How good was Diego Milito actually? #GOAT
New episode of a documentary series where I plan to present all the greatest players of all time. In this episode we take on Diego Milito who played for Inter Milan, Zaragoza and Genoa for most of his career, not only one of the greatest strikers of all time but one of the greatest players of all time. See how Diego Milito ranks and just how good he actually was. Спорт
I'm a Racing supporter here in Argentina, we love this guy almost like nobody else. He was key for the league title in 2001, our club never achieved anything else after he left not even qualify for international cups, and then in 2014 when he came back we won the league again after 13 years (the first title in my lifetime). Simply my favorite player, my hero.

I will never forget his name ... My first champions league final was when he scored against Bayern .. And I was like who is this dude ... But the name stuck with me forever .... Thank you for the amazing video ....
Mine too!
Me too
Il principe will always remain in the hearts of Inter fans 🖤💙
Awesome brace.
Mine too. Eto and milito ❤️
He didn’t really disappear, the 2nd season he was in Inter he was injured and missed a lot of games. the 3rd season he was only second in terms of score to Ibrahimovic in Serie A with 24 goals at the age of 32. The season after he was injured again. Injuries sadly just hinder lots of players:(
I certainly didn‘t forget that Milito was crucial in winning the treble for Inter. And he was such a humble person! Grazie Diego!
PS: you should do a video on Esteban “el cuchu“ Cambiasso. A massively underrated midfielder who never stood in the limelight, a quiet player. Only when he didn’t play it became clear, how important his presence for the team actually was.
Yeah Cambiasso was a rock, needs a video
Cambiasso also needs his credit for helping Leicester on their way to become PL champions. Great player
Cambiasso and Seedorf are 2 of the most underrated players in the history of football
Jose's Inter Milan was full of underrated Legends.
Cambiasso isnot underrated at all. If you ever play for Real Madrid, you arenot underrated.
I used to think Milito looked like Sylvester Stallone when he was playing rocky balboa lmao
bro same, milito was underrated
He did look like Rocky 😁
haha yes same!!
Before him crespo rambo
Dassrite!
Milito was the hardest working man in the business. He deserved every inch of success. He really put the work to make it happen.
He was banging in goals for years at Genoa, Zaragoza back at Genoa and then Inter! for those who followed him always! He never played much for Argentina due to the massive amount of talent they had up front at the time until maybe 2008-2010
Incredible player
Fun fact: Milito said that he actually refused Inter at the time of Roberto Mancini, because they had already too many big strikers (Adriano, Ibrahimovic, Crespo, Cruz, Balotelli...) and he thought it wasn't the right time.
Except for Ibra he would have probably made it (maybe even a two striker combo with both upfront?) but yeah I get how he felt like that
Thank you for reminding the football fans and the in depth video essay on why Diego Milito was one of the legend of the football game. A clinical goalscorer and the main reason Inter Milan and Jose Mourinho won the treble, a truly underrated and unsung hero of his day. 👍🏼
No worries man, glad you enjoyed
Yeah
Facts 💯 milito was also one of the reason why I won the league on soccermanager when I was younger. Such a reliable goalscorer. Ibra and eto'o got their plaudits but I'm glad others recognise milito's talent 🏆
Such a passionate striker.
Last time I've seen such a striker was CHRISTIAN VIERRI
Passion? laughs in inzaghi
🤔 I'm thinking you're mistaking Inzaghi for Vieri.
When it comes to passion, you can mention Inzaghi, Milito, Batigo, Obagoal and (then) maybe to Vieri
@@joshuajuventino7938 That aggressive silence blonde assassin? Who would score at any chance?
Inzaghi was born offside but a great finisher and a loyalist.
RAMBO was ZLATAN before ZLATAN existed..
Diego Milito was one of the players even as an AC Milan fan, I respected. Him, Julio Cesar, Sneijder and Maicon were the beast. In 2010, the biggest snub wasn't Sneijder not winning, it was him not being nominated.
Associated with Diego Milito:
Guarin
Julio Cesar
Wesley Schneider
Javier Zanetti
Cambiasso
Stankovic
Maicon
Palacio
Sully Muntari
Yuto Nagatomo
Samuel Eto’o
Oh I miss the old white dragon away kit, the “special one” Mourinho, and the dominant performances that came with them. 🥺🥺😢😢😢
Lucio
U missed the powerful left footer Goran Pandev
Sneijder
But yeah the great treble winning team always loved both Milan teams
Guarin? PALACIO? NAGATOMO? You are a bit confused hahaha
I loved Diego. Was great. Used to always put him on my fifa jaja. Being a barcelonista I also have much love for Gabi.. but was always injured. Your stories are so complete and such good narrative form ! So interesting and captivating!
Thanks man, glad you enjoy them
Diego Milito was the main reason Inter won the treble in 2009/10 season. He was amazingly crucial with his goals, he scored the only goal in last league match against Siena to win the title, then scored the only goal in cup final to beat Roma, and then the "crème de la crème", he scored 2 goals in Champipns leage final against Bayern to writte his name in history books forever.
He's my favourite player ever, he made our dreams come true, he made us proud to be an Interisti ⚫🔵.
My hero, Diego Alberto El Principe MILITO.
I normally go back to the 2010 UCL final to watch his 2 goals. Especially that 2nd goal.
How can we forget this legend and the 2009-10 season.
El Principe, El Nino and El Tigre my favorite trio of strikers!!
Him, Sneidjer and Mourinho perfect combination!!
El Pistolero deserves some recognition :D
FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT EL PRINCIPITO MILITO MY CHILDHOOD FOOTBALL PLAYER THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO

Milito and eto partnership was one of the best I watch at inter Milan.
Two elite strikers
Inter fans have been spoilt with striker partnerships and that's not just recent with Lukaku and Martinez. Ronaldo with Zamarano, Baggio, Vieri, Recoba and there's more that I could go on with

I remember him being super fast and scoring goals for Inter Milan. Also who can forget Jose Mourinho's celebration after Inter Milan knocked out Barcelona in the Semis . He pointed to the sky with his index finger while running and Víctor Valdés pushed him 😅
When you're Jose Mourinho's main striker then you are something special.
Hahaha yes true. Good joke
Thank you for creating this video, bringing his memory alive again:)
I can't forget him. But what annoys me is Diego maradona not selecting 4 players from Inter who had won UCL. And as result of his ego Argentina got trashed 4-0 by Germany
Maradona was my favorite (as a player and charismatic leader), but that was shambolic decision.
Very hardworking striker. I will never forget him. Be happy where ever you are diago. ❤❤
absolutely brilliant video thank you so much!!!!!!! I remember so clearly in 2010 thinking who is this guy and i completely forgot about him until I saw this video on my timeline, onece again thank you I really enjoyed that!!!!
Yeah that's the reaction I expected to get from some people, for many it was like a bleep in football history
just discovered this channel and learned a bunch about batistuta, stoichkov, jardel, baggio and a few others late 80s, 90s and early 2000s heroes that i really didnt know enough about
Well it was not just one season. He was amazing at zaragosa before inter bought him. Scored a ton of goals!
Even at inter his second season was poor but his 3rd was excellent. Was brilliant for Genoa too.
He was even better at Genoa, right before Inter.
Maradona did him a disservice playing him on the bench for a young higuain in south africa. He needed that worldcup to wrap up an incredible performance for the year .I won't forget him,he equally deserved the world best that year. This guy was the highest scorer in seriea and the best champs league player in 2010.His goals also won the Italian league cup.
No surprise, argentina board is expert in wasting talents. I'm pissed off too.
Maradona also left Cambiasso and Zanetti out of his squad. Great player but terrible manager...
Milito joined Inter when he was 29 turning 30 not 31 and, maybe you were too young to remember but he was hugely sought after from PL clubs when he was in Zaragoza but he refused preferring to go back to Italy.
He shined in his 30s
I cant thank you enough for this video. If there was ever an underrated striker it was milito. He proved that the ballon d'or was fixed and that maradona was a vindictive coach. The prince will always know he has a very very very special place in the hearts of interisti.
No worries man, it's awesome to make your days a bit better by sharing my love for football ❤️
I’ll tell you what happen... Mourinho happened to him... Jose has an amazing track record with strikers... He unlocked Milito like how he unlocked players like Drogba, Zlatan and a few more then all of a sudden he was back to default settings when Jose left for Real Madrid 🤷🏾♂️
Mourinho Real were an incredible squad, Ronaldo had some of his best numbers ever
He was injured
But in 2012 season he had good season
That’s completely BS. Milito was simply injured and he continued to score right after injury.
One of my all-time favorite player 🔥
For me as a kid from bayern germany it was absolutely awesome sawing all those brooken dreams by this god of football
Love all the goals you showed.....
Milito is a true football legend. The 2010 season was out of this world, especially if you are an Inter fan like me. I remember we were playing A LOT of PES at that time and we all knew that his name was Diego milito but at first we didnt know his brothers name as in the game he was called G. Milito. So we called him Gentleman Milito. Fun times.
Another well made video. 🤩 Huge fan.
Thanks!
One of the forgotten legends.
He’s not forgotten, he is just a delicious striker
meu atacante favorito de adolescência, subestimado na mesma medida em que foi amado por aqueles que acompanharam sua carreira
Both milito brothers were spectacular players man. What a joy to watch. With ewerthon at front that team was scary
Mate, you are just FANTASTIC! If you need some name for others video, i will be here for help!
Thanks man! You're awesome
man, trust me. im a big fan of milito since he was playing for zaragoza.
what an elegan forward he was.
Well documented video as usual.
Thanks!

A great account of a great player/person.
Thanks!
Well done video, congratulations .
Believe! I loved seeing him play 👏👏👏
Nice documentary. You should do a video on Lucas Toni
Random fact, I used to love him as a kid because he had my name and my dad's name at the same time ahah
He was very very good mein..I really remember him still now..
ive been here since 3k congrats on the growth
Truly a gem. So happy Inter signed him. He didn't shy away from the likes of more famous teammates especially Eto'o and Sneijder. In fact he was more of a team player and willing to help in defence also pick up balls from half way more so than always-selfish Ibrahimovic. This is one of those dream happy ending for any footballer
He hit his peak late. That one season was a classic.
Such a shame he got injured and coached by Benitez in 2nd year.
If only Mourinho keep staying at inter
yeah, milito under mourinho was incredible
I'll never forget this guy as I had placed a bet for inter to win the final 2-0 and put eto'o first goal. I was debating between the two of them.
Next time
I'm so glad I found your channel.
I'm glad you found it too ;)
Enjoyed!! Respect to Milito! Do one for Nuno Morais
Oh football, a player a unique story. Thx for the video.
Ofc man!
one of the best in the business
It was Milito magic against Barca that made me an inter fan for life
Forever in my memories
This guy was frightening in front of goal, particularly in 2009-10. He owned that champions league final in May 2010.
I will not forget him... That Inter Milan side were amazing.
Your pronunciation is very accurate. I like you mention their names.
Thanks man, I try. It's hard sometimes tho
Depends he slaughters certain words which is logical he’s not fluent in Spanish but yeah
Dude I was always wondering what happened to this dude!!! I remember his brother was a CB at Barcelona and they played against eachother I believe for 1st time in champions league history 2 brothers on different teams played against each other. Might have been 2nd time but believe it was first as 2010 world cup the 2 Boateng Brothers played Ghana v Germany on opposing sides.
Yeah, heartbreaking story
Rumor says after winning the CL he was just standing on the pitch all in sweat, blood and tears shouting: "Aaaaadriaaaan!"
He is a fantastic player his time at inter was his peak and also his last ride people dont seem to realize this man is already in his 30s after 3 great season with inter he suffers a horrific knee injury in 2013 that eventually ended his journey in europe i remember after that he return back to argentine and play for a few seasons before finally retire
Unluckily for diego if he came to europe and join with a bigger team sooner im sure he will become a more household name.. i think thats the main reason why peoples besides inter fans keep forget about him
Im Argentinean and the reason milito doesnt play much games for the national team was just favoritism, Its a shame. He was the best striker in 2009-10
Kids this days will never knew how good this guy was, they would just compare him with firmino or lukaku on twitter 🤦♂️
Bro, I 100% agree with this video. Peak Milito is a monster, the same kind with Drogba. I still amazed by how he pierced through Bayern defense like its some mid table club. Maradona didnt give him enough opportunities is a crime for me even until now. I also agree that he seems unbothered by the facts that the world didnt give him the easiest path in football.
The prince of Milan. Grazie Diego 🏆
Bro been a great striker all his career I was dying for him to come to Liverpool but opted for Spain Zaragoza madness but we missed a Jem there
As a Milanista myself I cried in happiness when Inter won treble thanks to Diego Milito
If Henry deserved “Golden ball” this man deserved a “Diamond ball”. One of the most under appreciated players ever.
I always remember how unplayable he was in that treble winning season 🔥
Never forgot this legend. Ultimo!
First and for real he was a legend
true legend
és um rei continua forte
Nobody forgets him. We remember him very well
Il Triplette 😢 mamma mia how much I miss him 🖤💙🙌🏼
Underrated hero! Forza Inter!
Italy lowkey has its best players ever playing for Argentina. Imagine if Messi, Milito, Zanetti, Di Maria etc... played for their grand parents country. That'd be dope!!
hmmm a video on Pedro....fun fact he is the only player to score in a UCL final Europa final ans Super cup final

Love your vids man great info, stats and story telling ✌️

I didnt forget him he was goated in his inter days
Its funny because i actually know milito because of his time in Racing back in 2014
