In many discussions with your partner, the topic of a ring is likely to arise. An inexpensive ring will not lead me to cancel a marriage or postpone a wedding. However, I believe it’s reasonable to express that I would prefer something nice as opposed to something that comes from a cracker jack box. It’s important to clarify that I don’t require a ring that costs as much as a house down payment; the relationship itself is paramount and truly important most of all. Nevertheless, a woman should not be made to feel guilty for desiring something nice.
@Everettjhill correct, it should not and doesn't alter my plans to marry but I would like something nice. And again, that's a discussion with your partner.
No it doesn't justify calling off the marriage. If he's an 100% loyal faithful man, and that's all he can afford I will wear that ring proudly and be grateful that he even thought of me. Now if he lied about the price of the ring, yes cancel the wedding. Atleast for now until I can forgive him and understand why he lied to me.
I agree. Lying about the value is a federal offense for which he should answer. Now, you said if that’s all he can afford, you would wear it proudly. But what if he could afford much more, but that’s the ring he wanted to get you? Would you still wear it proudly?
I think a woman who decides to call off the wedding because of a ring is not prepared to be with that man the rest of her life. Materialistic people don't understand there are ups and downs in life. They want to live off appearance.

I have no desire to make a woman feel guilty, my only point is the value of the ring should make no impact on the decission to marry or not.

No. I’d rather have only our wedding bands after marriage
So no engagement ring, just wedding bands is ok with you? and the wedding bands don't have to be expensive, correct?

I agree, the value of the ring should have no say so in the decision to marry
