    The fifth wicket - 88mph off a shortened run, and he was coming off the physio's bench. What a player!

      it was the oval on test 5 that was his official farewell, Flintoff was a virtual passenger for the remainder of that series
      but one final act when he threw down the stumps from mid off to trigger a collapse - when the opposition looked like they might have set a platform for a potential victory (albeit a remote one), but that act swung the momentum of the match much earlier than what called for and England won easily

    Every team should always have a genuinely fast aggressive bowler (90mph+) for when the ball isn't swinging or when a pitch is slow. England have always relied too much on medium/fast seam bowlers. Darren Gough, Devon Malcolm and Freddie Flintoff were always aggressive and fast and batsmen didn't like facing them!

    I am intrigued by the commentary at 1:00 minute: A mini-masterclass. This made mention more or less regarding the faulty flaws in the execution of this shot. If this would have missed the fielder, the prose would be: "Slightly uppish, but a good shot." I could just imagine his uttering this.

    • @amzadkhan3199
      @amzadkhan3199 6 лет назад

      Thats the point mate if u hit in gap its a good shot but if it goes in hand its a bad shot. Good shot account for connection and placement.

      @eddyvideostar 6 лет назад +1

      Amzad Khan: Listen to the master-classy commentary: Why would the commentator delve so deeply and eloquently regarding the lack of proper technique in this shot, when, if the ball was struck a couple of feet adrift from the fielder, this would have rendered this shot perfect? My point is, this is how a faux master class is conducted. They are paid to find frivolous ways to fill the time.

    • @amzadkhan3199
      @amzadkhan3199 6 лет назад

      To be very frank he technique is bit odd he was playing away from his body which is not a good thing in test matches. But still some do get success with flawed technique and if they play a good then the commentator has to complement them as well.

      Nasser is the worst commentator on Sky, he drives me mad with the absolute nonsense he comes out with 90% of the time. He'll say something and then IMMEDIATELY contradict himself without any explanation.

      Definitely not out, technology proved it, but unfortunately it was before the review system came in, so unfortunately he had to walk, but I think 💭 that Strauss knew it touched the ground, and should have done the right thing, but unfortunately he didn’t.
