company driver thing as far as I remember.

Yes. I got my own truck now. That fee has nothing to do with Schneider. That was the return fee from SFI. I’m still driving for Schneider for now.

Only affects your credit if you don’t pay them. 6k return fee. I break it down and show it in the video
Schneider wants IC's at 68mph company drivers 65 and the tablet reads the speed limit signs every time the speed limit changes. If you are over 1mph over the limit its shows speeding. You know they're hating cause you got out from under that lease demon😂😂 and got your own truck. Be safe driver!👍👍

It's extremely hard out here right now if I'm being honest. Been an O/o with own authority for a little over 3 and a half years. It is a big step for sure. Even when I came in I got discouraging comments from people. You'll always have haters because they don't have the amount of ambition we do. I became an O/o because there is so much more freedom. Good luck driver. You can definitely still make money out here but don't take cheap freight. Stick to your guns, know your worth and if you do book your own loads like I do, stay above the 15 day average.

One thing I'll tell you is once you no longer have a SFI truck your leash gets real short.. I've been there.. Had a SFI truck every was all good.. Paid mine off like 9 years ago.. Started getting drug tested every month lmao..I finally quit and NEVER came back..

Hey Kendall, just wanted to let you know with Schneider and SFI I let them know that you referred me because all of your videos have been very helpful and informative for me to make this decision. So thank you for all the videos. I have been doing a lot of research on where to go. That would be the best fit to succeed as an owner operator.
And I also have a question for you, because the gentleman that I am talking with at SFI does not seem to know as much about the trucks as I would expect, do the premium freightliners just have the optidle or do they have an APU or an EPU?
Same question for the Volvo 860s because those are the two trucks I’m interested in.

Hey. So if it’s a newer truck then it’ll have a EPU and the freight liners also have optimized idle. I’m not sure about the Volvos to be honest. I’ll have to ask one of my boys. He got one.

@@Ekdave15 OK awesome, thank you. now I’m hoping maybe you can answer this question how is power supplied to the inverter when the engine to the truck is turned. I know with an APU it would keep the batteries on the truck charged to keep power to the inverter. Does the EPU work the same way? I really do not like the OPTi idle on the freight liners because when the truck turns off, it kills the power to the outlets, and then it wakes you up. You have to get up and run the microwave or some thing to get the truck to start back up again. And that was a continuous problem with me having to use a CPAP.

That’s an old Averitt Express truck. They’re set at 75 for over speeds. Not sure if that has something to do with the over speed alert you’re getting. Hope they figure it out. These are some good trucks. They get good mileage n are taken care of. Safe travels bruh.

I was leased to Schneider before. But because of the age of my truck I had to leave. I had a 3406 cat engine and they were charging the type of ELD that they had so I left. I will be back when my current truck is paid off in three years which is a 2024 Volvo.

Just add your debit or credit card to the app and they give you a code to give the truck stop clerk and it applies the discount once you hang the pump up.
