Been avoiding things for 2.5 years since a crazy lower back injury which put me out of work for 6 months. Realized I messed up bad "resting" too much and avoiding movements because I was scared of being out of work for more time. Slowly getting back into it now and hoping its not too late 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Thank you so much for this video Dr. Davis! I just came across you and at 13 minutes into the video I had to pause it and bust out crying. This is me! Getting to the point of giving up! So much pain, sick of laying on the couch, get up do stuff, all pain comes back! WTF?! I need to figure this out so I can get back to normal and I have been entirely doubting that it will ever be possible. Thank you for you!

I was told by my surgeon that my backbone isn't straight but curved.
He said that operating on bones are difficult.
He suggested steroid injection & physcial & massage therapy.
    Neither one has worked.
    I'm still in pain.
    Pain in lower back
    both cheeks of my butt.
Both thighs, groin, knees, below knees.
sometimes calves, ankles, feet & toes.
I can't do anything without pain.

You arent wrong.. im on week 9 of trying to heal and have avoided 90% of activities. I have in that time completely forgotten how to move my body. This fear has totally reprogrammed my brain and its terrifying. There is zero natural movement left and im only 39. The stress is more than most people can handle, myself included.

I've been there, it sucks. Fear is the #1 limiter in the rehab process and we need to find a way through it without causing a flare up. If you're also dealing with a lot of stress, I'd strongly recommend watching the masterclass to understand the real impact of fear and stress on chronic pain, and how to get out of that cycle: www.shapeshiftwellness.com/LBP-masterclass

I know swearing has become more common these days and when used like you did, it can be used to really emphasize a point. The difficulty I'm having is that I'd like to forward your video to some friends who I think could really benefit from all of your experience and wisdom. However I'm a bit hesitant because they are old school and aren't fond of swearing. It isn't just the F bomb and the word shit, but using God's name as well. I understand that to a lot of people it just doesn't matter but to some it does. I don't think using those words will keep most of your viewers from still watching, but it might keep some people from passing on your videos to people who can really use your help and the hope and healing it can bring.
I sure appreciate your wisdom and help, thanks Doc...

Great video, he's definitely right, back injuries take forever to heal. I've had sciatica for almost 8 months im now able walk long distances without much pain, before I could bearily walk to the bathroom due to lower back pain and sciatica due to disc herniation. Definitely can't over do it but also can't lay in bed all day either

A quick question I had an X-ray done. However, Ive yet had Mri performed. In their findings, they stated that there was loss of disc height In Lfive s one. With bony end plate changes. The radiologist did not tell me much about this. I am 41 years old, and I'm still trying to figure out what all that means.

@@ShapeshiftWellness Thanks for responding. I will watch the video. Not bending or twisting for 7 years now, I’m just so scared. Than other things began to hurt, hip pain, knee pain, real bad Achilles tendinitis. My lower body is SO TIGHT. Not sure if it’s from constant neural tension or just muscles guarding. To avoid those new pains, I started avoiding more activities. I won’t step up or down curbs, avoid stairs, tying my shoes, bending to wash my legs in the shower (use a long brush) I pick things up off the floor with a grabber . It’s so bad Doc. And now I’m nervous because I don’t want to do too much too soon because I don’t know how weak or fragile I am now. Or maybe I’m not so weak and I’m just too damn fearful. It’s a nightmare.

The best thing is always to see a real doctor. Thanks for acknowledging my frustration, though. Would like to know what all these letters A B C etc actually stand for

    • @ShapeshiftWellness
      @ShapeshiftWellness  9 месяцев назад +1

Masterclass is free 🤷‍♂️ Each step is different for each individual. What people need is a customized plan that meets them where they are at so they don’t do too little for too long or too much too fast, both of which result in re-injury. So “A B C” is different for each person.

This is SO case-specific. I'd need to actually go through a proper history and intake with you to give you any personalized advice. There are indeed cases where people should have surgery and it will result in good outcomes, but it depends on the dozens of questions I'd need to ask you personally on a consultation. I do offer online consults if you ever want one. Let me know!
