    Only issue I have with the wired version is the matte coating, side button paint and rubber grip are not very durable and start to wear after about a year of daily use. Looks like this will have the same problem.

    I used the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite for over 2 years but now the LMB started doing double clicks just after one year and the scrolling wheel started to make rubber effect where if you are scrolling on a website the page just jumps up and down so I got rid of mouse and currently trying to find a better one.
    I had the same problem some ppl have mentioned with the 12 buttons randomly stop functioning during gameplay, I have figured out why it is happening in most games I have.
    probably most of you know that but first let me give a small explanation on how icue software works with RGB,
    for example, in The Division 2, sometimes you enter hazardous areas where you start losing health without getting shot, for example, in the lab section in the district union arena where the narrator start saying "Airborne toxins is at unsafe levels, Filters failing." and you need to press the button in the ventilation system to start it, also same thing in some floors in The Summit but without having to start ventilation systems.
    when it starts to say "Airborne toxins at unsafe levels Filters failing" at this point the icue software and the game are supposed to communicate to change the RGB lights from normal colors to different colors that indicate danger, at this point the icue software fails miserably and the side buttons stop functioning, also if you minimize the game and try to open icue it won't open or it will open with only system sensors without mouse options, in the Division 2 there is an option to turn this feature off but it will keep happen randomly, in other games I couldn't find this option and if you turn it off in the icue software you get 50% less freezes but it will keep occurring.

    It would be perfect if they didn't remove the DPI down button and if it wasn't so expensive. Why would you have it removed on the wireless version? Personally I got used to the razer naga that has the extra two mouse buttons on the left side of the left click and also I like the two extra buttons in the middle behind the scroll wheel on the scimitar and on the logitech g600. And even more I like how razer added even more buttons on the naga v2 hyperspeed. More buttons = better both for mmo gaming and for work such as music production, video production, editing, and so on.

    I have been using the wired versions of scimitars since it came out. And I have burned through 3 of them. Most of them break some button in around one or two years. Fortunately the latest one broke the middle mouse button (pressing down the wheel), which is not very necessary for me. So I have been using it for 5 years, in which time it has shredded most of the matte coatings as well as paint on the thumb buttons.
    But I heard good things about the wireless new one, having better than usual build quality. So I might get it for my next mouse.

    I just got mine and had a few issues with it. Out of the box, loosening the screw would not let the side buttons move, even though it was fully loosened and spinning in place. I had to press in REALLY hard while loosening the screw to get it to "break" loose by hearing something give inside the mouse, then it started working. My right click also has a ton of wobble and rattle and makes a grinding noise whenever it's clicked. Bummer, because it's a really nice mouse otherwise.

    If they had side mouse wheel buttons to make up for the button they removed and kept the two lighting zones on the wheel and thumb grid it might be worth considering but unless there's a revision to add these missing features back the wired mouse will still be superior.

    If Corsair just upgrades their MMO/Moba mice's scroll wheels to be more solid, and gives Scimitar a tilt function, they'll be a top contender in that productivity/rpg/mmo market.
    I wouldn'tmind hybrid switch technology either. G502 X may sound awful, but the feel is miles ahead most other optical switches.

  • @leonardofacchin1452
    @leonardofacchin1452 4 месяца назад

    I bought this one a few days ago and I have a very hard time getting used to it (coming from a 2014 Razer Naga). The Scimitar is very wide, to the point that my grip on it never feels secure and solid enough. It also compels the hand into a position that makes the mouse sit noticeably tilted to the left (that is: the imaginary middle line running through the middle mouse button and in between the left and right buttons doesn't sit perpendicular to the table edge but is instead left leaning). This feels to me very unnatural in use.
    It's very irritating because the product is otherwise solid and the software way better than the equivalent from Razer (I despise Synapse from the bottom of my heart). Still, I believe I'll have to return the product and go back to a Razer model, because these kind of gaming mouses are expensive enough that I don't want to keep a product I'm not entirely happy with...

    I've used the wired version for MMO games for the last 5 years. I think Corsair's side button layout is the best for this kind of mouse, so for that reason I love the Scimitar series. However, the scroll wheel on the wired version is notoriously flimsy, imprecise and prone to failure over time. It looks like they've addressed this problem with the wireless version, that scroll wheel looks chunky and way more sturdy. It looks like this wireless version of the Scimitar fixes the two main problems I had with the original: the crappy scroll wheel and the annoying wire!

    I've had my original Scimitar for 7 years now and it is still working just like the day I got it. It's my favorite mouse so I've made sure to take care of it. I've been waiting for a wireless version for a long time for my laptop and now it is finally here. I've tried using two versions of the Razor Naga, but they both had issues within a year.
