    Wow, thank you for the explanation! I been told by my chiropractor that I have pre degenerating disk on my lower back. He said it was due to my spine being misaligned, been spending soo much money that I don't have to get realined every week. I went home and looked up what my diagnosis was and freaked out. Thinking I would be disabled soon, or that I might need surgery when my disk depletes. I've watched your recent video today as well about herniated disks, definitely calmed my anxiety by a lot. I am 35, active woman, and not yet ready to be in a walker. Thanks Dr Davis, made my day way better!

      That's what I'm here for! First rule of back pain is: "Don't Panic." You're young, sounds like you've got a good foundation of fitness, usually in these cases we just need to look at your life holistically (exercise, nutrition, stress, sleep...) and put together a solid plan. Let me know if I can help!

    Hi doc, I hope you'll notice.
    I got injured my hand wherein I severely hit the thenar eminence part of my hand, I think I overstretch my muscle that make my hand to become like this 🤌 and I forcely open my hand. It was really severe pain especially on the spot that got hit.
    It was really painful i got bruise and I also experience i can't move my hand before
    Til now I'm suffering pain on my palm and on the part that got hit and there's discomfort on stretching fingers. Sometimes it hurts on dorsal when I stretch my fingers. Stiffness on metacarpal.
    But not as severe as before
    I'm diagnosed with ligamentous laxity.
    I'm doing hand grip exercise and I really don't know if it is okay to over exercise it
    I hope you'll notice what treatment could help to easily heal my injury?
    Do xray show misalignment?
    I really don't know if it misalign my bone
    I can feel that my bone is rubbing together and I can inside in my hand organ movement while I'm rotating my hand
    I always do hand stretch because of discomfort

    Could it be that the joint is stuck in a certain position that the chiropractor describes as being left this or rotation that, ie wrong place within its range because its restricted or stuck, and the adjustment restores the full range of motion, not actually moves it from one static position to another static position ? That's my understanding of it, I think you may be missing representing what most chiropractors claim to do , I'm not a chiropractor by the way, but I do understand the mechanics of joints

    • @ShapeshiftWellness
      @ShapeshiftWellness  Год назад

      I'm a chiropractor. I'm perfectly representing what many chiropractors claim. That said, the old model was the "bone out of place" theory which is what I'm debunking here. Most new chiropractors believe that they "fix restrictions of motion" in other words they take joints that don't move enough and help them move better. Research does show temporary improvements in range of motion after adjustments.

    • @benohara284
      @benohara284 Год назад

      @ShapeshiftWellness agreed, I always explain to my patients exactly that, nothing out of place, adjustments get restrictions moving again, I've always explained it like that, I also think there is a lot more happening than the research shows, it works for me, especially with rib restrictions etc, I'm an osteopath, 20 plus years experience and still learning , but we have to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water

    If joints can't be mis aligned, is it the same for anterior pelvis, forward head position, rounded shoulders etc? If a person can't be out if alignment, is there then no such thing as bad posture?

    • @ShapeshiftWellness
      @ShapeshiftWellness  Год назад +1

      Exactly. Static posture doesn't usually matter. What matters is your strength and ability to move through a full range of motion. What matters is that you actually do move your body in all directions every day.

    • @benohara284
      @benohara284 Год назад

      @@ShapeshiftWellness agreed, no such thing as bad posture, people aren't buildings 👍

    • @agentfifteen
      @agentfifteen Год назад

      @@ShapeshiftWellness Static posture does matter as over time bad posture can cause muscle imbalances and weaknesses which can impact your full range of motion. Forward head posture for example can lead to numerous problems such as pain and discomfort due to the increased strain on the muscles and ligaments of the neck and shoulders. This can also contribute to tension headaches. Also poor posture can sometimes lead to nerve impingement or irritation, which can cause radiating pain, numbness, or tingling sensations down the arms. So while it may not impact the joints it can definitely cause other issues.

    • @ShapeshiftWellness
      @ShapeshiftWellness  Год назад +1

      @@agentfifteen Not true. I could easily cite 15+ studies showing no correlation between posture and pain, even long term. Can you cite anything to back up your claims?

    • @agentfifteen
      @agentfifteen Год назад +1

      @@ShapeshiftWellness Based on my own clinical observations, I can affirm that there is a noticeable strain and discomfort within the muscles of the cervical and upper thoracic regions when the head is sustained in a forward-leaning posture for an extended duration.
      Claiming static posture is insignificant would contradict the established consensus highlighting its substantial impact on health and well-being.
      I'm unable to post any links in the comment section as it will get removed by RUclips but simply do a search on Google Scholar using keywords like "static posture and health" and "bad posture" to discover numerous studies underscoring the significance of correct posture or at least the avoidance of poor posture.

      The RUclips comments section isn't conducive to honest discussion. It was turning into an echo chamber of people just burying their heads in the sand and name-calling. I'm not going to tolerate people on my channel resorting to name-calling and profanity when they lack a substantive argument. FYI the entire point of that video was simply to say that extreme diets are unnecessary for most people, and that in most cases both plant food and animal foods can be good or bad, depending on sourcing and processing.
