We have a traditional side of wing chun and a comprehensive side. Depends what you want. Tai Chi is good, but to use it for self defence is not easy. You really need a good foundation on the basics first by learning about body positioning and know how to balance and transfer your body weight. It's a shame you live so far away. Master Wong, using less energy , esp for me and my age (63). like the preamtive , attack chops , fist strikes , elbows, fore arms and low kicks and knee shots ! they are my quisine and delectibles of good training. And not to mention... Power! using small weights , medicine balls, rowing on the boflex machine, and power on the punching bags is all beneficial for me ! My take ? Power, power of the upper torso, shoulders, arms , wrists, and of course, our hands! "Power is everything... for us all". Look at the power Master Wong possesses !!! You're awesome!
By-jong stance is very accurate. Your lead leg is out, and depending on the footwork and acceleration, you will have no problem taking out opponent first hand without being touch. For example, a chasse bas or oblique stomp kick will do a lot damage aim to the soft target's of the knee. A simple attack can be followed up with a strong combination.

this was good, Im myselft a martial artist, and I use Brucee Leees defending stopping sidekick frpm Jet Kune Do, this is the best, easiest to learn and most effective technic you can use to stop an attack, its enough to do this 10-20 times to be successfull, and if you do this 20-30 times a week then you will be so good att this that you can call you an expert, then you will have perfect timing

What you're not being told is to create space and get to your back. From there you can work. Reach back and get ahold of toes (shoes are easy to grab) rip and pull while blocking the other side with and arm or repositioning your leg. There is ALWAYS an option if the will is there. Be safe.
Xoreign you shouldn't kick that high, or you have a problem. it will be very unlikely they can grab your leg if it's a low kick. But this is where you have to learn about your enemy and pick your attacks carefully.

I just wanna satisfy my dad whose in heaven he cried cause I got jumped multiple times I just wanna lose weight so Im no longer obese in america master Wong its hard to take classes they told me I'm to old to learn martial arts its very hard to find a teacher that can train me especially in harsh training not only that I'm fighting my own addiction so I wanna train in hopes of replacing my addiction by learning wing chun to be honest master Wong I don't wanna be fat no more I just wanna keep to my self and learn about knowledge of self arms I heard wing chun is not for everybody unless they wanna improve there health and stamina me I wanna become strong and fight my addiction of smoking tobacco because I don't wanna get sick I just have no place to train in america because over here its not done to improve your mind and body its done to keep you running in a circle to never learning anything useful

+Luis Carlo Everyone can lose weight. You just need to follow a few things, which are knowing what you have to/shouldn't eat or drink, how to exercise and rest, and reduce your stress. I do not think you can defend yourself with only Wing Chun. Consider taking up boxing, Brazilian jiujitsu, and then Wing Chun. Wing Chun is effective in some situations, but not all and it takes decades of practice to master it.

that leg block on the tibia is not going to work for that young tall dude. In general using legs in a fight requires years of practicing for balance and flexibility. This dude will get knock down if he tries this again any decent boxer. It sure would work for master Wong since he has the precision, balance, power, focus, awareness and speed. But for people who don't have years of kicking in a gym if you lift a leg in a fight you will end up loosing balance and on the floor.
