    So the reason it missed a few years of his pictures was because he was actually homeless for a long time. He wrote the story of Rocky on the back of a cigarette packet. He went to the producers of a film making company (who were also short of a penny at the time) and told them his big ideas for a low budget film which would make cinematic history. However, he told them that he would only sell them the story if he could play Rocky. They refused at first but since their company was falling apart they soon accepted. In order to survive he sold his dog for food (The dog in Rocky ACTUALLY belonged to Stallone in real life) and once the movie went to cinemas and became a huge hit, the first thing he bought with his cheque was his dog back. Not a hot meal, not a house to sleep in, but his loyal companion.

I looked up to him and schwarzenegger. They got me into the gym they got me hungry. I got a Gym set for xmas when i was 13 in 1985. I got into weights, fitness. I wanted to be like them. I wanted to be a action man, tough. I joined the army at 17, Special Forces Commandos when 30. Still a solid fit guy today at 44. I doubt i would have done any of that if I didn't look up to these guys when i was a teenager. They molded my mindset. I owe them the life I lived. • @vincewarren1271
      @vincewarren1271 8 лет назад +1

      ST M he was born in 1946, Cobra was released in May of 1986. So that means it was filmed sometime in probably mid to late 85'. Age 38-39ish. I think some of these photos have to be off. At age 29 he was ripped/cut... By 30 for Rocky he was much fuller. Not buff just husky. He changed his body for films every few months it's so hard to tell where he was at physique/age wise.

    • @vincewarren1271
      @vincewarren1271 8 лет назад +3

      ST M I believe Rocky 4 was his best physique overall. It was 6 months after Rambo 2 which he was in amazing shape as well. He did the movies together on purpose I believe because he said while he trained for one movie, he was gracious that it allowed him to be ready for the following movie that came right after. Rambo n Rocky are perfect together because they both involve an astounding physique. He was just as cut but bigger in Rocky 4. Makes sense, he's not out in the wilderness, he's in the ring. Rambo 3 he was huge as well but I don't feel that he was as cut as Rocky 4. Age may play a factor, he was over 40 finally. Of course I'm being picky because I'm talking about the difference of 1-2% of body fat for a person who was probably one of the best shape people on the planet already. Yes indeed he looked badass in Cobra. I believe his style was what drew attention. The shades and bangs while dressed in black... Matches his 5 o'clock shadow perfectly. It must have been tough to time all that perfectly for the film lol

Its a great opportunity to take in the fact that I am 22 now and this man is still alive at the age of 75. Sylvester Stallone better be with us for at least 10 to 15 more years just because how great he truly is, If it was not for him I dont think I would be here today bc of the mental struggles i have to go through on a day to day bases.

      The scary thing is every year after 21 feels like it's going faster and faster. At least for me anyway. I'm 37 years old, and it honestly feels like I turned 21 about five years ago. A year feels like a couple of months to me now. I really wish I could slow it down. Preferably, I'd like to physically stay 30 years old, but keep gaining the life experience and knowledge I've been gaining mentally as I age. Oh well.

    It amazes me how Stallone - an actor -achieved such a level of physical perfection in his late 30s and early 40s, when most professional athletes start to let themselves go by that age. He was and continues to be an inspiration. Even if his detractors bring up his steroid usage to discount his physical accomplishments, they must admit that he still demonstrated a whole lot of hard work and discipline, even with performance enhancing drugs, in order to keep up a physique like that in his 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. You just can't be slothful and take steroids and expect to be as lean, cut, and muscular as Stallone has been. It is especially impressive when considering that his time was split between directing, screen writing, producing and acting, and yet all professional athletes have to devote their time to is just focusing on their body and sport, and many of them don't look anywhere as impressive as Stallone did when he made Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rocky III, and Rocky IV. He struck the ideal balance of definition, vascularity, symmetry, and tapering. He was neither too gargantuan, nor was he too slight in frame. His physique set the standard by which so many young boys, who grew up in the 80s and 90s, measure themselves by today.
