as a dark haired person with a little receding from my crown… & a little graying… I find a little hair dying can work wonders for camouflaging my hair recede.. for a few weeks.
I've been dyeing my hair every 10 days for 30 years - and not a day less. I stopped dyeing it. My ponytail when I had dyed hair was around 1cm thick (No layers, no cut, very long, tied at crown), a couple of years later with virgin hair (I only use coconut soap on it now, nothing else) my pony tail (no layers, at the crown) is double the thickness. I SWEAR all those chemicals on my scalp had something to do with it. My dyed hair was in exceptional condition (yes, it was) but much less of it!
Dr., you got it backwards. Objects appear black when they absborb all the light and reflect none. Objects appear white when they reflect all the light and so absorb none. An object appears red, for example, when it absorbs all the colors except red that is reflected and reaches the eye of the observer.
Hair dye irritated my scalp, causing an overproduction of skin cells, which clogged my hair follicles and caused hair loss. Dark hair dye also causes bladder cancer. I had better success by lightening my hair by washing with dilute honey. I also heard henna is good, but I haven't tried it.
I unfortunately find that when I dye my hair, especially the darker colours that my hair falls out terribly in the shower when rinsing it out. Also dark hair dye shows up my pale scalp, & makes my frontal & side hair thinning more noticeable. I understand that the hair is dead, but the hair follicles are not, I think harsh chemicals must leech into the scalp & do some sort of damage. This is my experience, others may have a different one.
Fairly sure you are correct about that, the dye has done damage to my scalp before and caused horrible itching to the point the scalp flakes off in some parts and just leaves very raw areas that sting when washed with shampoo. I'm unsure if that damages the follicles though
Is a Henna dye a better option than more commercial hair dye products? Some recommend simply avoiding all Hydrogen heavy dye applications - which, I assume, means any dyes that lighten the hair. Could you expand on these types of questions regarding dyes & hairloss.
Minoxidil is the best for hair treatment. But, you should remember that it's a commitment. If you stop using it, it will go back to the same stage before you were using it
If you can use the minoxidil as a topical solution and take the finasteride as a 1mg tablet would be more safer than taking it as a combined tablet Combined drugs sometimes have lesser effect and also I don't recommend using minoxidil orally because of the huge side effects that can happen to your heart Stay safe
Ive been grtting my hair dyed professionally for years without any issues a few weeks ago my stylist used a different "stronger" dye and ever since my hair has been falling out in clumps with each wash (i wash hair 1 to 2 times a week) i'm really worried as it has seriously thinned my stylist and doctor have no answers or suggestions so hope i find a cure before its all gone.
I had my hair highlighted to cover my gray after almost 1 year. My hair was very healthy but I've noticed now it's breaking and dry now so I'm not sure I will go back...

Minoxidil is the best for hair treatment. But, you should remember that it's a commitment. If you stop using it, it will go back to the same stage before you were using it

Hi, will the finasteride and minoxidil two in one tablets be just as effective as taking them both separately?
If you can use the minoxidil as a topical solution and take the finasteride as a 1mg tablet would be more safer than taking it as a combined tablet
Combined drugs sometimes have lesser effect and also I don't recommend using minoxidil orally because of the huge side effects that can happen to your heart
Stay safe
