    Did I just stumble upon the Bob Ross of cake decorating? This guy's the best!

    These videos are excellent! When first looking at the borders, they look so complicated, and after watching the videos, Mr Winbeckler has such a calm and low key teaching approach, it gives the viewer confidence that it is possible to master these techniques. Thank you.

    I love your videos... clear instructions, gentle manner, repetitive. Nicely done. I must say on this particular video I thought I was back in grade school and practicing my loops from penmanship class! :)

    You can pipe it with colored piping gel onto wax paper and let it set overnight then attach it to the side.

    Yes, it is buttercream.

  • @CakeSuppliesPlus
    @CakeSuppliesPlus  10 лет назад

    Softer buttercream works better for writing, scrolls, filigree, and borders. Firmer buttercream is required for flowers and figure piping.

    We have a video on how we make our icing. If you go do our channel page, you can see all our videos and locate it there. Or type in "Buttercream Icing - Winbeckler Recipe" in the search bar.

    No, this board is on a countertop. You want to practice decorating in the position you cake would be in--otherwise it's apples and oranges.

    would the softer buttercream work better or is the stiffer cream for roses the one to use?

    It's much more difficult to keep it neat on the side of a cake so it's usually not done on sides.

    thin consistency buttercream?

    • @CakeSuppliesPlus
      @CakeSuppliesPlus  10 лет назад

      You just make regular buttercream thinner/softer by adding more water.

      Thanks....do you bake cakes for a living?....is it profitable using real buttercream icing as opposed to some of the manufactured icings that are sold in big tubs?...and are they just as good?

    • @colleencline1006
      @colleencline1006 8 лет назад +1

      +PinkButterfly2020
      I currently am a cake decorator at a bakery and we purchased premade frosting as well as we make frosting too. In all reality as long as you are using a reliable recipe for icing it is cheaper to make icing but the premade icing is usually consistent and reliable for everything
