Don't you lie to me, Stevie and Albert you won't regret it @
Albert was Stevie’s Godfather. This is such a special clip…the love for one of another shines.
Albert King was considered the godfather of soul but he was not SRV's godfather.
@Diana Spears It's common knowledge that Albert appointed himself Stevie's godfather. Stevie and Albert both mentioned it several times in interviews through the years, and Stevie's brother, Jimmie, has mentioned it many times as well.
Stevie is a GOAT!!!!! And so are his strings are GOATIES!!!!😮
Albert the teacher & Stevie the student soaking it all in. 🔥
The blues are the best medicine for stress and dispair! These legends are a part of my every day play list.
Albert King was a blues legend and a physically large guy with presence, whereas Stevie was small stature. That probably makes Albert's guitar appear smaller & more like a banjo. These 2 had great affection for one another; Stevie idolized Albert and dared to beg to sit in with him as an up & coming musician, when Albert was appearing at Antone's in Austin. Albert refused at first, but after Clifford Antone pleaded on Stevie's behalf, he reluctantly agreed and figured he'd put this punk kid in his place. But Stevie kept up riff for riff with Albert, much to his amazement & delight! From them on, he mentored Stevie, and Stevie kept him.on a pedestal in return. This isn't just a great piece of music, but also a chance to observe the mutual respect & closeness they shared.
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
Most will tell you that Jimi was Stevie's main influence; however, this session makes it quite obvious that Albert was Stevie's main man. Hell, you can Albert in damn near every note Stevie played.
Blues baby! Not just for men. 💥😍 some of us women get down with blues too. LOL. Esp with these two blues guitar giants. pssst... hope you don't mind these multiple posts, algorithms and all that.
Hell nah I don't
Us women know thing or two about the blues too. How about some reactions to lady blues singers? Susan Tedeschi doing Angel from Montgomery comes to mind.
I'm old, like seriously old. I had this on my I Pod playlist in highschool. I thought in fact that Albert King was a fake name not unlike how Steven King (Author) wrote under different names, but I was a SRV fan. Once SRV played with those old schools blues guitarist. I had to find stuff out like how he played with Buddy Guy one night. It's out there on YT and it makes me remember to see an older person who has mastered their career and to listen, look. Dam, even smell what it's like to have someone who's lived a lifetime that can teach you to be a better man. I think that's what's been lost. There's no "father" "teacher" figure that these kids know to just shut up and learn from and replicate anymore. I could go on forever but these times are the last of where us 80's kids came from that knew to have and give respect. Sorry for the ramble.
Albert Lee didnt just anyone play with him. He knew Stevie could play👍🏼
You should check out the whole show it's a little over an hour
Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan in session? Ah, to be a fly on the wall... don't get any better than this! Saw Stevie live, never Mr King...bring back the blues 💙 hells yeah! My favorite genre, my feel good music...found this on youtube years back, like finding treasure- pure gold- you may want to check out song Don't You Lie To Me...same session. Awesome. Great reaction- love seeing young people enjoy the old music- some music, like this- timeless, thank you. Bring back the blues, 💙 haha!
Mugnify Reacts you must check out Stevie Ray and Albert King "Blues at Sunrise "
Like you say man what apen to the music ..? Disco was the beginning of the end. No more instrument, electronic music.
The DJ was the guy who was presenting the artist. Now they think they are artist. A band of musician, the interaction between them that's what create magic !
Great reaction bro.
Just saw a new documentary tonight in Dallas (Oak Cliff) about Stevie and his brother Jimmie (who was present). So much history about them and their journey. Epic documentary! Lots of background and commentary from Billy Gibbons, Jackson Browne, Nile Rodgers and Eric Clapton. Now I can saw I've met them both. Finally met Jimmie tonight. Met Stevie at the mall once.
Pure respect, love & joy on SRV's face...priceless. Mr. King was loving it too. Special relationship and it shows. Amazing reaction.
Well said!
It warmed my heart to see your reaction to this wonderful music, from A.K.s soul straight to our ears. Amazing.
Albert King was the first blues singer I saw on TV. Stevie and Albert are my two favorite blues singers. I listen to Albert Collins and buddy guy Joe Lewis walker and Gary Clark jr Tommy castro coco Montoya now
NOW you're talking. Making my morning coffee taste even better and it was already damn good. 😎
Albert played in a very unique way. He also played a left handed guitar left handed, but strung up right handed.
Albert King is special
Mr. King was playing that guitar left-handed with the strings strung upside down
It really doesn't get any better than this.
Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland is another excellent one to check out.
Its on the channel already
Great video ✨️😎
From one man to another, I salute your spirit...your strength.
SRV and Johnny Copeland. Tin Pan Ally Johnny is a legendary Texas Bluesman.
With SRV and Johnny, you will hear the difference between “Blues” and “Texas Blues”. You will hear a lot of Texas Blues with ZZ Top as well. It’s smelly and swampy!
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR REACTION! Deep dive on both of them is a GIFT!!! Lol
This whole session is a Treasure of Pleasure💯🎶🎸. There are conversations between them throughout the set that shows the mutual respect and affection these two had for each other. One of my favorites from this set is Don't Lie To Me but no matter which one you pick please do more from this👏🙌. FYI none of these songs from this set have ever been blocked so you can won't need a filter. Only ones from the El Macambo seem to ever get blocked but the majority of others don't require filters.
Love your reactions to this fantastic music🎸🎶💙. Keep them coming✌️💙
another one in canada ms miller
Love this--two masters at the top of their games! Thanks for keeping the memories alive!
Pride and Joy is another great song by Stevie and Albert
Yes, please!
Albert is playing his gauitar upside down, did not switch strings. Right handed guitar playing left handed. Amazing
Great eye on how he holds his guitar!!!
Albert King played a right handed strung guitar, left handed. This means he can reach things pretty much no one else can, lol! Plus when he rested his hand on the body of that giant Flying V guitar with thumb under the neck, his fingertips rested on the pickups! I was lucky enough to meet him and he was a giant dude!!!!!!
I love how they work hard at complementing each other rather than working hard to show each other up.
Priceless.thanks for posting.😍
Glad you enjoyed it
This aired once right after they did this I got to see it when it came on way back in the 1980s
Everything about this whole session is great.
Albert King was a legend (and a huge inspiration to Eric Clapton). B. B. King? What can I say that hasn't been said? But let me recommend that you check out the third King of the blues, Freddie King. Look for his performance of the song "Sweet Home Chicago". Please, do that. You won't regret it.
Albert King and BB King!
Dude...I had this "In Session" album and last year, I went to take it off the shelf and the album rolled out of the jacket and shattered on the floor.
I'm STILL furious.
I do have the CD now though....
(Albert King recorded this with the band Stax the year I was born, 1968. It's one of my favorite songs of all time!)
AWWWW.. Deanna 😂 I know it's not funny but that's crazy
@@MugnifyRTS Funny how it's the little things that are so hard to get over lol!
🦋 wow wow wow. Isn’t it amazing how there’s a particularly kind of music that can touch each person’s soul and no matter where you are or what you’re doing you will start moving, singing, dancing. This music is beautiful. That was the 60s!
This was the 80s. Just for reference.
I don't know why but when I hear this music I cry
Great reaction mugs
Agree about the music!!
Albert always plays his flying v gibson.
We really need this kind of music brother, this is the best ✨
Great reaction. This concert was a special moment in time. They are two of the greatest bluesman ever!
Mug- I saw Albert live in SF. What a brilliant and influential artist! Definitely keep it up with the blues!!!!! I love seeing you so uplifted! Thanks for the memories!
Rock on!
You are my brother much love from Richmond va❤❤❤❤
Albert is playing a left handed Flying Vee. It looks different because Albert played a left handed guitar. Flying Vee guitars were popular with some musicians Great Performance!
You ought to try Samantha Fish "Highways Holding Me Now" live at the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival.
That was awesome
The guitar looks like a Flying Vee, a Gibson from the 60's.
A couple more good ones from this session is blues at sunrise and matchbox blues
Albert was a lefty but he played a right handed guitar upside down. That's why it looks like it is a weird shape. I have a Hawaiian friend who plays like that and he swears that he is channelling King when he plays the blues.
fire🔥🔥🚒👩🚒👩🚒🔥🧯🧯
❤️❤️❤️
I'm feeling it. Sweet sounds.
If you look close he is playing a right handed guitar left handed with the thin string on top and the fat string on the bottom.
Albert wasn't using a pick, he was using his thumbnail as a pick. That's probably why you think it looks like he's playing a banjo.
It’s called grown folks music!
hey my channel the line in this jam is dont lie to me kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, great move my channel
Albert King was left handed and like Jimi Hendrix he played a right handed guitar upside down. Also Albert King was 6'5" tall, a giant of a man, so the Gibson Flying V guitar he's playing here looked small in his hands.
He didn't play it upside down but learned to position his fingers to play it right side up.
He was known as the Velvet Bulldozer
This is Man music, it's a thing of the past now cannot imitate it you have to live it, Goodluck nowadays they're trying to get rid of real men then the real man can't tell their stories and sing their soul out
Albert plays with no pick just fingers. Also it's strung upside down. So the thin E string is at the top instead on the bottom. Maybe that's why you feel it's strange the way he holds it
Its definitely not a normal grip and thanks for clearing that up
@@MugnifyRTS Joe bonamassa used Albert King's guitar in his last concert and features Stevie Ray Vaughan's keyboardist Reese Wynans this year.
The closest thing to this today is Joe Bonamasssa! Check him out! I'll play the blues for you!
Stevie's keyboardist Reese Wynans is still jamming today with Joe bonamassa
Albert was left-handed, and that may be what you noticed.
Ok my friend. Blues was the beginning of all of our modern music. Lead Zep was nothing more than Blues turned up REAL load. The Beatles acknowledge Blues and R&B were big influences. The Stones also kept it no secret they were just copying Blues and R&B. Blues is the root. It is where everything came from.
this flying Vnot normal ok? kkkkkkkkkkkk master albert
Albert played his guitar upside down like hendrix. Thats why it looks weird to you.
Is it fair to say you like it?
This makes all music suck today!
albert plays upside down
