I'm gonna be completely honest right now. I had never heard of you, I never searched for this, it's been a while since I've watched anything to do with game development. Yet this video showed up in my recommended, I watched it and got hooked, this is a very interesting video, well made, easy to understand and even comes with a link to an actually pretty bloody fun game...I definitely think I want to stick around, if only to know of any new games from you, Word Bounce is really fun and honestly...maybe an extreme or endless mode would have made it even better..but that's just so I have an excuse to keep playing it other than it just being really fun
Id like to attend one of these game jams, so I can learn how all the art is done, and a bunch of other things. I learn better in person and I figure getting to experience something like a game jam could give me an idea of what I should do to start. I know about the videos on RUclips, and I've watched them, but I need to start the physical learning process.
this game is AMAZING, i played both hard and normal mode and was suprised but amazed by both. controls and mechanics are super intuitive (i played it before watching the vid)
I like the concept, I remember you posting about that game on twitter and then you posted a "Every game I made" video without any inclusion of it. Now I understand. Looks cool !
This makes me nostalgic for the old chain games the RPG Maker community used to develop on the regular years ago. Somebody would essentially make the first chapter of an RPG, send it to someone else who would make the second chapter, then somebody else who would make the third chapter, etc. It led to some really fun and interesting final projects. I remember thinking the idea was amazing back at the time too, and it worked really well.
Great to see your entry to this jam. I've seen a few different games from this jam and it's awesome to see how different they can be when following the simple jam rules.
I've been watching your videos since the ultimate game jam rounds and I loved it, no matter how many times you explain how game jams work it always catches my attention. When I was a kid I used to try and learned using Java script and after watching your videos it re sparked the passion to learn code and make games, thank you. P.s Taking a high school course that teaches you how to code using Java script.
Hey vimlark, did you at the start when started using construct 2 watch a ton of tutorial videos then started working on monkey with guns and other games? Because i watched just couple tutorial videos but not sure to continue to do that.
Best thing is just jump in and make something. You'll learn as you develop. I watched a few tutorials, made a few games and now I make tutorials on construct 😅🤣
Awesome idea and great adaptation of what you were working with (a great balance of change + staying true to the original) :) ALSO: The link in the description to Zyger's channel is broken
As an added bonus, you could possibly add a secret word which has a very low chance of spawning, I would say do something like "KONG" referencing Donkey Kong Country for the Nintendo Gameboy Color.
can you make advance tutorial for construct 3?, doesn't matter if it was free or pay course I'm so desperate to find advance tutorial for so long and you seem like someone understand construct 3 really well :D
Why not have an infinite mode that goes up to 8 platforms and have additional things like big projectiles, flurries, beams and lightning be added for every additional level
Can I post my game on Twitter even if I haven't been nominated? I accidentally made a game that absolutely fits the topic when I joined another game jam.
I am interested in becoming a game developer. However, I would like to know if there are any game jams in Idaho where I could learn from other developers. If anybody knows could you point me in a direction. I have only ever made a ball roll on a 2 d and 3 d platform, but I was like 9 so I Don't really know how it was done.
This game is pretty fun, but unfortunately it didn't last very long, I quickly beat hard mode without taking any damage. Can you add an ultra-hard mode? Ultra-hard mode would give you only 1 hp & you would have to get 8 words.
Yeah, the chain letter jam was such a cool and unique, concept! I really enjoyed making a game for this, and yours was very cool! :D
epic
Hey yannick, nice to meet u again buddy😁😁😁
@@GL-Broz It was about time :D

I'm really interested to see the very last games of this jam and then trace back their individual chain to see how they evolved overall
When the video started I thought that was where this was heading.
Me too. 😎
“I don’t have a problem. You have a problem.” Our only problem is we can’t get you to stop 😂
Yeah to.stop apologizing

Big fan of your content, and even bigger fan of your positivity! Great influence in the Indie Game Dev Community!

Your game was so cool! And this jam was honestly such a fun thing to do, like you said, in a years time it will be insane to see how much it's grown!
He has grown A LOT as a dev

This was such a fun game! I'm actually working on my submission now so it's cool to see you posting a video about it😁
I love how it’s called the chainLETTERjam and one of the central themes of the original game was letters
Great to see your entry to this jam. I've seen a few different games from this jam and it's awesome to see how different they can be when following the simple jam rules.

Such a great Idea for a Jam. I hope to I can find time to work on my submission.

YOO!!! so cool that my palette got in a vimlark vid
It might be an honor to be nominated by miziziziz
5:11 i spent the entire video thinking what that bullet was
Pretty interesting concept^^
As an added bonus, you could possibly add a secret word which has a very low chance of spawning, I would say do something like "KONG" referencing Donkey Kong Country for the Nintendo Gameboy Color.
0:13 I swear he's saying it with 5 iz's
Woah you did another jam?? I never saw that coming... ;)
I loved the idea
You might have a game jam addiction but that’s ok
Idea: you play as a headless character, and the way you progress is using items as your head, EX: Bombs, grappling hooks, etc.
"Miziziziziz. Four izs."
Person who has never seen a jam: _I agree with the thumbnail._
Are you gonna make the spike timer longer than 30 seconds at some point?
Game jam live stream: happen
Monkeys on the screen: it's free real estate
Secret Santa Jam was pretty sick too, you should check it out Vimlark
This is so cool.
Game Jammin'!
That would be fun to join a jam like this
8:36 isn't that exactly equal game?
Yay another one
3:42 apple bees lol
There could be soooooo many games by the end. 😅
More game jams are cool, you are totally okay! :)
very cool
How are you uploading so fast
I have the strange ability to find people I kind of know on the internet. Exaple: I kinda know polyphorge.
8:57 tsk tsk, messing it up after you told us how to say it?
Can confirm you have a problem , I'm a Scientist 🥼 and I've done the research 📓
can you make advance tutorial for construct 3?, doesn't matter if it was free or pay course I'm so desperate to find advance tutorial for so long and you seem like someone understand construct 3 really well :D

NEW VIMLARK UPLOAD NEW VIMLARK UPLOAD NEW VIMLARK UPLOAD NEW VIMLARK UPLOAD
for some reason i feel like this gamejam could last forever if people could apply to start a chain!
0:42 JonTron is that you?
Damn I wanna try but I can't program.
Yo im early! Love the work man keep it up! :)
Why not have an infinite mode that goes up to 8 platforms and have additional things like big projectiles, flurries, beams and lightning be added for every additional level
It would be cool if word told a story
Hmm, this could be made into a fun mobile game!
Can I post my game on Twitter even if I haven't been nominated? I accidentally made a game that absolutely fits the topic when I joined another game jam.
Nice
8:29 dr letters there are children here
Took a while, but I beat the hard mode without using the parachute! :D
I kind of Think it would be better if Dr. letters came back and trapped you in the dungeon in the dungeon was the game

I do infact have a problem, with my Codeeee

I guess I can just speedrun it.
Speedruning hard mode no damage is just right.
this is kinda like The Textorcist
Finally! A consistent, family-friendly game jam devlog youtuber!
It’d be cool if you could get renominated down the line along your chain
Who have the video a thumbs down? 😡
