      Great review! Really enjoyed this take on the Lyriq.
      While the styling towards the rear is strange, think it is much better looking than the iX and would take the Lyriq any day over the iX or other competitors like the EQE. Looking forward to seeing the V-series Lyriq when that finally debuts.

    Good review. Rattles you described are specific to your car, my Lyriq doesn’t have that. No cars matches the Lyric at it’s price point!

  • @G-Rated

    I think majority of Lyriq reviews are excessively nitpicky as reviewers struggle to find faults with the vehicle. I honestly don’t understand the imaginary difference in build quality/materials between it and its German rivals. I honestly think people just say that because it sounds right to them. Tesla Model X may be sportier and BMW IX more luxurious but they also aren’t in the Lyriq’s direct price bracket. They’re substantially more expensive, and I don’t think Cadillac will have an issue competing with them at those price points.

      You hit it on the head. It's unfortunate that they have the vehicle for a limited time and parrot issues from years past. GM makes cars for other brands and provides other tech that most people don't know. Ferrari, Audi, Ford, and others utilize the magnetic ride suspension that GM pioneered. Acura/Honda will be using the Utium platform for their next gen EV's. Stop hating on GM when you wear their socks.

      It's so tiresome and corny!! Reviewers feel if they hate on GM products it some how makes their Reviews Cool and Hip. Even when they're just trying to come up with something negative(nitpicking)!! When the product is actually rather good!

      Agreed. Things like. The vent knob could be better..the radio could be better…it floats like a caddy. Drive a 60s or 70s caddy and tell me the Lyriq drives like a caddy. It feels like all the other suvs out there now.

    Well let say this 3 weeks in I LOVE my Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 2. I'm still learning the car inside and out. So far no complaint, only the EVgo charge stations not one around my location.I can live with that.

      This is a common thing. Reviewers seem to have more complaints about the Cadillac Lyriq than actual consumers/owners. That is _not_ normal.

    I already watched savagegeese's video and it indeed makes no sense because if you don't drive around with a sound engineer (and I'm willing to venture most people don't) who cares what one says?
    Reason being, I think what's happening with @savagegeese is that the non-sound engineers find the Lyric's sound system fine, then the engineer pipes in, causing the two hosts to suddenly 'hear' all sorts of issues they didn't notice prior.
    In other words, a small scale version of mass-induced psychosis

    I just spent a week in a friend's new Lyriq, and found only one flaw, but a rather major one. Such a solid and gorgeous car that's a joy to be in, but on really hot days, the A/C in the second row is very weak. The stylish front vents push little or no air to the back, and the tiny vents on the back of the console are not enough. Granted, this was Palm Springs in July, but people in hot cities like Phoenix and Las Vegas are going to be super unhappy if relegated to the back seat in summer.

      The first refresh was the upgrade from the 2033 to 2024, followed by the March 2024 software upgrade.
      The car was not ready for prime time before that, but it's ready to roll now. Very impressive package, especially at the price point 10k to 20k less than the Q8, EQS, iX.

    Just got one a month ago. Idid a lot of research (etron, Mercedes bmw, KIA ) For the price, nothing comes close to a leriq. The execration is like a Bentley soft and exhilarating. Besides 4.5, 0-60 is plenty . Lucid also nice 3.8 sec 0-60 same price on the lease. but with one dealership 60 miles away (Not yet).

    My Luxury 1 had the creaky (loose center console piece) but the dealer replaced it under warranty and it doesn't creak anymore. That is what the warranty is for. GM;s supplier may have a small QC issue but I suspect that is correctable once GM addresses the situation with them.
    I waited for two years to get my car and couldn't get what I wanted when the car was finally ordered so got a Luxury 1 Vs Luxury 2. I don't have SuperCruise, the fancy stereo, massaging seats or the 19KW charging module which would have provided more freedom when on a trip.
    However, the car I have is great. I have the suspension set in Sport Mode so the ride is firm but not harsh. It is a Cadillac and I really think it is better than the German cars.

  • @phillipschuman4307

    I thought a few important comparisons were missing-- to its platform cousins, the Blazer and Equinox (Chevy) and ZDX (Acura).
    The Chevys slot in below in price (and some luxury factors), while the ZDX is probably more money (at least in the S trim), but has extra benefits (air suspension, heads up display, possibly better (at least different) sound system).
    The Chevys might be in that same category of 90%+ of what the Lyriq provides, and at a lower cost.
    Of course, if it's only the flagship apex GM model compared to its similarly apex competitors, then clearly the Chevys aren't comparable. But the top trim ZDX would be.

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated 19 дней назад +1

      @@screenPhiles those people and their sound system readings are bs. That’s their last resort whenever they can’t find a an actual fault with a new vehicle that they don’t endorse.

    • @screenPhiles
      @screenPhiles 19 дней назад +1

      @@G-Rated I agree. The 'they' I meant referred to Downshift. What's likely going on with savagegeese is that their sound engineer may have indeed had a problem with the Lyriq's sound system but that doesn't at all mean anyone else who listened to it would.
      Savagegeese seems to think that everyone hears and processes sound exactly the same, which is kinda silly.

    • @G-Rated
      @G-Rated 19 дней назад

      @@screenPhiles Gotcha, and I agree. Between the two channels their commentary is actually similar imo - very silly in general. Constantly trying to think of things that are better in some way, shape, or form to compare to the Lyriq, struggling to downplay the luxury and uniqueness of the design while trying to praise competitors for their “conservativeness”. That’s what it’s called when a foreign brand “phones it in”. The double standards and hypocrisy is obvious, but more importantly proves bias against and hate for *gm.*

    • @screenPhiles
      @screenPhiles 19 дней назад +1

      @@G-Rated I see that sometimes too and it really bugs me because GM is doing some really interesting things in the EV space.
      Their EV's are certainly better than anything Tesla is putting out (they may not have top speeds as fast though GM understands that a vehicle - generally speaking because the Corvette and Hummer are bonkers - don't need to have 0 - 60 times in two seconds - though reviewers for whatever reason have to hate because 'GM.'
      Speaking of which, if you haven't seen Throttle House's review of the Lyriq, check it out. It's really interesting because the two hosts seemed to actually like it, though you can almost see them going out of their way to find things disparaging to say about it.

    Nitpicking plastic creaking is always a ridiculous thing to do. No one uses their vehicle by going around and squeezing every surface. I wish reviewers would stop judging interior quality on that.

    • @BioMedUSA
      @BioMedUSA 3 дня назад

      I disagree. I and probably many others want quiet in the cabin - squeaks are not only annoying but an indication of poor build quality.

    • @cscorona1
      @cscorona1 2 дня назад

      @@BioMedUSA squeaks that come from surfaces being used not as intended, but are instead squeezed, pressed, and otherwise manipulated to make a noise is not an indication of quality to me. If my cup holder makes a squeak when I press my thumb against the inside of it, who cares? When would I ever do that in the daily use of my car?
      The fact is auto makes need to make careful decisions on where to put weight in a vehicle to maximize efficiency. That might mean not putting a lot of structural components behind a non-load bearing surface that is not being pressed and squeezed (other than by an auto reviewer).
