People always forget to mention that Tobias' Darkai was recovering most of the damage being dealt to it with the move Dream Eater so Sceptile's Leaf Blade was essentially a one-shot against one of the strongest pokemon in the entire series. Not to mention it withstood the most hits from it, including a super effective ice beam.
Dream eater only recovers half of the damage dealt. And given that it lived a mega horn from a guts boosted heracross, it definitely has a lot more hp than heracross and gible. So most likely it was fairly low hp.
Heracross' megahorn is a 140 power bug move, boosted by its supereffectiveness, stab and guts. I have no doubt that Darkrai was on the verge of defeat. So dream eater simply didn't recover sufficient health to be able to survive that leaf blade. So I still think heracross deserves most of the credit.
But sceptile still survives ice beam from a pokemon which defeats all And also woke up only by an ash voice I think thats our plot Club about his strength Still heracross is his strongest bug but sceptile is his strongest Grass type

The fact that Charizard is his only Pokemon in S tier without any external form/power up, z move and ability usage. You can tell he's truly a beast. Just think how broken he would be if he goes Mega or Gigantamax.
This is one of the best things I have heard so far charizard surpasses all of his ace mons in terms of raw power but the others have abilities of their own so all of his ace mons are kind of equal in strength which literally no one acknowledges
@@user-ii6hb9gu1k Very true I believe Ash Charizard will be equal to Alain's Charizard if he ever goes Mega. Their feats in base form are very similar.
I find the way Lucario tried to sneak his way into S Tier hilarious. A lot of these choices caught me off guard but nonetheless l agree with them. So glad Sceptile is considered legendary tier despite a few embarrassing losses. Great video, Zac, and happy birthday!
Let's imagine Ash's team consisting of Pikachu, Greninja, Charizard, Infernape, Scepitile and Dragonite. This team would be fucking amazing: - Two fire type pokémon that is weak against water type? No problem, he has his incredible Pikachu and Sceptile to do the job, beside having Greninja who resistis Water Type moves. And despite having two Fire Type Pokémon, Charizard isn't weak to Ground and Infernape isn't weak to Rock. - Greninja and Sceptile are weak against Bug Type? Use Charizard, Infernape or Dragonite who resists them. - Now talking about 4x weakness. Charizard has trouble with Rock moves and Dragonite has problems with Ice moves.. Fortunatley, Ash can use Infernape Fighting moves or even Pikachu's iconic Iron Tail - Ash's strongest Pokémon, Pikachu, is weak against Ground moves, but he has a Flying Charizard and Greninja and Sceptile to counter them back with Water and Grass moves, Sceptile even resisting them. Pikachu is also very important against Flying Type Pokémon who can give trouble for Infernape and Sceptile.
I feel like it’s infernape cause is returned only once and deserves some more time to shine after getting beat by moltres and also he shouldn’t use two fire types to often so lucario can come here
in regards to Sceptile against Darkrai, keep in mind that Darkrai got off some dream eaters that healed off the damage that it got before. Therefore, because Sceptile took it out with one leaf blade, it really says a lot about how powerful Sceptile actually is.
Ash should have started with Sceptile or Snorlax vs Darkrai and won the league. I wanted to see him train for and fight the Sinnoh Elite 4 so much as a kid, I remember that loss vs Tobias and Ash in Unova made me stop watching Pokemon.
Darkrai one shotted heracross with dream eater and it’s super effective on top of that. Also got one in with sceptile. Pretty much recovered full health. Sceptile can take full credit
Exactly and people are saying that "I hAte sCePtIlE gEtting unworthy recognition cus heracross and gible damaged him" They aren't even thinkin' before saying it
I think Greninja also deserved its spot because it went head-to-head with Diantha’s Mega Gardevoir, and once its Battle Bond was activated and in perfect sync with Ash, I believe it had a chance at defeating Mega Gardevoir if Ash hadn’t passed out.
@@hangesecretlover3083 Yeah it should be first despite Pikachu having more accomplishments but the level of pokemon Greninja has come close to is definitely stronger than Pikachu's feats. For example, mega Charizard x went against the weather trio, zygarde, ten megas I really doubt Pikachu would last against the same Charizard after getting wrecked by it in it's normal form. Even with a z-move against the mega Alain's Charizard is definitely equal to or stronger than the average sub-legendary pokemon and ash Greninja almost beat it.
I think calling his Pikachu a glass cannon is a little strong. I'm always surprised at his toughness and even though yes he can get taken down with enough force it usually takes a lot for Pikachu to stay down. He wouldn't be Ash's ace if he couldn't take a good amount of punishment and went down in one or two hits.
You see, Ash's Pikachu's probably has a second Ability aside from Static. I think it is Regenerator 😂 Everytime he switches out and in Pikachu, it seems like a portion of its HP was back 😂
Darkrai was fully healed after its battle with Heracross because Dream Eater involves a healing process and Darkrai defeated Heracross with this single attack!
I agree with this predominantly, Gengar’s going to be the Hawlucha of Pokemon Journeys - deals all the damage so others can finish them off, which means it’s going to have a shit win rate, but true stans know it’s role
At least hawlucha had a solid win record And being there to just weaken opponents isn't really that useful. A Pokemon shows promise when it racks up wins, more than losses
Hey JPR tell him he's not taking in account that Darkrai had used Dream Eater twice. And one of those times was enough to knock out Heracross! so than Darkrai had to be if not 100% Mabye between 80 and 90% HP
Part of me wonders if Ash will ever switch his Pokémon around with the ones he has at oaks more. Would love to see him train with some of his older Pokémon again and improve/evolve some of them. It would also make some battles more unpredictable at times.
17:12 - I love Dracovich's personality. Since it's a newborn (or newly resurrected), I love how it goes about figuring out how everything works, even its own body. First showing affection by nibbling and gnawing on Ash, learning how to swim at full speed by just running along the ocean floor, figuring out how to do Vicious Rend for the first time when Ash asks it if it can do it, and on top of that everyone's reactions whenever they see it pop up, since they have no idea what the heck it even is, lol. Iris's Dragonite's reaction to seeing it made me crack up, since it was like 'what the hell is that thing and why is it chewing on that human?' Also, that K.O combo Dracovich did on Dragonite was the quickest and most brutal K.O I've ever seen one of Ash's Pokemon do against such a powerful opponent. Just... damn...
Pikachu's analysis is why I also think it's Ash's strongest Pokemon. Pikachu might be a power house but it's still a fragile, light, tiny little rat. It's literally the definiton of a glass cannon. It can't take too many hits but if it starts dishing them out, you *better* get some good hits in or else you're fainting soon. It's probably the best Pokemon for Ash to bring to every region. Having it strong but small frail let's it lose more believably than Charizard or Sceptile. TLDR; Pikachu's awesome.
@@purgeblue lol stupid. everyone has plot armor in the anime. have you ever wondered why a bunch of kids never dies when there is a conflict between legendaries and god pokemon? and tobias just came out of nowhere with 2 legendaries and won the league. now that's plot armor.

Infernape should have a lot more credit for its battle against Paul. This Pokemon managed to survive 2 recoils, poison, and powerful hits such as double edge and thunder while taking out HALF of his team. Mind you, this Pokemon is fast and hard-hitting but fragile. So if you want some proof of how powerful this Pokemon is, there you go.
Also ngl Infernape may have lost against moltres but that's an airborn legendary if it was a legendary on the ground like say Entei then he would've done much better even without blaze
@@UmbraStarWolf yeah at least Buizel, Pikachu, and Gliscor bad their moments unlike Gary where Tauros, Bayleaf and Muk accomplish absolutely nothing so I say Charizard carried the Gary battle SLIGHTLY more
I would love to see a tournament where Ash goes in with a team consisting of what the writers considers his canonically strongest Pokémon from all of the series. What would it consist off by the writer’s own takes? And how powerful would it be?
Even I want that, and I want him to fight no-one other than Tobais who basically destroyed him and every other trainer. I want to see a match between both of them with their full power.
The interesting thing about that to me is that Ash is shown he's smart enough to also consider balance. So maybe he'll notice there's a lot of overlap between Charizard and Infernape, and so sub out the Charizard for a weaker, but tankier Dragonite.
Pikachu looses to small fries because it has a hidden ability "Big game winner" gets bonus against the opponents with the higher total stats gets penalty for the opponents with lower total stats.
@@eljordinio7647 It’s still impressive because logically dirt being wet should not make it take more damage from electricity. This is also shown in the game as even despite the rain weather effect being active a ground type Pokémon will still not take damage from an electric type move.
Interestingly Ash's Charizard never uses any hacks, he just squares up. Imagine if it activates it's Blaze or Mega evolves (X) And while you didn't include movies. Ash was pretty confident that it could take out Entei and at least don damage against the strongest pokemon Mewtwo. At some point the writers might just give him something else busted to put it on top.

Glad you put respect on the emotional fire turtle's name! No joke, Torkoal vs. Registeel is one of my FAVORITE battles in the anime. I don't really count Sceptile vs. Regirock at Ash's FIRST battle with Brandon because that was a "match" to help Ash get the spirit of that evil king of Pokelantis or whatever the heck it was. I know Brandon was saying a few times in the battle that Ash's confidence was too great, but nah I think Ash kept his cool and put on one of the finest battles showing the connection between himself and his Pokemon on full display! That Heat Wave/Sandstorm cyclone was epic! *Always wondered how Torkoal was capable of leaping off the ground at great heights like he did to enter the TOP OF THE CYCLONE to land a Body Slam on Registeel, but couldn't stand on its hind legs to kick a soccer ball...
Torkoal was a hit or miss pokemon. His battle with Registeel was pretty lit...it's a shame he couldn't put up the same fight against Tobias's Darkrai, they did him pretty dirty like that.
If torkoal just pulled out the win here he would have redeemed himself in a lot of fans' eyes. Doesn't help that in the next fight against a legendary, he gets completely wrecked without landing a hit
@@eljordinio7647 Yeah exactly...especially considering, both Heracross and Gibble put up a much better fight (actually landing a solid hit each and managing to exchange and dodge blows).
@@eljordinio7647 Yes absolutely. Sceptile deserves praise for that. Also keep in mind, Darkrai had pulled off two Dream Eaters which would have recovered some of the damage it took.
When you take into account all the regional gimmicks from Kalos going forward, Z-moves are without a doubt the most universal out of them provided Ash has the crystals for them. Only a select few are capable of Mega Evolution provided they have the stones, and if certain pokemon on the list evolve: Greninja with Battle Bond, Charizard, Sceptile, Lucario, Bulbasaur if it becomes Venusaur, Gengar, Squirtle if it becomes Blastoise, Glalie, Gible if it becomes Garchomp, Heracross, and Pidgeot. As of this point, only Pikachu and maybe Gengar can access Gigantamax. And really, Gengar is the only one capable of all three, which might make it a nasty contender if Ash ever gets his hands on a Gengarite.
Most of Ash's NFE pokemon are NFE for a reason tho. It's like saying " imagine Pikachu as a Raichu" they are at their strongest in the form they prefer.
10:07 I actually totally believe this. I also think this is why Ash doesn't have a lot of Psychic or Ghost types. Look back on Gengar vs. Raichu. Gengar straight up goes intangable when Raichu swipes it's tail and when Psychic hits Raichu (or anyone for that matter) moving just isn't an option anymore and Gengar can do whatever it wants with them. Psychic is an absolutely BROKEN move in the anime which is why the writers only allow to be used on another Pokemon every once in a while and usually leave it for moving objects. Cause if Psychic could be used multiple times, the battle would go to the Psychic user no doubt. Thus, Ash hasn't had a Psychic type for generations and Psychic goes used in battle like once.
Making Ash’s Old Pokémon from Kanto to Kalos return in the Alola League could also mean they could use Z moves which is mainly why I wanted thes pokemon to return in Alola League.
Mimey is probably sits in D or C. He's had like 2 battles and only one of them was from a respectable opponent. He's impressive but would need more battles to bump it's placement up.
@@castform7 I'd say at least A tier because it suffered no damage against a fully evolved hariama. Mimey is no joke. PS: yes, I know that mimey has a 4x resistance to fighting but srsly, look at Mr mimes base stat.
@@CowpokeChrist Eh, I put it as the same calibur of Primeape's P1 Grandprix victories. Hodge did seem like a good trainer but still kind of a slightly above average one. I'm not really sure if Mimey's champion level. I'd say middle of C to bottom of B.
It's crazy to come back to this video now after Ash became the Pokemon Master. Pikachu is still deserved at the top spot - even more so since it has the capability to do Gigantamax, and it's Z-Move is still near impossible to defend unless it's countered by a Gigantamax move (and even then, the clash of two such moves nearly doomed the Galar region and required a Legendary Pokemon to come and deal with it.) Also wouldn't mind seeing Lucario get moved up to S-Tier now, considering it trained for a short time with Ash's Greninja to work on it's Aura bond with Ash and was capable of doing a Daimax Aura Sphere outside of actually being Dynamaxed (or even Mega Evolved, though it's obviously easier in Mega Evo form). One of the best episodes was when Ash went back to Professor Oak's to train with his Masters Team with his old Pokemon - with the entire team learning new tricks from the training. I just wish Ash had actually considered switching some of his team for others, though some weren't available (such as his Greninja which is still at the forest dealing with the aftermath of XYZ.)
He definitely shouldve mix n matched members like he did in Sinnoh, yeah. At least against Steven and Cynthia, obviously the main team would all go aganist Leon
Something i hope Journeys or a future series addresses is Ash's difficulty with handling tankier pokemon, nearly every one he's owned he's had trouble really bringing out their best and that's natural he rely's on speedy pokemon alot so it makes sense a slower one he would'nt quite know how to make that work. But that's why I think it would be neat for a good trainer to point that out to him because then he'll work on it.
Honestly the issue with Torterra could be interpreted as Ash not adjusting well to the loss of speed. It was quick as a Turtwig, but lost it when it evolved.
@@windy3935 "torterra was poor to make Infernape look better".I badly disagree with this..sure, Infernape might take some torterra's spotlight but that's not the main reason why torterra suck..unlike noivern, torterra got a good amount of chances to battle and got a type advantages on top of that (unlike noivern who are forced to fight steel, salamence and ice type)..imo, torterra should beat Paul's drapion after he recovered with synthesis but nope, he just died in one hit after recovered..or let torterra win against paul's aggron rather than Infernape
23:02 actually Darkrai used dream eater to heal damage, so technically he was at (least closed to) full health. So this feat is kinda equivalent to a one shoting a legendary
@@eljordinio7647 I know that, I'm just saying Darkrai was never shown healing and nobody ever pointed it out in the battle, so the anime might've gotten goofy with it again.
You also have to take into account that most of Darkrai's damage was healed before it went up against Sceptile and Alain's Charizard had already taken 2 super effective thunderbolts from Pikachu before battling Greninja.
I just checked it and Charizard did take two thunderbolts from Pikachu. Also, Sceptile had no power-up, but Greninja did. Seems to me Sceptile’s stronger. Honestly this tier list makes me so mad that Ash didn’t use Charizard, Infernape, and Sceptile in the Kalos league! That team definitely would’ve won against Alain, maybe even Cynthia.
But things that people forget or choose to ignore about Charizard for obvious reasons. 1. Most of the losses was due to Ash's inexperience a lot of his older pokemon could be included here. 2. Since the battle against Articuno always comes up. It was frontier brain using Articuno not just Articuno on it's own. 3. No ability to boost power, no mega evolution, no battle bond to make it special, and no op Z move. Just the power it gained training. That's why it still the boss to this day.
Greninja has the bond that’s why he’s ahead you can’t just take it away and say Charizard is better because he doesn’t have the bond that’s now how it works
@@clarenceblaze8610 the point is if charizard gets a mega, he will be even better than battle bond greninja, as he is already such a powerhouse without mega

In the near future, would you make a tier list of ace Pokemon on ash’s rivals, companions, elite 4 members and champions? I’m curious to know your thoughts
I wonder how much stronger Ash's pokemon would be if he used them to their full potential. Gible is very strong, but imagine if Ash evolved it all the way to Garchomp. And Torkoal is one of my favorite pokemon, and I'm glad it got as high as it did! I personally think it's a fairly underrated pokemon!
With the more recent episodes on Pokemon Journeys, I would rank up Lucario and Gengar to S and A, respectively. Being able to mega evolve and gigantamax deserves recognition as Ash's ace pokemons.
Also, Why on earth did many of Ash’s old pokémon not return in the Kalos or Alola League? In the Kalos, League some of Ash’s pokémon could have mega Evolved such as Heracross, Sceptile… For the Alola League, some of the pokémon could have learned Z-moves like Lumiose Traine Zac predicted in the Alola League!! Sadly none of this happened!!! Why pokémon creators!? Why?
I was excited when Gengar was with Ash. He was one of my team sweepers. With the right movesets and being first to make a move. He could easily take down most teams.
This list is literally the MOST ACCURATE list I have seen here. I could note a few changes but nothing major. I would move Snorlax to S because he is the most consistent Pokemon, always winning at least one match before going down. Most of Ash's Alola and Galar team are in A Class (which is accurate) because we haven't seen enough of them. On paper, Noivern, Hawlucha, and Talonflame look good, but they actually were meh.
The inaccurate pokemon is Rowlet at C Tier, should've gone higher since He is the round boi and he had that Ninja Skills even though he is a Quill in the first Place HAHAHAHAHAHA
I mean Talonflame was also consistent as well. Since it was a Fletchinder it never went down alone, the thing even defeated that Avalugg that humiliated Greninja.
Changes I'd make I agree with yours btw Bulbasaur should be upper B possibly even A his performance against Brandon was amazing Heracross should ABSOLUTELY be in B tier despite its low usage this thing can withstand a bunch of fire from Gary's magmar and land a solid hit on Darkrai Gliscor should be B I know low usage but remember it only had one battle after air training and it defeated Paul's Drapion which tbh didn't have much damage. Also while it lost against Paul's Torterra in lake acuity it still landed solid hits on it and actually started running out of breath (I rewatched that fight recently) Bayleaf should be C mainly cause how it took on Harrisons houndoom despite disadvantage
First of all, happy birthday! 2ndly, this tier list is spot on. I'm happy to see my boys finally getting some recognition despite their losses, talking about Torterra and Noivern. I loved how detailed this list was and I 100% agree for sure. I was mostly shocked about Torkoal, but after hearing the reasoning and the battles it had, it makes total sense. Lucario will definitely reach S tier as journey progresses, no doubt in my mind. Overal, amazing list, reasoning and details behind each pokemons battles and history make complete sense. Hope Gengar will get more love too, though seeing his upcoming Gigantamax teaser, i'm sure he will steal the spotlights soon and deserves more praising.
I love this video! I am so impressed with ash’s swellow. It never gave an average battle and in Hoenn, it always defeated a Pokémon! It went against Pikachu early on and did amazing!
I'm glad you gave Goodra a fair shake this time around. It was a fun laugh in the win rates video but it's still a super powerful Pokemon especially when Bide comes out. Then the battle becomes a question of whether or not you can take out Goodra before it blasts you with a giant white beam with double the power you just dealt.
It's honestly still too high, since aside from beating Luxray, Godra didn't do anything impressive to be in A tier. It's honestly should be in the middle of B tier, according to Zac's power scale and that even generous
@@mr.mystery9940 Yeah I'd have to agree. While Torkoal and Torterra did really well in their fights with elite four level trainers despite losing, Goodra hasn't had such luxury when it came to fights in the Kalos league. It didn't do bad but it hasn't really shown that caliber of strength that gets you in A tier. The lowest I'd put him is mid B though.
i would really like to see you make a video on YOUR pokemon journey, all the pokemon you would capture and all the regions, i have a feeling that it would be so cool!
The fact that only pikachu made it to the final team, when he could dominate soooo damn hard with his actual ace team and would feel like an equal challenge to leons team.
When you mentioned Raihan’s strength while talking about Lucario, it is true, the wiki even says he’s strong enough to become a champion in another region, but he stays in galar cause he wants to beat Leon, obviously, who is the strongest champion
The problem is that's only game lore, not anime, so Galar characters has more hype than a substance behind them. I mean, do they really want us believe that Rose, who's according to game info is as strong as a champion or Bea, who's according to game can be at E4 lvl lost to Riolu, that just hatched less than 20 episodes ago? Yeah, while Raihan showed that he's at least can hold it's own against other champions, Bea and Rose are clearly way weaker in the anime, than they're in the games
@@Sinvallis or Charizard without D-Max isn't so impressive, so no wonder it looks good in comparison. Plus the guy is only at the 7th place, means, he's clearly weaker then most of champions
To be fair with some of Ash's unova Pokemon, he did catch more than usual so it isn't as though they got to have time in the spotlight. Along with some such as muk, lapras, heracross, tauros, and others weren't used so much.
The problem is still that he didn't cycle the unova mons around much. He kept Pikachu, snivy, oshawatt and pignite. So he only cycled the last 2 slots, limiting their growth and really made them weaker
Honestly, he really should have just caught Levanny, Pignite, Palpitoad, Krookodile and Unfezhant (just because he needs a flyer). I feel as though with this, enough screen time could be given and Pignite and Palpitoad could of evolved and become powerhouses.
I decided to learn about Pokemon today, and I binged like ten vids about the lore and show. This vid was by VERY far the best vid on explaining why mons are strong, weak, so so etc.
Happy Birthday Zac! My wishes for you - 1. I hope you catch a lot of full odds shiny Pokemon the next time you play (Raises hands in the air to send shiny luck) 2. Good health and happiness (a close second, but let's face it, shinies are more important)

Let's imagine Ash's team consisting of Pikachu, Greninja, Charizard, Infernape, Scepitile and Dragonite. This team would be fucking amazing:
- Two fire type pokémon that is weak against water type? No problem, he has his incredible Pikachu and Sceptile to do the job, beside having Greninja who resistis Water Type moves. And despite having two Fire Type Pokémon, Charizard isn't weak to Ground and Infernape isn't weak to Rock.
- Greninja and Sceptile are weak against Bug Type? Use Charizard, Infernape or Dragonite who resists them.
- Now talking about 4x weakness. Charizard has trouble with Rock moves and Dragonite has problems with Ice moves.. Fortunatley, Ash can use Infernape Fighting moves or even Pikachu's iconic Iron Tail
- Ash's strongest Pokémon, Pikachu, is weak against Ground moves, but he has a Flying Charizard and Greninja and Sceptile to counter them back with Water and Grass moves, Sceptile even resisting them. Pikachu is also very important against Flying Type Pokémon who can give trouble for Infernape and Sceptile.

Which other electric pokemon can damage or KO ground types using electric moves

I think Mr Mime is technically Ash's Mom Pokemon, and she lends it to Ash
It's crazy to come back to this video now after Ash became the Pokemon Master. Pikachu is still deserved at the top spot - even more so since it has the capability to do Gigantamax, and it's Z-Move is still near impossible to defend unless it's countered by a Gigantamax move (and even then, the clash of two such moves nearly doomed the Galar region and required a Legendary Pokemon to come and deal with it.)
Also wouldn't mind seeing Lucario get moved up to S-Tier now, considering it trained for a short time with Ash's Greninja to work on it's Aura bond with Ash and was capable of doing a Daimax Aura Sphere outside of actually being Dynamaxed (or even Mega Evolved, though it's obviously easier in Mega Evo form).
Ash: Is that everyone?
Zac: What, you wanted more?
Something i hope Journeys or a future series addresses is Ash's difficulty with handling tankier pokemon, nearly every one he's owned he's had trouble really bringing out their best and that's natural he rely's on speedy pokemon alot so it makes sense a slower one he would'nt quite know how to make that work. But that's why I think it would be neat for a good trainer to point that out to him because then he'll work on it.
Not really. Ash did amazing with Snorlax and Goodra. Torterra was just poor writing and done to make Infernape look better.

Steel wing is a better move overall

Honestly after the latest episode, I'd say Ash's Greninja could give the #1 spot a run for it's money. That frog does not look like it's playing around anymore.
That's for sure 😴 undisputed #1
Nah charizard pikachu infernape stronger
@@gabrieldeanda6587 no chance he almost be at mega evolved charizard so he'll destroy ashes and pikachu got clapped by level 5 snivy

Pikachu losing to Trip's Snivey was plot armor. They wanted Ash's new rival to win. So they gave it a move that it wouldn't be able to have at that point.

Charizard in S tier?
The only Legendary Pokemon Pikachu couldn’t defeat, couldn’t land a single hit or do absolutely no damage to was Mewtwo, FREAKING MEWTWO
And that was Generation 1
@@RacketEPIC Generation 8 actually. He fought Mewtwo in journeys.
Then again Mewtwo is insanely busted. No way even the legendary slayer would have stood a chance

That intro was genuinely unique and funny, instantly gained a sub on both my accounts. wishin success on you brother
In the near future, would you make a tier list of ace Pokemon on ash’s rivals, companions, elite 4 members and champions? I’m curious to know your thoughts
Don't forget that boldore had a double disadvantage against clay's excadrill as it was a ground and steel type, both of which are strong against rock
*"Pikachu's a glass cannon."*
- Lumiose Trainer Zac
I wonder how much stronger Ash's pokemon would be if he used them to their full potential. Gible is very strong, but imagine if Ash evolved it all the way to Garchomp.
And Torkoal is one of my favorite pokemon, and I'm glad it got as high as it did! I personally think it's a fairly underrated pokemon!
Lost to a tropius, hariyama, steelix,n manectric by thunder wave that only paralyzes ur opponent not damage
23:03 I just have to say this Darkrai used dream eater which heals against Sceptile so Darkrai was healed a good amount when Sceptile woke up
It'd be nice to have a Pikachu with those incredible stats as Ash's Pikachu has.
this video reminded me of how powerfull Ash's pikachu is. Sometimes i just forget how strong our boi is.
Zac we really need an updated version of ranking every ash's Mon especially now that ash is a champion and the older mons got some screentime
Your videos are awesome the amount of effort you put into them is unreal
I'm so proud of infernape! Chimchar was my first ever pokemon in a pokemon game. I was hoping for him to be S tier.
Same
With the more recent episodes on Pokemon Journeys, I would rank up Lucario and Gengar to S and A, respectively. Being able to mega evolve and gigantamax deserves recognition as Ash's ace pokemons.
Don’t forget sirfetched he is definitely elite four tier. Dragonite and dracovish are still S tier tho
Also mr. Mime got a battle and killed it throw him in c or d lol
Many things changed 😂dragonite and alans charizard totally nerfed , kamon definitely in s tier and pikachu not legendary but God tier
Happy Birthday, Zactoshi!!! And Even if that Dancing Croc Totodile is the weakest link of Ash’s Team, I still love him 🐊❤️❤️🎂🎉🎉🎂🥳🥳

I personally think a pokémon with a higher win rate than another and having the same number of battles is better than the other pokémon.
Why?
for the swellow hitting deoxys bit. dont forget deoxys was also in its speed form. which at the time was the fastest mon in existence
I was excited when Gengar was with Ash. He was one of my team sweepers. With the right movesets and being first to make a move. He could easily take down most teams.
True
When I rewatch this video today I realized it was Zach’s birthday 2 days ago
Nope they weren't meh
Changes I'd make I agree with yours btw
Bulbasaur should be upper B possibly even A his performance against Brandon was amazing
Heracross should ABSOLUTELY be in B tier despite its low usage this thing can withstand a bunch of fire from Gary's magmar and land a solid hit on Darkrai
Gliscor should be B I know low usage but remember it only had one battle after air training and it defeated Paul's Drapion which tbh didn't have much damage. Also while it lost against Paul's Torterra in lake acuity it still landed solid hits on it and actually started running out of breath (I rewatched that fight recently)
Bayleaf should be C mainly cause how it took on Harrisons houndoom despite disadvantage
@@WheelStart I just commented why Heracross should definitely be in B or maybe even A
0:06 it’s cool how you can see how much progress zac made
Yeah!!!!! Very excited for this🔥🔥🔥
happy birthday zac ❤❤❤
this is the best & accurate power scalling video I've ever seen
Yeah its not. If we talk about feats, Talonflame, Glalie and Tauros are miles above Noivern, Incineroar, Goodra and Naganadel combined.
I love this video! I am so impressed with ash’s swellow. It never gave an average battle and in Hoenn, it always defeated a Pokémon! It went against Pikachu early on and did amazing!
Except Brawly's Makuhita
@@eljordinio7647 luckily that was early on then again it had a type advantage THEN AGAIN the gym before ash's treecko lost due to lack of grass moves
@@LegendaryCaptain some use he was without a single stab move
I'm glad you gave Goodra a fair shake this time around. It was a fun laugh in the win rates video but it's still a super powerful Pokemon especially when Bide comes out. Then the battle becomes a question of whether or not you can take out Goodra before it blasts you with a giant white beam with double the power you just dealt.
Or triple since it usually got hit three times before firing bide
It's honestly still too high, since aside from beating Luxray, Godra didn't do anything impressive to be in A tier. It's honestly should be in the middle of B tier, according to Zac's power scale and that even generous
@@mr.mystery9940 Yeah I'd have to agree. While Torkoal and Torterra did really well in their fights with elite four level trainers despite losing, Goodra hasn't had such luxury when it came to fights in the Kalos league. It didn't do bad but it hasn't really shown that caliber of strength that gets you in A tier. The lowest I'd put him is mid B though.
@@narxmagee727 i mean I did tie against sawyers slurpuff a Pokémon it’s weak to.
i would really like to see you make a video on YOUR pokemon journey, all the pokemon you would capture and all the regions, i have a feeling that it would be so cool!

That's actually the opposite of ironic
@@moaa042 still really funny how close they are regardless
Tbf charizard has battled way more than infernape
@@Saif-jj6cj not true. Go back to the win rate video, they're quite close
@@moaa042 oops
i love how half of ash's unovan team is in the average tier
The fact that only pikachu made it to the final team, when he could dominate soooo damn hard with his actual ace team and would feel like an equal challenge to leons team.
When you mentioned Raihan’s strength while talking about Lucario, it is true, the wiki even says he’s strong enough to become a champion in another region, but he stays in galar cause he wants to beat Leon, obviously, who is the strongest champion
And before the player beats Leon Raihan is the trainer who knocked out most of Leon's pokemon. In the games
I mean raihan is on a lvl with Lance who is Kanto champ/top 4 and iris who is champ aswell, I am pretty sure he is on top4/champ lvl aswell
@@Sinvallis Lance is champion of Jotho. He is elite 4 in Kanto
@@Sinvallis or Charizard without D-Max isn't so impressive, so no wonder it looks good in comparison. Plus the guy is only at the 7th place, means, he's clearly weaker then most of champions
This thumbnail is elite!! Happy birthday Zac!! Mark my words the day that we collab, Harrison will be in the video
@@blitz4779 my point exactly, the unova team wasn't switched around a whole lot and didn't get to become stronger.
Finally someone not shitting on muk
Honestly, he really should have just caught Levanny, Pignite, Palpitoad, Krookodile and Unfezhant (just because he needs a flyer). I feel as though with this, enough screen time could be given and Pignite and Palpitoad could of evolved and become powerhouses.
If you wanna talk about mons not getting spotlight, Kingler wasn’t even used in the Johto league while every Ashmon at this point was 🪦🪦🪦
I decided to learn about Pokemon today, and I binged like ten vids about the lore and show. This vid was by VERY far the best vid on explaining why mons are strong, weak, so so etc.
I love how Zack brings back his old sprites
