Nice review, as you alluded to the price point makes this less of a 'this or that' comparison, because if money isn't the issue the IWC wins. It's a great all rounder.
I have the Hamilton, and for the price point (I paid around $500) it's an amazing watch. But things like the lack of AR coating & screw down crown are very disappointing - especially the lack of AR, because when you catch it in the correct lighting, with no reflection the dial is gorgeous.

Thank you! Yes, that was one annoying thing for me: the glass reflects the sun too much. With the recent price increase, they could add the inner AR coating.

I have the Hamilton in a 38mm case. At 46.5mm, the lug to lug is still pushing the outer envelope for my 6.25" wrist. The accuracy fluctuates within -4 to +4 seconds per day, depending on how wound up it is. I can't afford an IWC (or, even a new Khaki Auto since the prices were increased), but this is my favorite watch.

Owned both, the Hamilton is an excellent watch for the price. The powermatic kept great time too. But the IWC is a different league - finishing, execution, movement, not to mention special features like blow out prevention, screw down crown, anti reflection treatment, anti magnetic (soft iron cage), etc.

I think the Spitfire would be a better comparison, and more in-line with price. What a fun video, thanks for the effort.

Great comparison!! I own the same Hamilton for a couple of years now and it doesn’t get wrist time any more. IMHO the IWC is way overpriced. Thank you for the review as always. Cheers!

I think that IWC charge more or less fair price for the Mark XX - considering the specs, the brand power and competitors prices.

Owned both, the Hamilton is great for less than £500 but I feel the dial is to busy. The iwc is perfect, if you can afford it.

Agree. Hamilton Khaki in its price range is great. IWC is the perfect pilot/field watch but pricey.

Both are great looking watches. However, there is a significant difference in price. $5,000 vs. $1,000.00.

Definitely. But Hamilton delivers a lot of value in its price range

Both very good watches. But a bit too dressy and underspec’d for my preferences. It would be nice if they were a little toolier in appearance and function.
