Pauls Torterra
Jessie's wobbuffet
Can you do ash gliscor
Squishy from xyz
Ash's Totodile or Gary's Dodrio
Paul getting humilliated in the Sinnoh League by the very same Pokemon he tortured, abused and abandoned is legit the most satisfying moment in anime history
One of my favorites :)
Probobly the best parts in every single pokémon anime.
🤣🤣🤣
DAM RIGHT
True
People really undersell what Ash has done for the Pokémon he's caught. If Ash had never left Pallet Town, Chimchar would have struggled with his trauma for the rest of his life, Froakie would have continued to feel alone, Bulbasaur and Snivy would have remained cautious of humans, Charmander would have died without Damian ever coming back...
Ash didn't just bring out the best in his Pokémon. He saved their lives.
Very, very true!
Damn you're actually right.
The world turned to Ash
And let's not forget that Lapras would have never returned to her family, Gengar would still be hostile to humans, and Squirtle and his squad would still be seen as criminals. Yeah, he might not catch a lot of Pokemon, but in terms of what he does for those he has, Ash is golden.
@@mitchelanhalt5261 Ash may be goofy and stupid at times, but his heart is always pure.
I love the fact that team rocket has been cheering along for so many of the abandoned Pokémon that Ash took in lol
Same, it's so sweet
As Mewoth puts it, they may be crocks, but they have hearts
I’m glad the show constantly called out the emotional abuse and toxic environment that Paul forced Chimchar to live in. It was really heartwarming to see Chimchar finally be with a trainer who loves it and thrive under that love rather than with Paul whose abuse threatened to hurt it even more.
Seeing Chimchar break down after Ash praised it fully expecting out of habit to be yelled at or abused more was incredibly heartbreaking. It showed how much it really suffered under Paul’s abuse.
Paul never deserved Chimchar’s ability. It’s so great it finally found happiness and purpose with Ash.
I love when brock calls him out like he did with Damian
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Same. And when Crock calls himself "Chimchar's friend". Brock is a lot like Ash in how much he cares for Pokémon.
Remember it was for Ash that Chimchar was able to grow into a reliable and strong heart Infernape..
The mvp of Ash’s sinnoh team
Sorry Buizel
@@ProfessorAlexSilver 😂 right buizel was also very helpful like gliscor and staraptor
@Nate Siegle: Is there any real doubt? Ash's Infernape was what made me love the Pokemon, it was one of his best that he ever owned in any series!
@@matthewkuscienko4616 yeah i agree about that
@@crackerate Nah
Bro Electrivire and Infernape's relationship is underrated. Not only did they both evolve and get stronger, their personality grew along with it. They became ultimate rivals with alot of respect for one another which imo made the final showdown that much more impactful💪🏽💙
I would have loved to see an episode focusing specifically on them two together. I think that would have helped give it more spotlight
Electivire had way more respect for infer than Paul ever gave him, truly showing that he isnt really a bad mon, just commanded by a pos.
Its like when you play a game ur friend has played for years and u overpower them
Chimchars story is some of the best writing I've ever seen come out of pokemon, i love it
Agreed, definitely one of the best arcs
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Random (and overly long) Question:
Is there no such thing as a Claculator
or Program or Witchraft-Tool;
Science or Magic;
that allows for QUICK and EASY
research on-the-go about EV-Training?
I mean, do i have to memorize Masses and Masses
of Data about how Everything reacts to Everything?!
There must be an easier way, yes?
Just something that asks of me the work
to memorize what Stat my Pokemon 'need' to grow in,
and then i enter this simple Stuff into something.
I mean, i dont wanna look up all the Pokemon
And create a Custom-List for any Route i enter:
Someone must have made something like this
for his own re-usability, or not??
@@loturzelrestaurant When it comes to which Stats to boost, I'm afraid that's something you'll have to figure out yourself, as it's your choice how you wanna play a Pokemon. For example, my favourite Pokemon in competitive play is Gliscor, for its amazing defensive capabilities, with 252 HP and Def EVs but I also sometimes decide to take an offensive Rock Polish-Swords Dance Set with 252 Atk and Speed EVs. Other Pokemon like Blacephalon are not that versatile and are mainly only played one way, specially offensive in the case of Blacephalon. And then there are special cases, where you want to specifically design a Pokemon for certain situations, so you give a Pokemon like Sceptile maximum Attack EVs and a little investment in speed, so it can safely outspeed even the fastest Scarfer in its tier after an Unburden Boost, and the rest goes into HP, Def or SpDef.
When it comes to where to train EVs, in Sword/Shield I do it mainly by farming Money and buying Protein and that stuff, in the previous generations there were always specific routes where training for specific EVs was the easiest. I really miss the horde battles from the 6th generation for that.
@@krinias1699 Yeah,
but there must be 1-2 objectively best stats for each Pokemon, yeah?
Like Speed for Staraptor.
Or Special-Attack for... basically all Psychic-Types cause Psychic...
??
@@krinias1699 I dont need the perfect Version of my Pokemon,
but i rather wanna get a 'Power-Boost' during the Main-Game, if you get what i mean.
Even though its really, really weird that there is not objective 'Best Stat for each Pokemon to specialize on' online,
but ok, i can accept that.
But i cant accept that theres nothing to help doing it.
Ash was such a kind hearted person, seeing Chimchar's smile when ash took him was heart-warming😁
Agree!

Paul’s abuse of chimchar really solidified Paul as one of the most raw villains in Pokémon. And the accurate depiction of abuse and PTSD was impressive for an anime for children about making magic animals fight
Like obviously battling in itself isn’t abuse, Pokémon battle in nature, and it rare for one to really get hurt, but one CAN make abuse like Paul did.
that's the thing about pokemon. The rules are actually pretty strict for the battle conduct, and its more like sparring. As the show has expressed, pokemon can turn on their trainers or refuse to obey. And trainers are supposed to recognize when their pokemon need to stop fighting and recall them, and forfeit when necessary. In the old Indigo League, Ash nearly was disqualified from the League for trying to take on Blaine's Magmar with his Pikachu.
The rivalry between Infernape and Electivire was great! Electivire stopping the referee is my favorite moment of the battle.
One of my favorite rival Pokemon in the series :)
I thought electivire was just like paul but he actually very kind to his little brother Infernape
Definitely got Goku vs Vegeta vibes from them
ya and in new opening paul is shown so infernape is likely to return for a battle with paul electivire I will be really sad if ash battled paul with some other pokemon
Same
Sinnoh really was the peak of the Pokemon anime
Great Pokemon designs (Lucario, Infernape, Luxray, Darkrai, Giratina etc.)
Awesome backstory and main plot and good travel partners for Ash
Also the best rival for Ash ever introduced
I really do miss the Sinnoh arc and Infernape
I just wished that Infernape returned in Journeys instead of just a cameo, and actually helped Ash battle in the World Coronation League
Infernape was Ash's best Pokemon along with Charizard and Greninja but it's backstory makes it even better
I really hope to see it in Galar

I remember Diamond and Pearl being the first Pokemon anime I watched when it was brand new and was totally invested in Chimchar's arc. Especially feeling the sadness in my throat when Paul releases him and then later on when he cries tears of joy after Ash shows him compassion during training 😢😅
Yeah. When Tepig was released, it was sad, but not the same.
@@MisterMuffinut dont compare
@@ArtIsDrawing yeah
@@ArtIsDrawing why
@@Alexgodofwar5662 because tepig and chimchar are different
Chimchars backstory is more touching than Tepigs
Seriously, whoever was in charge of writing the Hearthome Tag Battle Tournament, I hope they got a raise, promotion and cookie for making such a masterpiece of a small arc which basically put in place the big story point for Ash and Paul's rivalry.
I'd love to see more tournament arcs in the series
Yeah, despite it being a sterotypical idea they make it work really well.
Ever since Elekid evolved into Electabuzz..Electabuzz started to care and be nicer to Chimchar
You can see that in when Chimchar evolved into Monferno. Electabuzz was shocked and then shared a smile..When Monferno evolved into Infernape, Electabuzz shared a smile too..And here Electivire motivated him to continue on..
I really liked Electivire's development, rivals are always awesome
Ash's Infernape and how they developed it only strengthens my love for it and one reason why I find it as my favorite Starter type. It hits hard, has good coverage, looks amazing, and had good screentime. I really miss my very first Infernape from Platinum, but I always smile seeing people use it in battles.
Couldn't agree more
Although Snivy is my favorite starter, Ash's greatest fire type imo IS Infernape
SAME FEELING HERE
Ash needs to realize that he's destined to be a great fighting type trainer. He raised some of the best fighting types in the series that became powerhouses on their respective teams and regions.
Ash is epic with fighting-types
@@ProfessorAlexSilverthat's why riolu and him was destined to meet even in Diamond &Pearl(kingdom riolu which ash saves sensing its aura)and finally in journeys and was ash's lucario was literal beast in masters 8😊😊😊😊😅😅
I really wish Ash’s Charizard meet Infernape when he was a Chimchar and the two would bond due to their similar past and Chimcar would view Charizard as a mentor
I feel like they are pretty close friends since Zard battled infernape several times in the lab
I'd love for a Chronicles follow-up to cover their interactions
Nah. Once Chimchar became Infernape he and Charizard would utterly destroy every team they faced together, it wouldn't even be fair.
@@dgayle2348 Imagine Infernape riding on Charizard's back.
I just realized something. Meowth actually saved Chimchar from being disobedient upon evolving. Can you imagine if Meowth was just as sympathetic towards Charmander as he was towards Chimchar? Makes you wonder
Yup! Meowth is a bro :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver If only meowth was like that with Charmander
Seriously, Chimchar should've evolved into at least a Monferno WAY before it finally did. Those intense battles against Fatima, Byron and Candice's Pokemon and you're telling me it couldn't even get to its second form? I know I know anime doesn't follow game logic but still. I really wish Monferno got more screentime before fully evolving. It kinda reminded me of Charmeleon in the Kanto region who only got a couple of scenes against a Paras and then Aerodactyl before fully evolving.
Great point. It always bothered me how little exposure the second forms got. That being said, Grovyle overstayed its welcome.
@@ProfessorAlexSilver ain't that the truth...
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Yeah, it's a little bit weird that it didn't evolve into Sceptile until the battle frontier
Maybe the trauma of being mistreated by Paul kept it from evolving sooner. By the time Chimchar was able to get over it, it was already close to lvl 36 which would explain how little screentime Monferno got.
@@kong9839 no levels
Not the games
I always hated Paul and the way he was treating chimchar. I am so glad that Infernape gave him a kind of revenge in the Sinnoh league
Paul may have been a jerk but he made the story possible :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver ya he was a sea of ego
I find paul to be wasted character development potential. At least make him feel SOMETHING. Even gary got his offscreen character development.
@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735 yea
But in the game you did same
I could see ash retiring and becoming a Pokémon daycare owner, he’s real good at raising Pokémon right
That'd be an interesting turn of events :) Brock would be a big help
He could run a sanctuary for Pokémon that were horribly treated by trainers
@@Dr.Disney Ya
This is why Chimchar, Monferno, and Infernape are one of my favorites from the anime. Rough back story to potentially one of Ashes greatest Pokémon’s. Absolutely love this fired up monkey
Pokémon didn't need to have a sad backstory just like Ash's Dragonite, who hasn't lost a single time and carries potential of being Ash's top 6.
Sad or happy, good writing makes the character! Definitely agree the rough background made Infernape 10X more compelling tho
Infernape went through a lot of punishment when it was still chimchar and Paul was its trainer. I still can't believe Paul refused to heal chimchar like no wonder he couldn't bring out its potential. It was always hurt when battling.
I'm glad Infernape and Ash were able to win against Paul. It was well deserved.
Excellent video!
Definitely a great journey to watch unfold
Paul’s Electivire is a very strong willed, yet fair pokemon. I loved it’s character and how it loves to see and test his opponents’ strength and gives praise and encouragement to them. As seen in the final battle with Infernape.
One of my favorite rival Pokemon :)
As much as I like to poke fun at the writers, Infernape is an example of when they _really_ get something right. I only wish it was an Empoleon because of my own personal favouritism but that's just my own selfish feelings rather than anything objective or rational.
Agreed, they knocked it out of the park with infernape
I was on my feet cheering when Infernape used Blaze right at the final bout against Paul's Electivire. So much build up and an amazing pay off for easily the best rival battle in the entire Pokemon anime.
Ah, yes, I had a feeling it would be Infernape coming soon. To me, this is the best arc/backstory of all of Ash's Pokemon, to date. Sure, Charizard, Sceptile, and others had good ones, too, but Infernape just had so much more going for him. And that whole final battle and vindication against Paul and his Electivire was just amazing. No wonder Black and White tried to copy it with Tepig/Pignite... And failed. Wish they would have brought Infernape back sooner in the anime, than Journeys, possibly for him to meet Greninja. Now, that would've been awesome...
Greninja meeting Infernape would be legendary
@@ProfessorAlexSilver I have a feeling, though, a certain fighting type Pokemon currently on Ash's team now will meet him first, though, which I don't mind. That would also be awesome, especially if he Mega Evolves.
Fun fact infernape is supposed to be based off of son wukong and son wukong is what Goku from dragon ball is based off of so infernape is his worlds version of Goku and that’s why blaze looked like infernape was going super saiyan
Very cool!
Whenever Paul said, “Chimchar, Blaze!” I always thought he meant chimchar should use the move blaze, which isn’t an attack, and I always said, “Paul, that’s not a move.”
I'll have to check back on that :D
It isn't. He only can use health when in red hp. So paul just needed to bring chimchar in low hp for blaze to activate. But then again. Paul is an idiot. Chimchar is by far the most op fire pokemon in sinnoh
@@spbot2 Paul's an idiot?
@@chaddfrancis2179 yeah. Op is an acronim for over powered
Iknow it's not real. But still. Bad writhing
Paul should've just taught Chimchar Endure so it could take a lot of damage in battle or in training so it could activate Blaze more in order to control it...just saying HAHA
Genius ^^
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Exactly I know TMs aren't really shown to be in the anime but there are plenty of 'move tutors' who have shown up here and there. Chimchar learned Dig so I mean come on now...Endure was a TM it could learn in Gen 4!
@@OurKindofEntertainment TMs are in the anime. In the Indigo League, an Arcanine knows Dragon Rage, a move it can only learn by TM. And considering how competitive Paul is, he would probably pick up a few TMs.
@@xora9276 are you here from ace trainer liam 😅
@@OurKindofEntertainment Ash's Bulbasaur learned Solarbeam through a TM...
Infernape was great in how it evolved both physically and in general. As a chimchar we saw it with Paul so we assumed that it was his starter. Seeing how he treated it and how it was when he released it and ash caught it was a very powerful scene. Funny enough in one scene you see all 3 starters. Turtwig, piplup and chimchar. And the fact that it did get stronger as it evolved and had a final batt,e with electivire which as elekid it formerly battled with had his arc come full circle. When Paul saw how strong it became he was impressed. Great season of Pokémon and great video.
Also, it got better at controlling Blaze as it evolved.
Thanks Dan! I enjoyed your analysis
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Thanks. Keep it up with these great videos.
Is that the same chimchar that dawn could have choosed at the beginning?
@@keving8631 im not 100% sure but almost defenitly not because we see paul with elekid in kanto if i remember right and that would mean he is already a trainer so if my memeory is right then no. it is strange tho i just always thought mabye like ash has oaks lab that pauls brother kept his other pokemon or it could be paul just ditched his starter like he did with chimchar. i guess we will never know.
Ah, my favourite Pokemon ever. My first starter in my first game, Diamond, and the DP anime only made my love for the Chimchar line even more stronger.
I'm always so glad the anime did Infernape so much justice with the phenomenon character arc and connection to Ash and Paul's rivalry.
If only every Pokemon had as much development as Infernape :)
same bro, chimchar was my first pokemon ever in my first game, which was Pearl. Grew up with gen 4, the nostalgia is real. Glad to see a fellow fire monke brother 🔥
The absolute goat. 💯
It’s so satisfying seeing Infernape getting really angry at Paul for insulting him, activating a really powerful Blaze, totally obliterated Electivire and getting Ash into the semifinals
Finally got around to watching this and this was an awesome trip down DP memory lane! Infernape is such an iconic Pokémon and one of Ash’s best! The beautifully crafted storyline for Paul, Ash and Infernape is really something that sets DP apart from other series! It was so emotional and everything came together so perfectly. Really hoping Infernape is used in final battles of the PWC.
Seeing infernape in action would be so cool. I only want it to come back if it's a bruiser (beats 2 Pokemon) or the last man standing (like against Paul). I'll go mad if it gets nerfed again haha
@@ProfessorAlexSilver yeah, if it’s gonna come back it needs to put in more work and do some damage!
BLAZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
This unlocked my cursed childhood memories of rolling into a ball to mimic Chimchars Flame Wheel
Infernape's story arc is perhaps the most heart-warming epic in POKEMON. If it wasn't for Charizard's overwhelming popularity, Infernape would be Ash's ultimate Fire Starter though a battle with Incineroar would be interesting!
I'd love to see Incineroar's power tested in another battle
@@ProfessorAlexSilver I don't like the way they handled Incineroar's evolution, honestly. I feel it would've been MUCH more meaningful if they had it reach that form sooner instead of giving it to it as a sort of "reward" for finally besting Kukui's Incineroar. It would've been neat to see it get more screen time in it's final form
The only other fire type that Infernape wasn't shown to spar with was Torkoal.
For some reason looks like every time ash get a fire type starter,it was always a mistreated one:
-Charmander was abandoned by his trainer and nearly died
-cyndaquil:it’s the only exception cause if I remember right he was a wild one
-chimchar:was abandoned by Paul
-tepig:was abandoned too
-litten:was a wild one but then he become orphan when stoutland died
For some reason ash’s fire type starters are always mistreated pokemons(except cyndaquil).
One of Ash's best Pokemon!! Great development in the whole series. Glad it was in Journeys.
What to be happy about? The fact that he was weakened there?
@@satoshiashketchum6375 dude, he was against Moltres, Moltres had an advantage because it's a fire/flying type 💀
Infernape is probably my favorite of the Fire/Fighting starter trio. I love how it can get access to Slack Off from its pre evolutions :)
My fav as well
@@ProfessorAlexSilver I feel bad for the fire monkey who came afterwards. Simisear gets so much hate :/ he wasn't the best party member but the special gift one you get when choosing Oshawott grew on me a lot.
Infernape’s arc is probably my favorite out of all of Ash’s Pokémon, even more than Charizard. That evolution against Team Rocket is also very cathartic, saving the Pokémon of the trainer who abandoned him (which I also think was Paul’s first real encounter with Team Rocket).
I can't believe that after so many years Infernape didn't learn a new move.
That episode was not an infernape focus
I would've liked to see Thunder Punch
If you ask me, Close Combat or Stone Edge would've been great additions to it's moveset
Aura sphere would be good just like lucario

Enjoy!
Before I start this video I would like to say that the Ash/Paul rivalry storyline was so well written and Infernape’s backstory is so good too.
That it was!

Yeah I remember when Paul was being a jerk to Chimchar back when he used to own it. Cause of its ability Blaze, he took advantage of that ability and put Chimchar in reckless spots and later in the series abandoned it after the tag team battle when chimchar and turtwig teamed up. And long story short, after Infernape beat Electrivire, Paul finally respected Ash, said that Infernape has improved. That battle between them was awesome when Infernape gave him a taste of his own medicine and Ash even battled some sense into him.

Goku and Infernape would make for great battlers in Smash Bros 🤔
they’re both actually based on sun wukong
Ash’s Infernape was the Pokémon that got me back into franchise. Out of all of Ash’s Pokémon, I swear Infernape had the most character growth and made me respect Ash in most of the series. I am a little bummed that his return in Journeys was rather short and sweet (also I agree with you 100% that Infernape was cheated out of a full battle with a legendary but honestly it’s match up with Moltress was at a disadvantage). I kinda wish Ash did rotate in at least one of his Pokémon from a previous journey into his roster just so we can watch the interactions between his current team and the previous team mate. I can only imagine Lucario’s instant rivalry with Infernape if they were to finally meet. Shame Ash didn’t introduce his SwSh team to the rest of the gang
Phanpy coming back is what convinced me to start watching again XD
I would have to say it’s one of ash most develop Pokémon
100% agreed
Infernape is one mighty monkey, and his blaze ability is much like Bowser’s fury mode from Bowser’s Inside Story or Goku going Super Sayian in the Dragon Ball series. The Smoky the Bear reference was pretty funny. Why does Paul have to be such a bully to his Pokémon?! And if anything, Electivire and Infernape have developed a brotherly bond.
One of the best rivalrys 🤘
He’s one of the biggest plot of the entire show.
Yup! He's the heart and soul of Sinnoh
Still a bit salty by how underwhelming his battle with Moltres was, but I love his story in DP
Same XD
I'm actually really happy I stumbled across this. In my opion, Dimond and Pearl had some of the best character arcs, and Infernape's story hits just as hard to adult me as it did to a younger me, even when I already knew most of the story but couldn't remeber all of it.
I know I mentioned this on your video reviewing the Journeys episode with Moltres, but yeah it was a MAJOR disservice. Didn't help that Infernape's move set REALLY doesn't do much to help against a Fire/Flying legendary...
It's a darn shame when a Pokemon that fainted against Moltres (Blastoise) put up a better battle than Infernape did against Moltres.
@@user-wy5kp4qb6o Nah I LOVED the Gary portions of it. Other than that, Goh was written to be incompetent while Ash and Infernape were just I don't know eye candy for the audience or something...basically handing Ash's former rival to his new co-protagonist...
I'd rather no comeback than a lackluster one tbh
@@ProfessorAlexSilver darn right! Should've saved it for a Master Ball Rank battle or something!
The thing is that moltres is way stronger that Ash, goh & gary had to team up to beat it
Pokémon Journey shouldn't exist like the Sun and Moon. Why do you want old characters to come back so much when they are simply humiliated there. Now anime is already crap and apart from Kanto Pokémon in particular Charizard and Eevee, everyone else will be humiliated, simply because people know Kanto more and they want Charizard to be number 1 and the writers are doing so. this anime is just fake and everything is done to get people to suck at Charizard and Eevee.
Infernape is my favorite Pokémon; so this was a real treat for me.
Awesome to hear Cole!
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Thanks
Same for me too
I think Ash's Infernape the way Paul treated him in his backstory is sad but I think that the fact he got through it is inspiring
Very true! The most inspiring story always stems from conflict & hardship
Infernape is one of my favorite pokemon that Ash had on his team. really good character development and the rivalry with electivire is super cool too.
Same here, love the monkey!
What I liked about Paul was even though his methods were unsavory downright abhorrent at times he was extremely good at what he did and he made it hard to just write him off when he was so effective.
True, you had to respect the results even though the journey was unsavory
Chimchars journey is actually one of the more favorite one. From bullied and fearful child with a tyrant for a partner. To then a determined brave and loyal warrior a worthy friend
Ash Infernape always does deserve to be, one or Ash top Pokémon’s
I really wanna see ash having a double battle and using both charizad and infernape.
If only!!!!
Pokemon Journeys continually let's fans down.
Even better if that double battle were to be against leon
Infernape and Charizard together would be the ultimate fire duo in a battle.
Do ash's Sceptile next
It's on the roadmap :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Is Gliscor on the map as well, he was my favorite member from Sinnoh after Infernape. His evolution episode showed how much the rivalry with Paul affected Ash. I always found it odd Ash said, "I want Gligar stronger before evolving." It seemed very Paul-like to me.
I don’t care what anyone says, Ash’s Infernape had a better character arc than Ash’s Greninja
Even Greninja fan are agree about that with the exception of the kids
Frogadier had great personality but Greninja completely lost it after evolving
I agree!
I doubt many people would disagree
But he and much stronger.
I think Ash's charmander should have gotten an arc like this. Daman was just a one-off character though. Lot of similarities to him and Paul.
Agreed! I like Charizard but its arc was much more subtle
Chimchar, I feel was decently strong with even Paul, just that he was too Pressurised. But RESPECTS to the man Ash who let the 'mon develop by its own instincts rather than making it tap into 'Blaze'.
(Reference to SOMEONE who always tried doing that)
Paul & Chimchar were definitely a mismatch, good thing Ash came around :)
@@ProfessorAlexSilver Paul is a bit like Seto Kaiba but more on an extreme level that's backed by what Robert De Niro says as his character Jack Byrnes in Meet the Fockers "I learn from pain." So Chimchar's lucky to have a trainer who'll push him hard, but unfortunately, Paul is way too harsh and I can't help but feel at best borderline heartless. It makes me wish that there was a character like Solomon Muto to teach Paul "The heart of the cards". Cynthia could have done that, but I couldn't help but feel she didn't get through to Paul for him to understand. By the way, I can't help but feel that Solomon could feel and see that Ash has "The heart of the cards".
The king has returned!!! Infernape arc is a crown jewel of the pokemon anime. Now if only we could get the answer between who's stronger, Ash's Infernape or his Charizard 😉
He had to do ash charizard history and then compare there battle record for the region there are caught because charizard was used more in other region .
Thanks! That answer is dependant on many, many variables. Perhaps, I'll cover it same day!
@@ProfessorAlexSilver now that would be an awesome video
Of course Infernape.
They took the "Infernape is based on the same guy Goku was" thing very far with that final Blaze in league and I love it all the more for that.
Time to add some long hair and electric crackling
Poor torkoal was rejected from a strong fire type Pokemon of ash😭 in episode 68
Torkoal did great battle with registeel proves that it is not so weak!!
😭😭😭
@@ProfessorAlexSilver 🙁😭
it's been ages since I first watched that match between Infernape and Electivire... Hands down, one of the best face off I've ever seen in Pokemon 😭
It made Infernape one of my favourite Pokemons
Definitely a top 5 battle :)
Paul honestly feels like a mix of Gary and Silver, a combination of game and anime. He may be ruthless at times to his pokemon, but if his team had any reason to leave they would have. For whatever reason they respect Paul and do everything in their power to win. Paul also grows as a character and while still abrasive he doesn't out right reject other people views like he did so in the beginning.
I like that while they're similar, they still have distinct personalities
The boi Infernape let’s go 😍
Hope you enjoy it!
From one main character to another. Man Infernape's story from Paul's punching bag to Ash's lovable underdog is really bringing tears to my eyes everytime we see it.
I always love a good underdog
I’m very glad I’ve found this channel with this, really good stuff! So nostalgic to hear this recap.
Thanks! Glad to be of service :)
Ah Infernape, tied for my second favorite pokemon of all time because of ash's infernape. Professor, is there anywhere else we can find you to talk to?
Charizard to compare them both
Infernape is my second favourite Ash Pokemon (aside from Pikachu). I love it's story and everything it went through. Paul, him learning about how much better Ash was for him, learning to master Blaze. All of it told beautifully. That final match in the league meant something, something poetic and I will always hold it and the battle as a whole in the highest regard of Pokemon media. Infernape is special to me because of the anime and I have to thank it for that.
Good to see Infernape has had such a positive impact :)
Electivire: Paul, what does the Pokedex say about his power level?
Paul: It's over 9000!
Electivire: What! 9000! There's no way that can be right! Could it!
Hahah, love the reference
Got you playing on while vacuuming, and during a break caught myself enjoying your background music 🤘
Rock on!
I LOVE ASH'S INFERNAPE!
Same here Gacha :)
Chimchar has been my favorite starter pokemon throughout all of the anime and video games. This video was made so good!
Thank you!!
This is one of my all-time favorite Pokemon stories. Infernape's one of my favorite Pokemons ever besides Greninja, Blaziken, Sceptile, & some others & this story background was so far in depth that I always go back & watch Diamond & Pearl. I wished that Sceptile had something more in depth even though I thoroughly enjoyed his story, too. He helped shape the Ash-Paul rivalry & not only showed how one trainer's style differentiates from the other, but also showed how treating a Pokemon can affect them in such a grueling way. It came back to bite Paul too.
When Ash & Infernape took down Paul & Electrivire, it was poetic justice!
Still can't believe the amount of quality work you put into these productions. Truly marvelous. And I am pretty sure the final battle of Infernape vs Electivire kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
Thank you so much! It's a lot of work haah
I’d like to think that meowth knew how chimchar felt since meowth history with Persians sure it wasn’t as dark but it’s still somewhat relatable.
The heartbreak from Meowsie was a different kind of hurt but a hurt nonetheless
I just found out about your channel and gotta say.. I love these types of videos! They are very unique and entertaining.. keep it up! :)
Thanks! More to come 😀
10/10 video. Infernape is my favorite Pokémon and Ash’s was a beast during Sinnoh. You’ve done it a major service with this video
Thanks! I always loved its storyline. I'll be tackling Charizard in a few months so I hope to do it justice :D
Just found your channel and it is amazing. Looking forward to the next class!!
Welcome aboard! Hope you've been enjoying everything :) If you need a recommendation, Mimikyu is my favorite
Paul was such a toxic trainer. His respect of ash and infernape finally mean nothing. All that matters is that Chimcar got away from that horrid trainer to find a trainer that loved and cared for him.
I think he found redemption at the end as everyone should be capable of being forgived, but I get not thinking he deserved it
Thank you for the amazing episode! Ash’s Infernape is his best Pokémon in my opinion
Mine too
Looks like I’m going back to rewatch this. You just brought back memories from my childhood I forgot I had
Just wait till I cover Charizard, you'll have a few more hundred episodes to watch XD
You deserve 5 million subs. The quality and attention to detail is bar none. And the accurate history shown here is appreciated.
Thanks so much!!
Yes, besides Pikachu, Infernape is one of my favourite Pokémon because it’s powerful and developed
Thanks! It's up there with with Charizard & Greninja :)
I loved Chimchar/Monferno/Infernape. Someone else said that Infernape was the MVP of Ash's team. I think this is an underwhelming assessment. Infernal was the MVP of this generational series. His B-story provided some emotional investment for viewers and I personally enjoyed watching him progress. He was a Pokémon that had character development which reminded me of Sceptile.
I wish to see Infernape return in future seasons. He already made one appearance against a Motres, but come on! Bring him back!
Hopefully he'll get some redemption :)
I have watched so many of these episodes in the last few days. You do such an amazing job going through all this information and you make it so enjoyable 😊
Thank you!!! Appreciate that :)
I've been waiting for this great video also you deserve way more subs
Thanks!!
Infernape will forever be my favorite pokemon, hands down
Hope this video lived up to the hype then :)
What a beautiful video, I can tell so much hard work is put into what you do. How's it feel having so many students now?? Lol 💯👏
Thanks!! This one was a ton of work haha. It feels great! It's nice to have the many hours put into everything be appreciated
You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this one! 🥰
Hope it was worth the wait :)
You're so underrated even if you are uploading quality content with great editing!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support ;)
I've always felt Infernape was by far the best Fire Starter Ash got in his travels, possessing that warrior spirit and passion that almost perfectly mirrors Ash's never say die attitude and indeed it found its true happiness just by being with Ash and his team.
It's my fav as well
I enjoyed this. First episode I've seen from the professor.
This is kind of how Charmanders story should have gone.
Thanks! Hope you keep enjoying :)
Omg my favorite pokemon ever is the most viewed video in your channel ! Thanks a lot professor !
Thanks!! It's been growing steadily :)
