Thank you for having your boys clean their own rooms. I have watched too many Mom's on YT and they will clean behind their children and will even put away their just washed clothes. We had a laundry basket for each boy and their clean clothes went in there after I washed them. They were responsible for putting away their own clothes and also putting their dirty clothes in the laundry hamper. That was really important because if they needed their favorite shirt washed for school then if it wasn't in the laundry hamper it didn't get washed. They learned very quickly and by the end of high school each would make their own bed without any prompting.
yes! trying to get them to be self sufficient and not a complete load on their future wife lol. we're not perfect yet over here, but trying to teach them to pickup after themselves the best we can!
"Done is better than perfect...someone once said it, I hope they weren't evil.. " laughed out loud on that. Wonderful expression. I loved this video, soothing and real. ❤
I’ve cleaned houses on the side for over 20 years and most shelving is 12-24 inches deep. The way you folded the towels is the way I have always done it. My clients were always so amazed how much I could fit by folding their items differently. Great video!
Hi Mai, I have been watching your videos for a few months now. I started when I stumbled upon your how to create a baby registry videos for when I was pregnant and found your relaxed, visual approach really helpful and easy!!! Now my baby boy is 4 months old, I am back to work and dealing with some postpartum issues with the new balance of things. I just want you to know that your videos help so so much! Your upbeat energy and willingness to show the real life senerio is refreshing and gives me motivation to know that things are going to be ok and I don't need to put so much pressure on myself to be somone else's idea of perfect.
so glad you find my videos helpful! always try to keep it 💯I know exactly what you mean. When you see all these picture perfect Instagram worthy households it feels overwhelming cause i know I will NEVER live up to that so its like why even try?? I was never really taught how to "maintain" a household, so I'm just trying to learn and do my best each day :) and you'll get back into the swing of things. I remember my first week or really month being back at work was SO HARD. but it made seeing my babies at pickup the best. You'll get through it mama and feel free to DM me if you ever have any questions on IG
There's a way to fold fitted sheets so they're not too crazy looking. The trick is to grab them by the corners (where the bed corners would go) and fold them from there. I always have to set it down to do the opposite side but it ends up with 'corners' so it doesn't look too wild. And noooo, not all those wild socks!
I can get that part down pat, it's folding it up once all the 4 corners are together. I can't get it straight and flat enough to fold so it looks normal.
I love how you are "real" .. and I agree w/ the sock thing. I only buy all black sock the same style lol makes it easier. As well as helps my son to "help" me put his stuff away
yes!!! I hate having mismatched socks, so I also only have black socks: a set that go below the ankle and a set that are longer for any boots/colder weather. The only colorful socks I won are nice warm ones that I wear during fall/winter when its cold or at home.
@@nataliamaliga Me, too! Exactly the same set up! You know what else I like? They don't have to be bleached to keep them looking fresh, like white socks do!
Nice to see your recent maintenance videos. Not only do you now have the time and intention to keep up, but you can further refine your systems and plan ahead. Getting the Fall clothes together now will save you later.
I really needed to hear that last part! I stress myself out so much to get everything done & then I have half started projects all over the place! Thank you! 🙏
I love your videos! I am a mom of 4 and used to have the house completely out of control. I am now using the fly lady system and it has made a huge difference our house almost never gets completely out of control.
My 2-year-old helps do "chores" too. He puts his clothes in his hamper, throws away his diapers after they're changed and helps pick up any messes he makes.
Yes I fold towels that way!! My husband has learned to not even try to help fold the towels or my laundry because I will refold everything (I wish I wasn't this crazy😅) .. also thank you for all of these videos!! I recently started watching your now that I have a newborn and I'm tied to the couch most of the day feeding her. I miss cleaning and organizing and your videos are just so satisfying to watch 🤩
I love watching you clean and declutter. It is motivating without being overwhelming. Yes... I fold my towels the same way. I replaced my bath towels a few years ago with microfiber bath towels. I love them. They dry faster and take up so much less space.
i fold my towels like that too! looks organized and clean :) My mom is the ultimate homemaker and i learned SO MUCH from her. Glad to see that it's legit and other people fold thier towels the same way I was taught!
My husband worked at JCPennys when he was younger and taught me to fold our towels the same way cause he HATED the way I folded them before haha!! Love your videos!! ❤❤
My mom folded towels the same way and I have too all my life. I find they fit perfectly on any shelf that way. I have never know anyone else that did it... So happy to see I am not the only one...LOL
🙋🏻♀️I used to fold towels that way….. after working in a spa as a therapist for 15 years I roll mine. Makes me feel fancy 🤣🤪. I’m with you on the white socks standard!!
that's how I fold towels too! I showed a friend when I helped her move in to her new place. They took up so much less room than the way she had been folding them.
🙋♀️ I totally fold my towels the "JC Penney" way! My mom taught me. Neither of us have ever worked at JC Penney, nor do we know anyone who has! I find humor in that.
So I’ve been decluttering and reorganizing my home as well, but I can’t make myself get rid of some of the baby things. Like the baby blankets. The fact that you are just able to get rid of them - I wish I could. I just cry and put them back in the closet and cling to the memories 😭😭😭 Also, I only buy my three kids white socks and their STILL the bane of my existence because all my kiddos are different sizes and I hate sorting them. I actually JUST bought each of my kids their own mesh laundry bag and they put their own dirty socks in their own bag so that it’s not as terrible. So far, it’s been working. We’ll see how long it lasts 🥴
I use fabric bins for sheet sets. I’ll fold them but because I’m OCD and want them folded like my mom use to…and they’re not I don’t have to look at them. Also I’m weird about socks too. I have a sock bag for strays!!! 🙃
🤚🏼 I fold my towels that way. They look & fit better in our cabinets, I hate when my husband folds them in more of a square shape🤣 I have to refold them

Yes, that’s how I fold my towels. I’m picky. No towel ends showing.

Black sock club here, too!

Sock organization is a thing for me too! All white or all black socks. No one has time for that. 🥴
Grey sock club here!
I fold my towels the same. I used to work in a dept store in the linens dept too
That’s how I fold our towels too. I still have a towel from our first house. It’s around 17 years old.
Nice to see your recent maintenance videos. Not only do you now have the time and intention to keep up, but you can further refine your systems and plan ahead. Getting the Fall clothes together now will save you later.
I love how ‘get real’ you are-i feel like it makes some of these tasks that seem impossible look achievable so thank you for that!
Yowzers...you did a super duper job!! I love your transparency. Keep on going!!! You got this!!
When you said “yonder” you confirmed you’re my people. 😊

My Japanese sister in law folds her towels like that and I love it so much I've started folding them like that too!
Most of us in Texas refer to the sheets and towels as the “linens” regardless of fiber content!
Yes I fold towels that way!! My husband has learned to not even try to help fold the towels or my laundry because I will refold everything (I wish I wasn't this crazy😅) .. also thank you for all of these videos!! Yess been needing this motivation!
My mum showed me how to fold towels like that when I was a teenager and I found it so annoying .. Now I love how clean and tidy it looks!!

Me too x
Same towel folding. I was a hotel housekeeper as a teen and during college summers and this is the way we folded. I can't break the habit now.
I can't remember if we were taught a specific way to fold towels, but I fold them the way you just did. Looks nice.

I worked @ jcp seasonally in the home department. I still fold towels the jcpenney way even though it's been about 5 years.
I 100% fold my towels that way - I too worked for a home store 😄 the method hasn't left me for about 15 years now
I use fabric bins for sheet sets. I’ll fold them but because I’m OCD and want them folded like my mom use to…and they’re not I don’t have to look at them.
