    🚨We posted a follow-up video after some further investigation ➡ ruclips.net/video/C5-iN6Im76c/видео.htmlsi=oWSX3q_vYU7tB_T-
    ALSO, we state in this video we set the climate to "LO." If you use any modern GM product (or most newer cars, in general), there is an automatic temp setting of "LO." Sometimes this is below 65 degrees, sometimes it's below 61 degrees. The point is, it's the lowest setting you can go on the in-cabin temperature. It is NOT the fan speed.

      @@EVPulse there is a setting I just discovered that changes fan speed from default low to high. (Not the same as 1-8). Go to settings -Vehicle -Climate/Air Quality- Auto Fan Speed- High. This seemed to have made the car feel a lot cooler than before.

    Since it's come up numerous times, regarding the AC, is that in this demo car we didn't find it getting cold enough. The presenter acknowledges in the video it might just be this car, but it IS something we experienced during the week with the car. If it is just this car (which is always a possibility), that wouldn't mean they're all bad, which is why we point out it might just be the test car. We'd rather be honest in our reviews than hold back something we experience.

    I own a 2024 Lyriq Sport 3 AWD, and I just love the car. I've had it for 8 months with no issues. I don't know why you had trouble with the HVAC system. I'm in the New York City area and this summer we have experienced at least two heatwaves and many 90 plus temperature days and my AC worked very well each time. Sometimes I had to turn it down low because I was getting cold. The heated seats and steering wheel were a great feature during the winter. Overall, I've had a great driving experience with the Lyriq.

      Glad you love your Lyriq! It's a very nice EV, though a few small tweaks would make it phenomenal. GM nailed the fundamentals -- range, DC fast charging speed and performance -- the stuff that really matters. If they made the front seats a bit cushier, improved the charging port door and quickened the steering a skosh, this Cadillac could be phenomenal.

    When I test drove a Lyriq in the summer of 2023, the charge door was stuck open - it wouldn’t close. The dealer pulled the car up and opened the driver side door for me to get in. At the time, I thought they were going the extra mile. We test drove with the charge door stuck open - probably not a good look for Cadillac. Afterwards when I got out, I finally saw the charge door stuck open and realized why they had opened the driver’s door for me. That door needs a redesign - and also needs to be relocated for NACS.

    I sat in a Cadillac Lyriq at a dealership last year (2023) as I wanted to see if I should add it to my list of potential purchases. I think the car looks fantastic from every angle and was excited about it…until I sat in it. I’m 6’6”, 290lbs so I don’t fit in many, probably most cars, and this was no exception. The center console met my right leg/knee at an uncomfortable spot that made it a bad choice for me.
    I’m still amazed at how sexy the car looks on the road, but I’m VERY happy with our BMW iX.

      The AC on my Lyriq works fine in the Texas heat. The issue as others have mentioned, is it does take 10-15 minutes to really start cooling down the vehicle and in 30 minutes and it's quite comfortable. For some people that's just not fast enough. My only real complaints are the glovebox and phone charger which only works when the phone is in the exact position and seems to slide out more than it should from that perfect position. There's some glitches in the SW on occasions, but most seem to fix themselves. I am quite pleased with my L3 sport and not sure I would agree with some of the knocks here. I did give up my premium PHEV Volvo XC60 and 4 months later don't regret it, which is saying something.

And while it was hot outside, the cabin got cold pretty fast and I tested Google’s car control by raising it and lowering fan speed. Either way I hope it’s just an over 100 thing. So quiet, so smooth, so powerful, so smart, and so relaxing when using super cruise. Unlike the other cars that it was compared to, it actually gets me over 350 miles on a full charge. It was rated lower, but in summer weather, it does much better than it’s rating. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the car air-conditioning was fine on hot summer days mostly it’s very much fun to drive. If automakers are going to NACS, I would rather have the charge door where Tesla has their charge door - driver side back. Alternatively, passenger side front would also work. It’s time for GM and others to move the charging port with the switch to NACS (Tesla plug).

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP 2 месяца назад +3

      While in the short term I might agree with that, I feel long term charging stations need to be vehicle agnostic and just work with whatever product comes by and regardless of pulling in or backing in.
      Is Tesla updating their chargers to have longer cables? People will likely become upset with these types of different charging receptacle placements but I can’t blame them if Tesla opened the door to their use and simply didn’t consider the impact to current Tesla owners.

      @@OpinionatedOG184 There’s more at issue than just cable length. The Ford Mustang Mach E is a good example. It now can charge at all Tesla Superchargers with the NACS adapter that Ford and Tesla developed. The adapter adds roughly an additional 3 feet to the cable. Problem solved? Not necessarily. Mach E owners still need to pull in forward - but they need to use the cable from the next stall to the left. What happens if 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B stalls are all in use? Now let’s suppose you’re next in line in your Mach E and the vehicle at position 2A leaves. You can pull in to spot 2A - but you’re going to need to wait for the person using 1B to also leave to be able to use their cable. When the vehicle in 1B finally leaves and frees up a cable, you can charge. You will be tying up two spots and will not be very popular when another vehicle pulls into vacated spot 1B - only to have you use the cable from 1B while your vehicle is in spot 2A. See the problem?

    • @danlambesis1289
      @danlambesis1289 2 месяца назад +1

      @@OpinionatedOG184 Adding 3 feet of cable is not enough without also addressing the vehicle port location. You are in the queue with your Mustang Mach E and you have your NACS adapter which adds the extra 3 feet. You are next and 3A leaves - so you pull into 3A. You still cannot charge until 2B leaves. When the car in 2B leaves, you then grab the cable from 2B and plug into your car in spot 3A. You are taking up two spots to use one charger. And how does the next driver in the queue feel when spot 2B opens up and you take the 2B cable to charge your car sitting in spot 3A?

I absolutely adore the Lyriq, but the A/C never quite catches up on really hot days, and the back seat is somehow much worse, with very little airflow from the tiny vents. The system needs more capacity and a lot more air to the 2nd row. The opening of the chargeport is jittery, probably because of the rubber thread of the cover of the fast charging pins. That is probably releasing some tension or being caught up while opening.

    Anything less than a Luxury 3 Lyriq is a bit disappointing and the price was a bit higher than I was expecting. Who wants a luxury SUV without optional Supercruise? There is no air suspension so the ride isn't quite top of the line in the luxury segment. Rear window visibility is not great without the camera mirror option. To solve the glove box issue, pull the icon into favorites and opening the glove box is just a push away. I did this with my garage door opener as well. Here in Texas I find the A/C to be pretty acceptable. Handling is about what you'd expect from a mid size SUV, maybe a tiny bit better, although Cadillac claims to have gone to great lengths to lower the center of gravity, and I am more of a sedan person. Many modern day electric sedans don't handle much differently, but it's not a sports car by any means. I am impressed with the overall quality, and since I've set the warning systems up there have been few surprises. Things work reasonably well. Charging makes the garage warm and stops occasionally in the hot weather. I am retired and check on it once in awhile. Someone who just expects to find their car fully charged in the morning could have a problem.

    Almost 2 years since the release and a dashboard compartment still doesn't close properly and sticks out of the dashboard (I have mine replaced 4 times, still sticks out). Clicking HVAC when temperature is set around 73-74 degrees. Ratling SRS airbag inflator in the steering wheel (which becomes worse with miles). Glovebox which you are unable to open using button (you need to hit it). Buzzing noise when 3 passengers inside or 2+ cargo. Panel rattling and creaking dashboard. Knocking noise and vibration from the HVAC compressor (they fix it, but after several months it came back even worse). I had 15 dealership visits since March 2023, tomorrow I will have 16.
