    If they actually sold an affordable EV that people wanted they would sell more than a million. Like if the Bolt looked more like a larger gen2 Volt (or the new Prius) it would sell way more.

      Detroit based automakers' business models depend heavily on the ability to fleece customers in key market segments. As in, "the world's most profitable" auto market.
      The Bolt was never in one of those segments.
      Their challenge now is to figure out how to convince customers to come and get themselves fleeced for EVs in the same number as they did for ICE vehicles.
      Competition is making that seem to be a remote prospect.

Once that happens, they ignore all other shareholders and start acting like a small private ownership group to enrich themselves without going to jail. This is what destroyed boeing, gm, ford, etc. Another indicator is debt. Why do so many massive companies paying out dividends and claiming to be profitable have 10s or 100s of billions in debt? A company should not have any debt if they can fund a dividend, otherwise it means all their profits were fake. They shift debt around to fake profits and run companies into bankruptcy while getting super rich. Where is your integrity, Autoline? Sean McElroy just stated three different Lucid vehicles have 420, 406 and 513 "Miles of Range", which could be no further from the truth - You are saying if a consumer buys one of these vehicles, they will get this mileage. Not true, and you are presenting misleading information as facts in your EV zealotry/over-enthusiasm. Both Sean and his father John McElroy allowing him to mislead the public are doing a disservice to their audience misleading the uninitiated as supposed auto-industry expert media reporters.

    • @BTC_Minarchist
      @BTC_Minarchist Месяц назад +1

      They're just quoting the manufacturer's range numbers, which are certified by the EPA.
      Now, the EPA method is flawed, and you never get the advertised mileage unless under ideal (unreal) conditions, but that's not John or Sean's issue. They're not independent range testers.
      BTW same goes for ICE mpg ratings, except no one cares enough to ever look into it.

    • @onnieraycar
      @onnieraycar Месяц назад

      These are not accurate numbers from the EPA - They are contrived by the EPA, and there are too many variables to the actual mileage obtained - At what percent charge of the battery? BEV batteries should be charged to less than 100% - And what happens to the mileage as the battery degrades? Mileage will become less than the misleading number the EPA says it is.
