Glad to have found you did it and highly recommend it for anyone. Also a great review for me about maintaining the proper form, which I know I got lax at. God bless everyone

Many: Post exotic high level exercises/movements & show off Few: Distinguish well between pro & beginner & say "maintain form" But this channel, precisely explains and shows how & where usually people go wrong, how certain weak muscles force you to compensate a certain action & ways to avoid it. Hats off for your efforts. My sincere appreciation for your channel. thank you master🙏
I feel lower back pain just from trying to maintain an upright position. Most of the exercises I do are the ones you've said we should avoid. Definitely needed this.
Sometimes it’s the way you do them, rather than the exercise itself. For example, you can do leg lifts, but put your hands under your buttocks for improved leverage and don’t lower your legs down all the way to the floor. Lower them no further than a 30° angle from the floor. It’s one exercise of dozens my physical therapist recommended, later in my physical therapy training. So, don’t do them initially. Do them later, once you have built up strength doing the others, easier exercises. I no longer do situps, but I do crunches, like he demonstrated here.
Back pain is very rarely about muscle imbalances. Strength training is still the most effective way, but not because of muscle imbalances. And not with exercises like these. Squats, and deadlifts are more efficient, easier and better to train proper movement. And most people get back pain because they stay in one position too much, do very repetitive movements and/or obesity. Pluss then they relax by sitting. Which is a position were the lower back do not relax. If you want to lower back to relax then you need to lay down or hang
@Foot Connexion if it's a treatment done to you. Then it's gonna be less effective than treatments you do yourself, aka, lifting. This is what's shown from research.
@@GoalOrientedLifting Some people are too weak to do deadlifts though. Doing exercises that utilizes the body only first seems more logical to me. As the person builds on their strength they can graduate to things like deadlifts.

I was having mild lower back pain, so I starting this routine. After a week or two adding this to my mornings, the pain receded enough that I could get back to my workouts. Admittedly I haven't had to do this too often since, but it really got my back on track. I recommended it to everyone who complains to me about back pain. Thank you so much!
@qazq oaoo yeah. It really helped me out. I don't have any serious injuries but I've had lower back pain off and own throughout my life. After trying this video's movements, my back pain receded and hasn't been a problem since.
@qazq oaoo I did it daily for about 5 days at first. It hurt the first day but my back felt looser than before. My muscles ached from doing unfamiliar movement, but after about the Third day, that new ache faded and took the old pain with it. I kept doing it for the next two days of my work week and rested for the next two days on my weekend. My back felt fine after the first week but I did it again for the next week and the pain didn't come back. Again, I don't have any serious back injuries or anything, just undiagnosed back pain that kept coming back probably from being out of shape or sleeping in a lumpy bed, but this definitely helped.

Hello my brother! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen your videos I have written a comment to you. I just wanted to tell you thank you very much for this video. The reason has to do with the fact that in my own neighborhood here in Japan, I have become a sort of fitness & core training instructor for the neighborhood. The lesson is every Friday evening at 7 PM. I’m having a lot of fun with the students. The class is geared for people in the ages of 30, 40 and 50 years of age. At this age training is so very important. Just simple exercises for people in this age range is very important. I’ve never said this to you but I am 54 years of age. While I did enjoy this video very very much and will use it as a reference in my own personal lesson in my neighborhood class, I would really like to say that I really enjoyed the plants in your kitchen in the opening scene. I love plants very much! Peace and blessing to you and yours from Fukuoka, Japan.

First of all, what the hell did i just stood upon your channel link, didn't know you just sit there in your desk screen for over 10 hours making that kind of inaproppriate art service and play videogames for a living
From what I have learnt, the knee to chest stretch should be avoided if you suffer from disc issues. Strengthening the abs and glutes in a safe way - yes. Controlled cat cow movements won't hurt either. I would, however replace the stretch with some spinal decompression and add some Mc Kenzie Push Ups.
The quadruped arm and leg raises are great! One thing they had me do in physical therapy to ensure good form was balance a rod on my lower back during the exercise. Unfortunately the U.S. military thinks all the "avoid" exercises are essential to a good pt session. I've had chronic lower back pain over the years because of working a desk job combined with these problematic exercises. My military-medicine physical therapist recommended everything you did, including to avoid the problematic exercises. I don't know why there is a disconnect between the medical professionals and the rest of the military.
This is one of the reasons why I never joined military. After multiple people described to me what PT looks like, I came to realize, that it's basically "How To Have Pain In Every Joint Possible 101"
Look up starting strength. You'll be surprised on how well lifting weights, with proper technique, will deal with back pain. They even have a podcast were they talk about how to deal with back pain
THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING! Too many "professional therapists/trainers/instructors on RUclips show these and other exercises incorrectly and don't clarify the correct muscle engagements and body positioning. Thank you again.

I sprained my lower back today. It is the third time in this year. I watched your video and realize that I do all the don't exercises. Thank you for your video. After my lower back is recovered, I will follow all recommended exercises.
Amazing content, I love that you showed so clearly the line of the spine going from red to green. Im sure its not easy to make that, and took quite some time in the video editor. Thank you!

actually most of the moves on this video come from yoga, but you can also consider yoga as a calisthenics moves as you use your own body with no external objects
They are often great exercises, but not for the lower back. Barbell and weighted exercises like squats and deadlifts would train the lower back easier and more efficient. And train the person to move properly.
@Blessed Vocals I studied physiotherapy and been a personal trainer for a few people. Also fixed my own back with squats and deadlifts. And Mark Rippetoe also fixed people's back pain with squats and deadlifts. You should listen to his podcast episode about back pain, if you're interested And the deadlift is only dangerous for those who does it incorrectly, or those who tries to lift at an elite level.
Thanks for all! I want also remember to people that the best soulution for chronic back pain can be also simpy walking. Expecially if we are sedentary, walking and movement in general can be safe and useful. For example: every time you end some game on warzone walk 1-2 minutes
Lifting weights would even be better, if you get a good pt that can teach you good technique on squats and deadlifts. But it's easy to separate the bad coaches from good ones if you know the basics of squats and deadlifts. Just look up starting strength, and learn the basics there. Then use that when looking for a personal trainer.
Does anybody out there remember what it felt like as a kid receiving a still wrapped-up present ? Well - that is what I felt like today..... Thankyou. For all of your videos.👍👍
This is a really good video, thank you. For me I feel it would be perfect if you would do all 5 of exercises 1-2 times each in a row at the end of the video 😊
I just did these 5 exercises as a workout today. Thank you for making this video! The quadruped exercise was the hardest for me. I really felt my lower back during the hamstring bridge. Interesting that the bridge hits the lower back. Also, I did the last exercise and realized that you have to focus more on breathing when your legs are that close to your chest and stomach!
Thank you so much! I've evidently been doing leg lifts wrong for 3 months. I don't have a lot of strength, so I was arching my lower back and didn't know it mattered. THANKS!
great video, very explicit in "what to do" and "what not". I allways asked myself if i might be missunderstanding some exercises, but with videos like this, there is no place for missunderstanding.
Love this guy's acting! I really felt that beer crate haha. Solid video. I'm a diploma qualified Pilates teacher and though i know all these exercises, it's helpful to hear intelligent thought and insight from time to time. Helps motivate me to do the things I know I should be doing haha.

Syb I’m On The Beginner Level Now, But It’s Challenging. And I Had Experience Doing Pushup’s Squats Etc. But This Is Another Level. Definitely Worth The Money I invested. I Already See My Muscles Back To Gaining Their Size After Just Three Weeks Of Training
The best thing I liked abt in the video is that the person is honest!! It tells us that leg raises and sit ups can be very punishing to the spine rather than being helpful to abs. I was wondering why leg raises n sit ups wud pain my back so hard, now I hv the answer. Not that they aren't good, they must be but not for me. I hv a back problem, others dont!
youtube algorithm for related videos is amazing but ads for youtube and facebook suck, it thinks i love a topic coz i typed it into the search bar once
This is the best workout for relieving some of the tension of my lower back pain. The other one is being always cognitzant of my posture and try to correct for anterior pelvic tilt every time I notice it. I've gone from hip flexor stretching to completely ditching squats and deadlifts. This is the only thing that helped me.
Just an FYI, how you lift things is extremely important. The demonstration he gives in the beginning of the video is conducive to back problems. When lifting things that are heavy, like a bag of concrete mix you do not lift with your back. You get into a squatting position, grab what you are going to lift bringing yourself so it is as close to center mass as you can manage, straighten your back and squeeze your buttcheeks and then lift with your legs. Anyone who works at jobs where you repeatedly lift will have bad backs if they lift like he did. No matter how strong. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure.
I think he shouldn’t limit himself. There might be a stunt double role that allows him to play multiple professions like doctor, fireman, plumber and even astronaut:
Really excellent! I just injured my back from doing V-Ups for abs and I've been seeking a replacement exercise. You explained the hollow body crunch so well and I'll try it once my injury heals. Thank you!
I have been practicing the one-handed handstand for 1 year. However, I feel that my lower back is my weak point. But I keep working on it with these exercises as well. The more I pay attention to the warm-up, the better the practice goes. (with Google translate :D)
Very informative video, I’ve been doing these exercises for two weeks now and I feel WAYYY BETTER. Has really helped with deadlift and squat. Thank you so much
Great video! I'm currently struggling with lower back pain. I believe it was brought on from overuse from work and exercising. I've been doing most of these exercises before this pain as a warmup before exercising. Now, due to the pain I been doing them 2-3x per day and it's been helping a great deal. My question is: What is the progression with these exercises? If necessary, how can you make them more challenging to bulletproof your lower back so you have no lower back pain ever again?! ( probably not possible, safer to say 'minimize'..LoL!! )
So: 1 cat/camel 2 dog-bird 3 child to cobra 4 Glute bridge With these you have everything you mentioned (except your arms are up instead of down when doing the on the knees hug pose)

Look up starting strength. You'll be surprised on how well lifting weights, with proper technique, will deal with back pain.
They even have a podcast were they talk about how to deal with back pain

Congratulations on a smooth, crisp, concisely-presented video Alex!
The clarity and calmness in your voice is motivational. Thank you so much.
you guys deserve way more views !!! You have BY FAR the best fitness channel on youtube !
THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING! Too many "professional therapists/trainers/instructors on RUclips show these and other exercises incorrectly and don't clarify the correct muscle engagements and body positioning. Thank you again.
I have lower back pain and disc bulge since 5 years and I've done a lot of research on it too. I can assure you that in this video everything is so well put and described. Must perform these exercises and stretches for your lower back pain will vanish. Kudos! 👍
Most disc bulges heal dude, takes a few years but they do.
I also have disc bulge problem. Will it cureable permanently any1 solve my depression....
@@WozWozErehave you ever had a disk injury? It’s the worse
Every individual mostly faces lower back pain . The workouts for getting rid of lower back pain are really nicely explained and performed by Alex. Thanks for everything..!!!
Lower back exercises are so underestimated. Its great for health and also improves your other Calisthenics moves.
How about sets, reps and # of times/week to perform these? Thanks Alex. Great content!
He looks like a 3D rendering.
huh, he kinda does.
I am very confused 😕
Yes!!! Because his movements are so smooth.
I forgot he was a real person when he started doing the exercises
The perfect man
Perfect video, best one i got so far. The amount of research and detail you put into this is what makes it stand out! I never saw someone showing wrong exercises in comparison to the right ones which makes me feel really safe to follow those exercises :)
Watching this while laying in bed because I was stupid and strained my back. Thanks for the info. :)
Don't feel bad. I'm watching for the same reason. We live and learn.
Same
I sprained my lower back today. It is the third time in this year. I watched your video and realize that I do all the don't exercises. Thank you for your video. After my lower back is recovered, I will follow all recommended exercises.
Man ... your content is the best and most complete on whole RUclips.
Good job gentlemen 👍🏻👍🏻
I love that each exercise ish posted separately so I can repeat each one until I have fully learned and executed the proper form. 😊
This guy looks like a CG character. He's super fit 💪🏾🔥
My lower back pain is immediately gone after doing those 5 exercises! Thank you so much!!!
How long did it take?
Amazing content, I love that you showed so clearly the line of the spine going from red to green. Im sure its not easy to make that, and took quite some time in the video editor. Thank you!
I’d had MVA and injured my L4/L5 resulted Surgery Anterior XLIF last May, now my back progressively got worst and I’d been getting lower back pain, Xrays revealed L5/S1 hardly no cushion and I’ll incorporate these in my lower back exercises- thank you!
Calisthenics movement are crazy
actually most of the moves on this video come from yoga, but you can also consider yoga as a calisthenics moves as you use your own body with no external objects
@@1998jroy which moves
@@undeniabletruth-HIT mainly 1 and 4 but I think that 3 and 5 as well I am not an expert but I think they are used in yoga as well
They are often great exercises, but not for the lower back.
You should listen to his podcast episode about back pain, if you're interested
And the deadlift is only dangerous for those who does it incorrectly, or those who tries to lift at an elite level.
You guys have helped me stay somewhat fit as I've transitioned to a desk job, but this weekend I overdid it on yard work. Thanks for the videos
For effective workout, wear blue shorts!
And shave off your head
@@mhrsolanki2020 it would be much safer to just shave the hair off your head... 😁

One Punch Man.
Shiiii, I literally just thought that and your comment appeared, ha ha.
Excelentes exercícios, testos todos e digo: os melhores.
Parabéns pela iniciativa.
Since I have started following Saitama's workout tips, honestly I am feeling much healthier and in better shape.
I needed this ... Thank you! Working from home has been murder on my back!
THANKS!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I thank him from the bottom of my back :P
great video, very explicit in "what to do" and "what not".
Thank you so much. I am into callisthenics and yoga for a long time, but recently I realized I developed some problems with my back, so your video is very helpful for me
EXACTLY what i need.

I like how youtube algoritm works, im turning 30 now and this video appear to my recomendation 👏
youtube algorithm for related videos is amazing but ads for youtube and facebook suck, it thinks i love a topic coz i typed it into the search bar once
How many of these should I do? How often? How long do you keep the stretch for?
As a beginner, I'm not sure how to implement these properly :/
Clear and concise. THANK YOU.
BEST most EFFICIENT (concerning safety4the back) exercises-video I've seen so far! Thank you! GBY
Can't get over how this can pass as high quality CGI.

Thank You so much for sharing!
Even his imperfect form is perfect
Was having lower back pain. Doing the exercises you showed and the stretches seem to be helping as well. Thank you Alex. Blessings to you!

He will be taken without any audition. Just show his video to the director. Definitely "YES, YOU'RE IN."
I think he shouldn’t limit himself. There might be a stunt double role that allows him to play multiple professions like doctor, fireman, plumber and even astronaut:
This guy...All looks so easy...flexible and strong goals 💜
Really excellent! I just injured my back from doing V-Ups for abs and I've been seeking a replacement exercise. You explained the hollow body crunch so well and I'll try it once my injury heals. Thank you!

Very informative video, I’ve been doing these exercises for two weeks now and I feel WAYYY BETTER. Has really helped with deadlift and squat. Thank you so much
@qazq oaoo I usually do 3 sets of each exercise for 15 reps
Not even lying I was thinking that today and the video comes!
( probably not possible, safer to say 'minimize'..LoL!! )
Awesome. Just started developing back pain in the early morning when I get out of bed. These are good to do before my workout. Thank you.
So:
1 cat/camel
2 dog-bird
3 child to cobra
4 Glute bridge
With these you have everything you mentioned (except your arms are up instead of down when doing the on the knees hug pose)
I have never seen an animated person resemble a real human this much
Very well done!!! I’ve watched so many of these and you have mastered how to and how not to do exercises perfectly!! 👏
