    Excellent Thank you! Great Video, calm instruction, music not to load and didn't cause me to move on. I was successfully able to disassemble and reassemble my Moen kitchen faucet based on your video. I got my parts based on the year I purchased the house. Customer service will help you determine the model based on year of last install and after you take a picture and send to them. Thank goodness because I had the wrong model. Used White Vinegar to dissolve the loosen all the water mineral deposits. Had to let it sit for a few minutes.

    I needed new O rings for my Moen faucet for quite a long time. I replaced the cartridge 6 months ago but it kept leaking the same place yours is. I called them last week to order the O rings. I got them the other day but they didn't send instructions, so I watched your video here and did it as you did. It was effortless. Thanks so much for posting this.

    I also wanted to echo what you stated about Moen backing up their warranty with free replacement parts. They sent us all the necessary parts to fix our faucet without any hesitation. I am now a fan of Moen!

      @@DIYLifeSkills You bet! Quick question. Do they have the correct o-ring sizes at Home Depot or Menards?

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  2 года назад

      @@JayZoop Yeah most faucet’s share common size. In my previous video to this, I bought the parts at Lowe’s because that’s where I had bought the faucet originally.

      Moen will send you all the parts that you need and they won’t ask for any proof of purchase other than asking some questions like when you bought it what store. The only problem is, you have to wait a week or longer to receive the parts.

      @@DIYLifeSkills I'm looking to repair it this weekend. I"m assuming the O-ring size is 1-1/2" O.D. and possible 1/8" thick. It's very difficult to find Moen Kit 146789 from a place that is open during the weekend. I might just buy Danco O-ring kit, and try to visually match the size.

    • @JayZoop
      @JayZoop 2 года назад +1

      @@DIYLifeSkills I figured it out. My Wetherly Moen faucet calls for an O-ring kit #146789. I successfully replaced the two O-rings with Danco #97 O-ring which is 1-5/8” O.D., 1/8” thick.

    Your video is the only one I could find with the upper bearing kit, the 'broken' crown piece. When I took it apart it fell out and wasn't sure where it went. Mine came with a small gauge O ring and the same O ring came with the new parts. Your install didn't have the O ring around the bearing kit and mine wouldn't go together with it in place...Thanks to your video, I seen the error of my ways and I corrected it so thanks, I subbed..

    I can't even get the neck to come off of my Moen kitchen faucet! Maybe it's seized up?

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  3 года назад

      Can you describe in detail how far you’ve gotten to? Did you remove the black round plastic ring that holds the sprout (faucet outlet)?

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  3 года назад

      Also the rubber O-rings seal the base of the faucet pretty tight to prevent leak so it does take some force to pull the base out.

    • @DIYLifeSkills
      @DIYLifeSkills  3 года назад

      Spraying some WD40 or penetrating oil around where the o-rings are and let it soak fore few minutes will help loosen the base so that you can lift up on it.
      The metal base is sealed with rubber o-rings so I doubt that it’s siezed. If your faucet is already leaking and either needs repair or replacement, then in the worst case you’ll break it and have to replace it. But I think if you oil it and just put more strength, it’ll wiggle out.
      Let me know how it goes.

      @@DIYLifeSkills Thanks for your reply. I couldn't remove the neck, but I did spray the base with WD40 and some CLR as it was quite dirty. Put everything back together and the faucet is working fine now, no leaks.
