The more I progress, the more I think your format is the way to go.That is interviews introducing new vocabulary/listening intermingled with easier listening where word order can be focused on.
This is an excellent video. You're teaching methodology is very good. I speak very good Chinese, but when I speak simple sentences sometimes and make mistakes. I'm learning how to speak even better Chinese using your excellent videos.
*TOO FAST?* Control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video *5% at a time* on *desktop computers and laptops* OR *25% at a time* on *smartphones!* Access the playback speed controls as follows: *Desktop Computers and Laptops:* open the video, then go to the *lower right* of the video's screen and click on the *settings icon* (it looks like a GEAR). On the upper right of the options window that comes up, you will see the link *"custom".* Click on the "custom" link to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 5% at a time. *Smartphones:* open the video and go to the *upper right* of the video's screen. You will see *3 dots.* Click on them and you will see the link to open the *"playback speed"* controls. Click on this link and you will be able to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 25% at a time. Note that viewing the video on desktop computer/laptops gives you *greater control* over the playback speed (5% vs 25% on smartphones).
You are the best teacher I have ever seen. Your teaching style is amazing, I have learnt many things from your video. I have been learning chinese for 1 years. But I didn’t find anyone like you. Your teaching style is completely different. Xie xie laoshi.
This is a greatest channel about teaching Chinese I've ever found.I saw your channel by chance and definitely, I've never regreted about subscribing this channel because variety of useful videos you've uploaded.Thank to you,my Chinese skills have been improved a lot.. Thank you for everything!!! Hello from Vietnam!!
Great idea to include action verbs with the nouns. But the sentences are much too slow. Maybe you could speak slowly once and at normal speed the second time. Thanks for the great video!
wow guys this video is really a level up! the sound quality, as well as post, has improved a lot! one question: is there a reason that the measure word for pajamas is 套 and not 件 or 条 like other clothing?
I was referring to the SET of pajamas (shirt and pants) so I used the measure word for sets, tao4 (套). If I were referring to INDIVIDUAL items of clothing then I can use jian4 (件) or if the item is long and thin (like a pair of pants), I can use tiao2 (条).
Thank you for the reply. I majored in Mandarin Chinese in college and wanted to keep up on it. It's amazing how fast you forget things, and I really appreciate your videos for helping me with this!
I think many times, they can be interchangeable. And yes, it can be used for shaving cream, etc. 刮胡子之前要在脸上抹/涂一层剃须膏。However, 涂 also means "to scribble, to scrawl". In this case, you can't use 抹 instead.
Hi Tommy! This is what I undestand: when 双 is used, it usually means the thing is born/created/made that way. for example: 一双眼睛,一双袜子,一双鞋子等 when 对 is used, it usually means one match the other in some way. for example: 一对夫妻,一对儿女,一对耳环等

On my computer I use the shortcut ( < ) or ( > ) to slow down and speed up.

Hello, I love the video. Just wanted to ask if the verb pen1 was used with only perfume or anything you would “spray”.
Hi Sam, pen1 is used to describe any liquid that comes out in a spouts, gush, sprinkle or "spray" fashion.
Thank you for the reply. I majored in Mandarin Chinese in college and wanted to keep up on it. It's amazing how fast you forget things, and I really appreciate your videos for helping me with this!

Can 抹and涂 be used interchangeably and can they be used for shaving cream, aftershave or sun tan lotion?
I think many times, they can be interchangeable. And yes, it can be used for shaving cream, etc.

Hi Eileen, The things that come in pairs normally use "shuāng" 双,why are earrings different? I noticed that you used "yī dui ěrhuán.
Hi Tommy! This is what I undestand:
when 双 is used, it usually means the thing is born/created/made that way. for example: 一双眼睛,一双袜子,一双鞋子等
when 对 is used, it usually means one match the other in some way. for example: 一对夫妻,一对儿女,一对耳环等
谢谢您的答案 但是我很糊涂。别担心我能接受 就是一对耳环。
