You forgot the Fashion Wars, where you spend gold/money to buy insanely expensive infusions to make your character look like a christmas tree on crack so you can participate in competitions, get rewards or just stand still in low-level zones to blind new players.
And if you're done with all of those there's still fashion wars, minigames like Keg Brawl, miniatures to collect and of course you can learn to play Dragonforce on your harp.
This is so useful! I just hit level 80 and finished my story yesterday (first time for me and yes I got teary-eyed when that song started to play haha) and was wondering what to do next. Thanks Muk!
OTOH you could argue that it makes Tyria maps too easy and fast. Some people might enjoy doing it the way it was originally intended. The difference esp. with mounts like Griffon or Skycale and on some maps Beetle can be night and day.
@@kaltaron1284 They simply gives you an option since some parts of the map are frustrating without a mount or glider. You don't have to use them if you don't want to but it's there if your need them.

One thing I see missing is mention of Mastery Points. Getting Auto-loot is very important QOL. Getting MP can be combined with many of the other things (bosses, world exploration, etc.), but should cover how to look at what provides MP and how to go after it.

Just got back into guild wars 2 and got got all the xpacs. My god you’re video a god send. Started my OG launch account with a fresh character and just completed the base game story. Really enjoyed it (tho buggy at time) living stories are wonderful. Sadly season one can’t happen (did it YEARS ago) but lovely they add a recap to it (needed to jog my memory for it). Thanks for the video. Makes it so easy to have these as bullet points (haven’t played mmo in YEARS.)

My thing when I hit 80 was to pounce on path of fire mount unlocks. Everything i could get before doing any story. I later realized there were many masteries unlocked via story and felt kinda silly but still happy to have jackal...
Once you have done all of this there is achievement hunting. I actually found that hidden in the achievement panel there is quite a bit of story and lore things sprinkled in there in some collections and events. Its really cool. Its also satisfying to see pages of completed content. I think achievement hunting and Fashion Wars 2 are post end game though here for the super hardcore no life nerds
I’ve been spending my post level80 time getting all my mastery tracks leveled (for the expansions too) through metas and bounties and getting all my hero points for both elite specs and enough stored for the EoD elite spec once it drops. Joining hp/wp trains makes this soooooo easy. Oh and of course getting all mounts. I know this is mostly PoF and HoT but I’m sure many people who get to 80 are interested in those too.
I would add to add some special mention to that: -dragon responses missions allows you to buy ressources crates, which are RNG but some crates (usually the most expensive one) gives a lot of pretty nice stuff. Of course you pick the crate that gives you whatever you need (right click on the box-->preview) but as far as crafting ascended stuff goes, it helps a lot. -dungeon, while fun grants less reward and are less populated these days so yeah you may struggle a bit to find a group -new player who have access to Path of Fire should work their way to unlock mounts. I wouldnt be exagerating by saying mounts drastically changes your life in GW2. On top of making exploration easier, it makes farming much faster thanks to the mobility and it will greatly helps you in making money/ascended stuff. -yeah get an ascended stuff for fractal. You wont regret the reward when you'll do your high level fractals

The really first thing I would recommend to a new player is actually working on some masteries. Pact commander in specific for the auto loot. So doing stuff in core Tyria or related content until atleast this one is maxed. The legendary crafting tree is not that important for beginners and the third only if you enjoy fractals.

It's just soooo much to complete mounts, gear etc. I feel like many players leave the game again because of that.. Hopefully Arenanet can make it more clear to new or returning players.
Yeah, thats totally true. And the lb 80 booster pack that you receive when you purchase the expansion doesn't help at all.... my first time playing gw2 was last year, and I loved the game. As soon as i started, i bought the expansion and... used the pack. Mannn..... the first week i got fixed on doing my core history, and when i finished it.... WHAT SHOULD I DO? ITSA FUCKING BIG MAP, AND A FUCKING A LOT OF STUFFS! I stop playing. Now this year I returned more focused, created a lv1 character and decided to explore the game.... now i'm feeling the game really smoth, enjoying wvw, pvp, open world. Each day thar I log in i play a diferent game mode, and when I get tired of one i just go to another. For me, its working

And if you really don't wanna do all those stuff... Just do POF for mounts. Then do HoT for gliding. Can never go wrong with getting a Raptor and a glider.
My brother in law and I play gw2 together. My main is an asuran and I have a nice mix of the races between my classes. Everyone one of his is a norn. I jab at him every chance I get for it.

Ignore those groups. Some people are just crazy. It's not even like 500li means that you know and understand the strike bosses. And with a bit of competance they can all be done with Exotic gear easily.
Strikes are meant to be "training" for raids. They are easier than raids and should not require proof of raid boss kills to complete. That said, if a highly experienced group wants to just blaze through content and not talk at all, they are certainly allowed to do that. I'd honestly recommend just making a new group with "zero li" in the title and it'll probably fill up fast.
Me as an veteran player since from 2014 and still going on and who has tryed all content its worth it ... like i mostly enjoy pvp and pve world comps,dungeons,world bosses,and some random stuff that can be soloed but for first timers out there try all content out and see what you like to play and do on guild wars 2. There is no "right" way to play the game just enjoy doing things you like 🧐
I just reached level 80 today. I'm very much new to GW2, less than two weeks actually. So, I did enjoy this short guide on a list of things to do after reaching level 80. But does anyone in the comments know of a video shorter than 4 minutes on how to aquire a flying mount? It would make it easier to get around for sure, thanks. (Yes, I'm still working on the story, I'm on chapter 7 'Forming the Pact' almost at chapter 8.)
There are two flying mounts: Griffin: reward from a questline and collection you can start AFTER finishing the path of fire story, (requires 250 gold over the course of it) Skyscale: reward from doing a questline that requires path of fire and all of living world season 4 completed. (requires 50ish gold but much more time than the griffin over the course of it)
I've been Level 80 for a while and I just wander around like a lost puppy 95% of the time. It's been effective in getting a number of legendaries so far. Highly recommend it.
The Personal Story one I am iffy on, not sure if the rewards are actually that worth it. And post-Battle of Claw Island I feel like the story just keeps nosediving. Personally I am looking at LW Season 1 and Heart of Thorns story next.
Could you do a vid on what to do with only one or two hours to play per day? Like which dailies to hit for highest roi, and which places to focus to efficiently progress all the wonderful content

Could you maybe do a video on why endgame PvE loot is bad and maybe how to fix it? I really liked gw2 but after doing all the story and getting ascended gear for my guardian I felt like the only thing left was pvp, mindless grinding that feels bad since you can just buy gold with real money and joining a zerg group on a map to get currency and gear that has no real value. I also felt that since the most of the best cosmetics are all gem item gear that it made all the normal stuff look kinda crap(still liked the human's tier 3 armor for males). The loot in the game or what I refer to as "Russian doll loot" feels so unrewarding, I enjoyed the zone map events that go on but after doing them all I would get was a chest that had a box inside a box and different tier boxes that mainly had trash gear with currency that I didn't really care for. I just find that most of the PvE stuff has no real purpose after getting ascended gear and doing most of the easy and fun achievements like the jumping puzzle one etc(still get ptsd from the ship inside the cave one, still thank that Mesmer for making a portal.
@MuklukRUclips I've occasionally come across folks who are having trouble finding groups. Do you have a video on the various options for finding groups: guilds, commander & mentor tags, LFG, map chat, ... ? Might be useful for new players, though I feel like folks who've been in the game a while already know the drill.
You have a guide to show whats the best way to level mastery's fast? After having come back to the game, all my Core tyria masteries are at 0% and of course, I have the map nearly 100%'d, so is just doing events in 80 area's like the only way? Am glad that while doing PoF its basically giving me all the mastery levels I needed there, but so far behind on the core masteries.
Everything depends on time. Kill Teq, ley, do daily and it takes 1h minimum if u got luck to get flow teq->ley>daily Otherwise it will take 2-3h So....
Muk, are you recording at 1440p or higher resolution? It looks so ... clean. I use dx12 and reshade(with Tekkits filters), but I don't get these crisp visuals... at 1080p
I actually had dx12 off when I recorded this, but I had most of the in game settings on Ultra (I crank em up for recordings then back down a lil for gameplay).
This is definitely helpful. But I got an oddball question. Is there any special order to expansion stories? The mounts from Path of Fire have made Heart of Thorns a lot easier. Should I continue Path/Season 4 prior to Icebrood? I'm not sure where I get flying mounts from. Should I try and get those early?
The order is as they are listed in the journal. Base Game -> HoT -> Path of Fire with the living worlds in between. That said you can play them in any order (if you don't mind some story confusion) and the mounts added in path of fire certainly make HoT easier.
I feel like the non-flying mounts (mastery 1-3 unlocked) are sufficient for almost all situations you’ll encounter while gearing up/exploring and you‘ll be just a little slower than players with flying mounts. So imo it’s not worth to spend the 250g+time for Griffon and daaaays of running around + crafting for Skyscale before having played through each story once, gotten enough mastery points, having good exo or even some ascended gear and crafting disciplines leveled. Griffon roost should be in Crystal Desert and Skyscale roost in Dragonfall. I think playing the path of fire story is required to get the achievement that unlocks the collections for those mounts and having all Lw4 episodes is required for Skyscale specifically. Personally I‘m doing profitable metas etc. to get gear and save up gold (target: 400g in my wallet) first, so I can unlock griffon more or less instantly without going near bankrupt. Unlocking griffon before getting geared wouldn’t have a good return on investment because it doesn’t enable me to farm much faster. I‘ve shifted from farming HoT to Lw4 maps recently to prepare for the skyscale requirements (250 of each map currency + some gold etc. required). When I get sufficient resources I’ll gather some guild members and speed run through the achievements wherever possible.

Fresh level 80 should work on getting glider and mount masteries first. It will make everything else go smoother like map completion.

Actually is way easier to understand that mostly of MMOs, you just need to read or watch some videos tu understand.

I've been Level 80 for a while and I just wander around like a lost puppy 95% of the time. It's been effective in getting a number of legendaries so far. Highly recommend it.

The Personal Story one I am iffy on, not sure if the rewards are actually that worth it. And post-Battle of Claw Island I feel like the story just keeps nosediving. Personally I am looking at LW Season 1 and Heart of Thorns story next.

Could you maybe do a video on why endgame PvE loot is bad and maybe how to fix it?
I really liked gw2 but after doing all the story and getting ascended gear for my guardian I felt like the only thing left was pvp, mindless grinding that feels bad since you can just buy gold with real money and joining a zerg group on a map to get currency and gear that has no real value. I also felt that since the most of the best cosmetics are all gem item gear that it made all the normal stuff look kinda crap(still liked the human's tier 3 armor for males).
The loot in the game or what I refer to as "Russian doll loot" feels so unrewarding, I enjoyed the zone map events that go on but after doing them all I would get was a chest that had a box inside a box and different tier boxes that mainly had trash gear with currency that I didn't really care for.
I just find that most of the PvE stuff has no real purpose after getting ascended gear and doing most of the easy and fun achievements like the jumping puzzle one etc(still get ptsd from the ship inside the cave one, still thank that Mesmer for making a portal.
@MuklukRUclips I've occasionally come across folks who are having trouble finding groups. Do you have a video on the various options for finding groups: guilds, commander & mentor tags, LFG, map chat, ... ? Might be useful for new players, though I feel like folks who've been in the game a while already know the drill.

You have a guide to show whats the best way to level mastery's fast? After having come back to the game, all my Core tyria masteries are at 0% and of course, I have the map nearly 100%'d, so is just doing events in 80 area's like the only way? Am glad that while doing PoF its basically giving me all the mastery levels I needed there, but so far behind on the core masteries.
Everything depends on time.
Kill Teq, ley, do daily and it takes 1h minimum if u got luck to get flow teq->ley>daily

Muk, are you recording at 1440p or higher resolution? It looks so ... clean. I use dx12 and reshade(with Tekkits filters), but I don't get these crisp visuals... at 1080p
I actually had dx12 off when I recorded this, but I had most of the in game settings on Ultra (I crank em up for recordings then back down a lil for gameplay).

Getting ascended weapons are super easy because there are achievements which help out a carp ton!
This is definitely helpful. But I got an oddball question.
Is there any special order to expansion stories? The mounts from Path of Fire have made Heart of Thorns a lot easier. Should I continue Path/Season 4 prior to Icebrood? I'm not sure where I get flying mounts from. Should I try and get those early?
The order is as they are listed in the journal.
Base Game -> HoT -> Path of Fire with the living worlds in between. That said you can play them in any order (if you don't mind some story confusion) and the mounts added in path of fire certainly make HoT easier.
I feel like the non-flying mounts (mastery 1-3 unlocked) are sufficient for almost all situations you’ll encounter while gearing up/exploring and you‘ll be just a little slower than players with flying mounts.
So imo it’s not worth to spend the 250g+time for Griffon and daaaays of running around + crafting for Skyscale before having played through each story once, gotten enough mastery points, having good exo or even some ascended gear and crafting disciplines leveled.
Griffon roost should be in Crystal Desert and Skyscale roost in Dragonfall. I think playing the path of fire story is required to get the achievement that unlocks the collections for those mounts and having all Lw4 episodes is required for Skyscale specifically.
Personally I‘m doing profitable metas etc. to get gear and save up gold (target: 400g in my wallet) first, so I can unlock griffon more or less instantly without going near bankrupt.
Unlocking griffon before getting geared wouldn’t have a good return on investment because it doesn’t enable me to farm much faster. I‘ve shifted from farming HoT to Lw4 maps recently to prepare for the skyscale requirements (250 of each map currency + some gold etc. required).
When I get sufficient resources I’ll gather some guild members and speed run through the achievements wherever possible.
