I would add one caveat to unlocking mounts: If you care about the actual experience and not just efficiency, play through the story up to their natural unlock point without them. The intended flow of HoT is for the jungle to start out very difficult to navigate and you gradually learn your way around through masteries and simply learning how places are connected. Mounts trivialize a lot of that. If it's to traverse a place you're already familiar with, that's fine, but the exploration aspect is pretty gutted if you start with pretty much infinite movement options.
As someone who just doesn't function well with people, I've essentially locked myself to the open world aspect alone. I don't experience the game beyond that, no fractals, pvp, wvw, strikes and so on. Only the open fields alone, but the random small events and interactions with others. I still have a blast, even if I'm only experiencing a fraction of the game and am very limited. I love GW2.
Same. I love exploring the new places on the maps but I feel so lost or so alone sometimes. Only if there is a guild for people like us, just for the open world, jumping puzzles etc

Sometimes writing down a few goals can help you feel grounded in what you are playing towards and help with not feeling overwhelmed! For example I always play through the story and 100% map completion of new zones, then level all masteries. Once I finished that I wanted to craft my first ascended piece and looked up how and did it! Now I'm exploring WvW for a piece of a legendary I'm working towards. This game is amazing
hello I wanted to know how we got skill 4 on mounts the one in green (2:57) I'm looking for it everywhere but I can't find it anywhere! Thank you for your help
I often wondered why no new "traditional dungeons" are made any more, and I think I've figured it out: GW2 dungeons have a "story" mode and an "explorable" mode. Explorable has 3 paths, but to unlock it is necessary to do the story mode first. The problem is, when doing story mode dungeons with a random group of people, those players who watch the cutscenes Always fall behind those who skip them! The advantage of fractals is the absence of cutscenes or story, making it easier to keep even a random group together, as well as making them infinitely replayable.
Nice vid 👍 Yeah my first instinct was to work on story and map completion. The story is pretty good if you have the patience to pay attention to it! I bought all the living worlds and expansions as online shop sales popped up. 😅
Like me im kinda new to gw2 and liking the story path so maybe it abit boring because the games have been out like 11 years, but as my frist 80 i did story in order to catch up and learning about the lore, i would recommending this. otherwise just watch some YT clips about summing the lore up lol and go like this in
Amazing video. Imnew in the game, I left my world of warcraft, and guess what I found this games, and i love the levelling experience. I'm exited to still have this amazing experience after 80. Thank you again for this video. 😊
New player here. I haven't bought any expansions yet as I did want to invest money in a game I didn't know I was going to like. I reached lv80 in literally 2 days, with 0 idea of what to do, where to go, how to group, how to craft and all the other features in the game. The game has too many currencies and all these niche areas and does a really terrible job at teaching you the game. I tried to look for some videos and clicked this one, as extensive as it is, I'm just as confused as I started.
Awesome video as always, Lara. Fashion is good, but expert griffon flying stunts are the real endgame for me. The Griffon Academy guild does some insanely cool stuff with it. Highly recommend players check out their videos and the Acrobats of the Skies ones. Like most I first found it underwhelming, but when you get buttons set well and a feel for it, it's a massive game changer. Especially with a Skyscale and lvl 3 Jade Bot Gliding Booster for height gain anywhere, it's insanely satisfying to zoom at across landscapes you previously slogged through on foot, and organically pull off swerves cleanly between obstacles, threading through arches and gaps at breakneck speeds. Turns what you thought was just a good MMO into something like the Red Bull air race.
What is the best path once you reach 80 and then go directly into Secrets of the Obscure without any flying mount, jade bot, and most importantly any Elite skill at all with 0 points left to spend?
I came back to GW2 after... 10 years :D And I don't know about mounts. I mean, I beat the main story. So I can't really go unlock gliding or especially dragon right away, cause I have Living Story to play, then I will to to HoT for gliding, then other LS, then PoF... etc. Or should I just skip at least the first LS seasons between base game and HoT?
Nothing more to do now got to end game got legendary all but all left just grind Raid strike fractal very dry wvw over spent time for break come back 1 year 😅

Do we know if there's going to be a Steam Release Anniversary sale? I'm really looking forward to buying the full game but not willing to spend over $130+.
"After 11 years I almost have full Legendary..." is really not a selling point. It's pretty fkn stupid actually that Anet makes gearing up to Lego that hard.
does it mean that to be able to get gliding - you have to unlock story? Same for all mounts and needed skills aswell? if yes, just imaging how much money do new players need to spend at once, hm... 100$ for game and all addons and at least HoT/PoF stories + some stashes etc :D well, it looks like overkill for any newcomers.
is there ANYTHING you should do BEFORE level 80 ? i ask because to me spending time leveling seems like uter waste of time and i dont understand why people say "take your time" and "dont rush" ....
You level pretty fast in GW2. Also, even at level 80, you will be going back to Tyria maps for completing map points, for dailies, achievements, etc. So, while leveling, you can work on those so it doesn't feel inefficient or "wasted" for you to level. If you are following the Tyria story quests and doing side things on the maps while you are there, you will easily hit level 80 before the end of the base game storyline. As for the end of your question, I think people say "don't rush and take your time" because in some MMOs, everything is so end game based that people rush leveling to get to end game. Low level maps have plenty of things to do even by max level characters. There's no reason to rush to get to the "fun part of the game." The entire journey is intended to be fun. That said, if the only thing that interests you are the lvl 80 raids or something, then yeah, speed level rush it so you can unlock them.
I play gw2 abaut a year and I looks like there's a lot of content to hit, but wen you try to do it is not that much, dungeons are dead and the rewards you get are a waist of time, the skins are bad too, raids I tri this one and there's no training commanders and the ones that are there have hard thing to acoplish as a new player like full legendary gear, on top of that iven those guis have problems to find teammembers, fractals are the same super slow progresión thanks to AR, the only people they do this content are beguiners or advanced players that only do dailies or fractal number 42,strikes missions are the same hard to find groups and only dailies, there's lots of meta events but just a few of them that are vrily worthy, gearing in this game is a nightmare, ascended Armour and weapond is soooo rare soooo hard to obtain that is a nightmare, pvp is controlled be the meta, terrible team match making, wvw is worse in comparison with pvp there's no limits with stats and gear soo you will need to be a top player o go meta, very hard to enjoy the game every time a sit dawn in the computer just to find aut I'm not making eny progress
I would add one caveat to unlocking mounts: If you care about the actual experience and not just efficiency, play through the story up to their natural unlock point without them.
0:09 what’s guild war stew? Sounds good
I often wondered why no new "traditional dungeons" are made any more, and I think I've figured it out:
GW2 dungeons have a "story" mode and an "explorable" mode.
The glider is gonna be fantastic. I find myself jumping off ledges just so they don't have to go around.
That was a fantastic overview.
Nice vid 👍 Yeah my first instinct was to work on story and map completion. The story is pretty good if you have the patience to pay attention to it! I bought all the living worlds and expansions as online shop sales popped up. 😅
I did full story experience first before doing anything else. Dont regret it. The story is awesome!
I collected scales, got the medicines and collected eggs for a skyscale... only to run into the paywall of LW season 4...
Like me im kinda new to gw2 and liking the story path so maybe it abit boring because the games have been out like 11 years, but as my frist 80 i did story in order to catch up and learning about the lore, i would recommending this. otherwise just watch some YT clips about summing the lore up lol and go like this in
What an amazing Video, I am a new player and this channel is beautiful thank you so much !!
very helpful. thank you!
You can actually buy hero points in WVW for those that lazy run around map.
YOUR ASURA IS SO CUTE!! 🥺🥺 💗
is the story just the hearts around the map that are like mini objectives? if not where do i start the main quest
You make the best videos for new players ❤
WVW team chat is the true end game content
What is the best path once you reach 80 and then go directly into Secrets of the Obscure without any flying mount, jade bot, and most importantly any Elite skill at all with 0 points left to spend?
what do you do after you finish story and are geared up but don't pvp, wvw, dungeons, raids or anything like that? Just make alts?
Ima be linking this to new players when they ask what's even in the game at 2AM in LA :3
I came back to GW2 after... 10 years :D And I don't know about mounts. I mean, I beat the main story. So I can't really go unlock gliding or especially dragon right away, cause I have Living Story to play, then I will to to HoT for gliding, then other LS, then PoF... etc.
Or should I just skip at least the first LS seasons between base game and HoT?
make a video telling what to do after having all the legendaries for all classes please
How do Raids in GW2 compare to Mythic in WoW or Savage in FFXIV?
Nothing more to do now got to end game got legendary all but all left just grind Raid strike fractal very dry wvw over spent time for break come back 1 year 😅
What a great video Laranity.
I always say this to whoever asks me this question.
Play whatever game mode to grind yourself to lvl 81 ;)
for those using this video after Janthir Wilds, anything major change here?
u should make a video abt the races
Video starts: 0:57
I've downloaded and take engineers, but gonna take mecha. But if I gonna take that job so I must bought the dlc end dragons for acces the job?
Yes. You'll need end of dragons expansion to access mechanist elite spec.
"There is some true strategy needed in PvP..." and shows a clip of necro just spitting out condis XD
I built a rough templet for the completionist out there. In case someone else mite find it useful 😮

So helpful thank u!
please please please can someone tell me how to get those beautiful Depth of Field Effects!? i mean look at those!!! is so gorgeous!!! i cant get it to work on my reshade :(
Is there any advantage buying the Complete Edition before reaching Lvl 80?
Do we know if there's going to be a Steam Release Anniversary sale? I'm really looking forward to buying the full game but not willing to spend over $130+.
Is it worth crafting ascended if you want celestial gear?
Can you make a guide to get into raids?
"After 11 years I almost have full Legendary..." is really not a selling point. It's pretty fkn stupid actually that Anet makes gearing up to Lego that hard.
The HOT hero point challenges gives me nightmares...
This Video is just Amazing !!!!❤️👍
does it mean that to be able to get gliding - you have to unlock story?
That said, if the only thing that interests you are the lvl 80 raids or something, then yeah, speed level rush it so you can unlock them.
before 80, you need to learn your class
11 years & not having all legendaries is wiiiiiild!! How long does it take to get them all????
