See how he got on with the headlock, a situation that is fairly common in todays confrontations. During the lesson Master Wong points out useful tips to insure that safety precautions are taken in to place while applying the technique. If he did I don't think anyone would be able to get out of a fully locked headlock.
***** Do you mean a closed choke like at 7:13? You would have to get off his knee and then he could be thrown. They're talking about balance front to back there in the video, but it can be broken side to side.
j miller I have an easier time getting out of rear chokes because I find leverage is easier to achieve and being able to lock there fingers and throw them hard. But a fully locked side headlock full force is a nightmare for me.
I think it's because I tend to relax in that position to easily then it's no escape.
In my opinion these are some of the worst ways to escape a headlock. Jiu-jistu is a better skill than wing chun.

Thank you, I get bullied everyday at my middle school and I didn't tell any parent or staff because they would just call me a tattle tale. It was last week when this boy put me in a headlock I did exactly what you said and I got out of it, he never bullied me again

With the positions Master Wong is demonstrating, if your attacker has significant hair, you can also grab that to force his head back.

i learned something different were you push forward on your attacker and then pull both of his feet out which causes him to release the headlock to caught his fall and apply a knee or angle lock

Thanks master wong. Nice variation of this is to reach round the neck with fingers and sweep the leg while pulling the head back. I've used this with much taller opponents and it's quite effective.

Master Wong, while I enjoy your videos very much, I would really like to see some finishing moves. Not killing blows, of course. Here, you show us how to choke, but what then? What could one possibly do AFTER the choke? I mean you can choke him until he loses his consciousness, but what else? My teacher showed us some take-downs, after choking the man, you pull him towards the ground and strike him with the fist. Stuff like that, you know? Would really appreciate if you did some examples of these kinds of finishing moves. Just to make sure the bastard will lose his desire to fight me any further.
