    What are your thoughts on JetBlue?

  • @Jabid21
    @Jabid21 8 месяцев назад +3

    JetBlue has the edge on most other domestic airlines for the products it offers. Fully featured IFE, free WiFi just to name a few. I also happen to prefer flying a320s than 737s as they tend to be configured with more seat width, pitch. Only thing I didn’t like was that they don’t offer free carryons on their regular fares anymore.

    • @WorldWide_Dom

      I believe that sadly that’s the way things are going with the base fair at the moment. I noticed United have started doing the same on some domestic routes.

    I flew these guys from Boston to Washington Dulles quite a few years ago (on an Embraer). I remember it being a solid product. I notice they're going to start an Edinburgh to New York JFK flight in 2024, so maybe another one for you to review at some point, Dom?

      Oh don't! I did see that they are coming to EDI & I'm so tempted! 😅 It is an airline I do think are pretty good.

    • @alexmcwhirter6611
      @alexmcwhirter6611 8 месяцев назад +1

      Indeed. But EDI will be seasonal only in 2024. Of course things can and do change in aviation. Worth noting that JetBlue is a full service airline on the transatlantic so not BoB (as on US domestic routes).

    • @176MarkW
      @176MarkW 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@alexmcwhirter6611 - seasonal is better than nothing at all. It'll be aimed mainly at US visitors to the UK, who tend to visit in the summer months.

      @@176MarkW Quite agree. Also of course many N American travellers attend the Festival during August. JFK is JetBlue's hub so it can cater to those who connect from a myriad of domestic points.

    Like most airlines, JetBlue shines if you have a CC with them: half-off all F&B when purchased on-board with the CC makes it worth while. For what it's worth, If you have the ahem, Chase Sapphire Reserve CC, you have unlimited access to said lounge. JetBlue does plan on opening its own Lounge in the very near future at Logan, but it will only be for Mint & Mosaic users.

    What a great lounge and I bet 😮the ability to have a preflight shower made the flight more comfortable. The flight looked very good too. Loved the views of the city lights at night. Another enjoyable video Dom, thank you 😊

    Hi Dom, Love your videos . I live in NY and Jet Blue has taken over in the last 20 years or so as serious competition to the other American Airlines especially here on the East coast. They fly to the Caribbean, Mexico and now the UK. I’ve flown with them several times and I like them. Want to try a flight to the UK, I’m from England so hope to do that soon xx

    You can leave at the same time and arrive earlier because the taxing time from the gate to takeoff could have changed. BOS and all the NYC airports are famous for having long taxing times until takeoff.
    JetBlue (B6) has had a bad few months with cancelled and/or delayed flights. My brother flew to PDX from JFK and arrived 2 hours late a few days ago.

    • @WorldWide_Dom
      @WorldWide_Dom  8 месяцев назад

      Ah yes I forgot about the taxing waits, securing an earlier slot could certainly explain the 30 minutes expected early arrival.
      Sorry to hear that. Has there been any explanation for you & your brother’s delays thus far?

    • @ESUSAMEX
      @ESUSAMEX 8 месяцев назад

      @@WorldWide_Dom He told me that it was due to a lack of crew to work the flight. But B6 has been having this problem for months and I am sure it is not all due to the lack of crews. It happens too often just for one reason. Someone is not doing their job correctly. Famous Americans on TV have denounced the airline and they have said that they will never fly JetBlue again.

  • @JohninRosc

    Oh Dom I hope you aren't moving across to the dark world of priority lounges and whatever lies beyond. It could be the top of a slippery slope. At least you lauded it for all it offered rather than nit picked the quality of everything and anything (in a most pretentious manner if you really want to get it right). I've used Jet Blue a few times as Aer Lingus have an affiliation. It works perfectly with the USA customs and immigration clearance at Dublin airport and you simply hop on a Jet Blue flight the minute you arrive on what is in effect, an internal USA flight. It means the whole of the Ireland is linked to an ever increasing number of North American destinations. Can't praise them highly enough.

    • @WorldWide_Dom
      @WorldWide_Dom  8 месяцев назад +1

      Haha no sadly I don’t have full priority pass membership. This was a once a year freebie 🤣 I only really opt for lounges when it either is way to full to find something else or it’s included with a ticket. On this case it was the former. 😅 the only thing I had to complain about in the lounge was spilling my first coffee down my arm (totally my fault though and quite sore) 🤣 don’t worry I’m still very much on the light side! 😁 I hear JetBlue are adding Edinburgh and Dublin to their route network this year. So should be good competition for the legacy carriers along with Norse.

      Here is hoping but from what i can see, they are only costing the flights about the same as the other carriers, they will need to offer something extra or lower the price to temp people away from the likes of British airways.
