The more you like yourself the less you care what anyone else is doing :))

I have a some old friends (I no longer see other than Facebook due to moving away), and they were always too cool for me. They had the right bodies, clothes, attitudes and lifestyles. They were friends, but they did look down on me in certain regards and didn't try to hide it. But its funny how life turns out. They are still very cool, but I would wager Im the most content. There is nothing in my life I would change nor any significant goals left to achieve (other than aging well). I only want the best for them, and I have a lot of gratitude, but their friendship was a source of anxiety more than comradery and acceptance. P.S, I just stumbled upon you this morning. As a 52 year old I really like your content :D

Such good advice Laura! Wish you were around 30 plus years ago when I felt so judged and ostracized from their super special group 🤮🤣🤮. Funny thing is I and my family are doing better than they are now.

I can say as a mom of 2 daughters now grown I never really felt like I fit in. My husband worked full time and I was a stay home mom. I started cleaning homes after our girls were in school all day. Then I would be done cleaning and be there to pick them up from parent pick up. I was not the mom who volunteered a lot . I did some at our girls school but not a lot. Our girls were not in a bunch of sports either. I have found as I have gotten older and now am a stay home wife that in this world that seems to be frowned upon. So many women are pursuing their careers etc or volunteering here and there and everywhere but I do not like to be so busy . I like to take care of my home and be able to be ready to take a trip if my husband wants to get away and take vacation . If I worked outside the home too it would be hard for us to get the time off together. So making friends is hard because my life is not as busy as other women's lives. So they have to prioritize spending time with me. Many times that does not happen. So I am learning sometimes in life we have to be happy with just being with ourselves. My husband is one of my best friends. Our daughters they are busy in their lives so we see them here and there. Relationships are hard and people are hard to figure out. Or should I say other women.

thanks for commenting and sharing. There are many women who work in the home. In my town there are social groups that meet during the day. Id start with your city/towns website If there is a Rec center or a community center/YMCA they often have lists of programs. Taking a class for fun or checking out the library programs is a good place too. In our town there is a 'walking meet up' I know a mom that started one because she needed to get out of the house and talk to grownups:) Ive never been able to join a garden group because my work schedule didnt allow. I bet there are some super women out there feeling just like you! Good Luck.

"Comparison is the thief of joy". I love this quote. It was so interesting what you said about people putting pressure on themselves to hide other things. They just keep on striving to keep those insecurities at bay.

It’s certainly good to keep it all in perspective.
