I was only four when Rocky IV came out and didn't see it until I was ten. I found the training scenes from the movie amazing, especially the scene where he was working his abs. I never tried it but I'm sure its not as easy as it looks and requires quite a bit of strength from the abdominal muscles. Stallone was almost 40 at the time and to see him still able to perform that exercise over 20 years later is nothing short of amazing.
When I was 15, and Rocky IV came out, and he did this exercise in it, I thought it had to be trick photography after trying it and not being able to do a single rep. I was about 2 months into what turned out to be a training program that I still do 27.5 yrs later, at the time. So I kept trying to do this movement, and then about 6 months later, it happened! I was glad to know it wasn't trick photography, after all, and let me tell you, this movement makes your abs so sore!!
Good men are hard to find, i think sly is only megastar of hollywood who inspired many people around the world and in every country great, your fans love you sir.
Believe it or not, the way he’s doing them in the newer vid is actually harder than the way he was doing them in Rocky IV. Mainly because he was going down farther. Dragon flags are much harder the farther down you go.
Call it what you will , its still an awesome movement, but Stallone puts a slight twist of his hips in at the end of the movement to hit his intercostal muscles...so hence the name was slightly altered. Originally made famous by Bruce Lee the "Flags" were one of his staple core moves and as far as I can tell from Bruce Lees training logs that he kept his hips straight all the way up and all the way down without twisting....Thx for the comment tho!!
Oh for sure! hey thx for the comment! and congratulations on being able to do this movement! It is quite difficult but well worth the effort. Keep up the great workouts !!
I agree with you I don't use steroid this is why I don't be able to do this. but I can start using and be stronger than Sylvester... you can understand the real shit, or still believing in fake shit, its your life its your choice
pepe pepito He busts his ass to get like this. Sure he may use stuff, but at that age you have to. Energy and Testosterone arent exactly in strong supply when youre pushing 70. He still puts the serious work in tho...probably more so than most lazy teenagers today.
The mental strength to do this doesnt come out of a bottle or a needle. This is about the mind nothing to do with the body. Few twenty year olds have the drive to train the way Stallone trains now
Will do. Hey, I also dress up as Rocky at costume conventions and get A LOT of praise (Wolverine, Rambo, and Batman, too). Check out my pics on my FB page at "Lonstermash" if you want. I really look like Wolverine people say
Justin a of course they're real. He started out with the one on his chest and shoulder to try and cover up some of the veins from his peck tear back in the day and just kept adding to it.
Oh OK I didn't know that. He's my favorite actor and he's a nice human being meaning he doesn't let the celeb status go to his head and be a snob or anything. I have a lot of respect for him
@@userwhaa drop your email and I'll send you a quick video at the gym tomorrow. You seen lightly trained guy's doing ab work on a pull up bar, same ppl can do this. Basic ab work
Whos to say that he doesnt do these on an incline board, maybe he does and just didnt get filmed eh? Quite possible.... besides the result he has achieved thus far for his age are remarkable dont you think?
You are welcome. He inspired me too so much if you knew... Take a look also to this tribute to bruce lee, he was doing the same at the 60's! But the Stallonne excercices looks harder because the movement go high and far up... ruclips.net/video/UgZfXD_f8IE/видео.html

I want to see how you look when youre his age. The only exercise youll be able to do at that point is to take shit.
