- The first generation Cadillac CTS-V debuted back in 2004 and came with an engine out of a C5 generation Corvette. This CTS-V flew under the radar for a few years until the release of the second generation car back in 2009. This model turned the automotive world on its side thanks to a fire-breathing supercharged V-8 motor that made 556 horsepower and set a factory production sedan lap record at the Nürburgring ring. Then in 2011 we got CTS-V coupe and wagon models. The price on the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V coupe is $63,600.

Cadillac does a great job of distinguishing their V-Series cars and the CTS-V has a handful of cues that tell the eagle-eyed enthusiast this car means business. First thing you notice is the shiny mesh, aggressive lower front fascia, massive black rims, and red Brembo brake calipers. The coupe itself is a cool looking car with the angular shape and metallic paint job. Out back the CTS-V sports an integrated rear wing and a trick center mount exhaust.
Under the hood is where the magic happens. The 2014 Cadillac CTS-V is powered by an LSA engine taken from a Corvette ZR-1. This Supercharged 6.2 Liter V-8 makes a whopping 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent through a 6-speed transmission (auto or manual) to the rear wheels. This luxury coupe looks good, sounds good, feels good, and most importantly goes like a bat out of hell. The interior is very driver focused. The model tested here is outfitted with the $3400 Recaro performance seating package. An Alcantara treatment is given to the steering wheel and shift knob.
The real thrill of any V-Series Cadillac is driving it. The CTS-V offers you a great driving position with an unobstructed view of the road. More importantly though is the great engine and gearbox sending that power to the rear wheels which means fun. The ride is perfect thanks to the Magnetic-Controlled shocks that are usually found on high priced exotics. Now this may be the swan song for the Cadillac CTS-V coupe edition and if so we will always smile about how it lived.

Such a timeless car. Im definitely buying one of these for my dad when I get the money
These are stunning, one of the best looking cars on the road
8 years later and i still agree, second gen CTS-Vs have a special place in my heart, especially the wagon 🙃
Agreed I want one extremely badly
For anyone who says these cars are unreliable and not a daily driver, you probably don’t own one. I’ve had mine since 2013 and have over 100,000 miles on it. It’s 2019 and I’ve only replaced the stock battery and alternator. And common sense fluids.
Be a man and buy a v. You’ll thank yourself later when you paid off a car that turns heads still in 2019.
haha looking in the rear view after the burnout making sure you don't get in trouble! I got one of these LOVE IT!
This is the 2014, the coupe body style was not changed. Just picked up my mothers new 2014 ATS last week at the dealer, they have the brochures there for the 2014 V coupe. Proof that this is the 2014!
Great video! Really make me excited to get one
Awesome review! Winks! :)
very nice car
Nice smoke show at the end
Just got one. Most fun.
Before you smoke tires, check the replacement value of those tires against your current wages. Then check bearings and suspension component costs. Before you smoke...
Excellent video ( could've done with more rolling footage of the car)! Uhm, those blue seats are THE SICKNESS! Think outside the box. When every other brand zigs with red, Cadillac zags with saffron and blue!
I got the same one but with yellow calipers with the V stitching in the seats
0:51...Oh ya most tires are blacked out. LOL
This is actually the black diamond model, awesome
This is my dream car. I cant believe its going away. Hope they will redesign better coupes.
i hardly ever see one of these but when i do it's awesome! looks so different and aggressive in person. hopefully they do a coupe version of the new CTS.
The design is waaaay better than 2016 cts-v!!
+mohamed mounes Of course it is, just like the C6 Z06 is better than the C7 Z06
@@panamera53 exactly
Uh... No
I agree. The 2nd gen is by far my favorite body style.
i want this car
sweet burnout at the end!
I hear the CTS V is not going away but by 2016 there will be only one model, maybe a coupe, maybe a sedan, no wagon. The good news is it will probably be over 600 HP. The bad news is there will only be one transmission, the 8 speed automatic.
Americas competing model. Fucking sexy for an American car
Ray Romano???
Blacked out tires? Wow I have never seen black tire..
Brandon Dyke 🤣
I have a 2014 Cts coupe but alas,no V.I still love the style power from a 3.6 v6.When this one is paid off I'll trade it for a 6 spd v model.
The 3.6 has a better looking frontend, not a fan of the V's frontend because it looks cheap to me...
2014 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Test Drive & High-Performance Luxury Car Video Review
like To get one Vsport for m'y garage collection ...
Before that burnout he was starring for cops ahaha!
It costs about $2600 to put tires all the way around this car and you can't rotate the rear ones to the front like my 03 F-150. I'll be keeping it in the garage and checking the weather report so I don't get caught in the rain. Burnouts make good videos but by the time I could get one I just got old.
Great Job Cadillac
The coupes are more expensive than the sedans. The sedans are easier to find than the couple. I still want the coupe. Ready to trade my 300 srt8 in for one.
It's amazing how you slam the ELR yet rave about the CTS- V coupe.
Bernard Odom ELR trash
Just test drove 2012 today and to me it didn't feel like 556hp. Lexus IS-F was more fun to drive.
I know this comment is VERY LATE...LOL but I have a 13. If you dont turn the traction control off it does make it feel much slower. However, it does get crazy and dangerous when off. Fyi it has 3 levels of off.
It's true because people on other videos seem to comment about the reviewers hair
the best part of this whole video is at 5:28 mark...right in front of a Ford Mustang
Stang was like wow he didn't wreck😂😂
The rear wheels???
The Cadillac Cien is a two-door Rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout high performance sports coupé concept car created by Cadillac and unveiled at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show to celebrate Cadillac's 100th anniversary ("cien" is Spanish for one hundred =)
This video should have ended with a show of the performance and a better display of rear tire burning. It was a very well put together video, just lacked that excitement of what the car is truly capable of.
+A Slo The "host" of this video comes across as someone that doesn't know jack about cars, much less anything else.
there is a new coupe to be annouced well they actually already shown the eldorado a new spin on the old school 2016
if this shares the same platform as the maro, it may well be the answer to why they’re gone or maybe gone and too, i read some years back the maro would be or they wanted it to be a smaller and lighter car. something is telling they may be back, it’s no way gm is gonna ford or dodge or any other in the coupe market gonna let them have w/ nothing to compete with.
It goes good....where's saabkyle when you need him
Isnt this going to be redesigned?
Haha I like the hair joke
Do you mean the "Ciel"?
This car is soo edgy love this thing
It’s gonna be an old car by the time I get around to buying one but I’m going to buy one.
no quad coupe? no hardtop?
I thought the CTS-V Coupe had CUE and also a digital dash??? some conflict with Cadillac's website?? I actually like the dash and gauges in this video over the digital ones- then I am old fashion lol!
The car with CUE and digital dash is the CTS-Vsport which is a V6 pushing 420HP.
Dig it
This 2013!!
Nope.
The video is in 2013, the car model is 2014. They make the model and sell them before their actual time. You can find 2015 cars this summer
No it is not going away. When Cadillac only has to sell 3 Vs to equal out cost of production. So anything over 3 cars sold is all Profit for Cadillac. I learned this from Matt Farah in another video.
Michelle Unis look again its 2017 cadillac actually decided to remove the wagon and coupe for ever.
@@bennypacheco9064 right
This is a 2014 Cadillac CTS V COUPE, obviously not the sedan. It is a carryover. Read people!
I have that same shirt... o_o
I stopped at Pearl Jam Radio...
Gramps has this all "luxed out" with a chip to add 40 hp. He has the sedan though
What paint is that "black raven" or "black diamond tricoat"
lol @ the hair comment, its called being trendy
I'm lactose intolerant
nice
How to hill-starting with this car? Dont see any hand-brake.
Current-day Cadillacs with manual transmissions have something called "hill hold." If you're in gear with the clutch in and your foot on the brake, you have about 3-4 seconds to let the clutch out and start moving (after you remove your foot from the brake). There is a parking brake, however, it is more or less a switch located right behind the gear shifter
If you need a handbrake, or the "hill hold," on a hill, you're an awful driver, and have no business driving a manual transmission car. -_-
jreyman It comes with the car...
I didn't know they were making the "real" V for 2014 and it looks just like the previous years, and that's a good thing. The V Sport turbo is not a car I would want. I love my V sedan a
Get the Sedan. Great Car!
Where does the power go? Watched this 3 times and I still don't know where the power goes. lol
manuel?
MrMisanthrope1 manual**
565hp
556
Did this guy just do a burnout on a regular road with cars passing by and shit? :/
the most impressive Cadillac i've seen was the "Cien" a pity they didnt develop on that...
why would you mention fuel economy with this car lol
Its a fuckin stock car!!! I love it
That gas mileage
vun....
i believe this is a 2013 model
Actually the 2014 CTS-V model has yet to receive the exterior redesign. Check the Cadillac Website!!!!!
k, thnx
@@CoolModifiedCars what is the difference in the coupe years ??
a manual gearbox is so hard to find in this car
TurmyHD
A stick shift manual trans in a Caddy ? Unbelievable.
Muncie or Borg-Warner ?
Should come with a "buyer beware." I've spoken with a few shops, a repo/tow guy, and a quality manager and they've all told me to not buy a Cadillac product. Most spend serious repair time in the shop or the side of the road waiting for a tow. If you have the money to spend on this, spend it on it's competitors and you'll enjoy it for years versus 2 years in this.
rdaffon23 lmao what a dumbass
Spoken like somebody who drives a sun fire gt
Still have my v since 2016 but it’s a 2013 and it’s fine lol..... it’s 2019 only replaced my stock alternator and battery
My next car will be this or a 2014 mustang gt. Which y’all prefer?
Mustangs are a dime a dozen....
I have a v8
Cts v is my dream car

Massive blacked out tires 🤔
Those wernt brembos
Question: Why does a luxury car need to be as fast as a sports car? Are rich ppl in that big of a hurry to get to the opera or their private yacht? I think it's stupid & damn near sacrilegious that GM put a Corvette engine in that thing.
+KoolCat ! If you've actually driven the car you would too realize that the engine is perfect for the car. This is not a rich persons car, it's extremely affordable, he's naming new prices. I bought mine at around $43,000 and I'm the second owner of this car with only 9,400 miles on it.
+KoolCat ! If you own a private jet or yacht, you probably drive a much more expensive automobile (which will be, in most cases, much faster than this vehicle).
+KoolCat ! Seriously? Why does BMW, Audi, Maserati, Mercedes Benz, Bentley, Aston Martin, put engines over 500 HP in their cars? I think you are a cretin. Please keep your myopic comments to yourself.
So many misinformed people on you tube don't understand why you comment if you don't have a clue wtf your talking about. Oh because you don't have a clue.
My car needs red interior
the exhaust is way too quiet
I agree my dad has this same car and he got a new exhaust system cuz it was to quiet
thats a good thing, its a luxury car, cadillac. u want loud? get a corvette
***** well that depends on the buyer because yes it is a luxury car but it is also performance. like amg or M knows how the 2 intersect and they make their performance cars loud
Garrett Hall There's always aftermarket exhaust. whereas if the stock car is loud, u cant make it quieter.
It's a refined car, it is not supposed to sound like a monster car.
Looks like a 2013
you bite your tongue!
This is in fact a 2014 model
To much talking not enough sound and view of the car.
Too expensive for me
Great car ,, but i laugh my ass off when i see it cost like the c63 and the m3 haha
You are speaking faster than you.
Loving it till I heard Pearl Jam Radio... Not a big Eddie Veeter Fan.. Looking like a homeless Michael Bolton that's always paying homage the tropical Seattle climate by wearing flannel shirts 365 days a year as he wanders the streets mumbling the name Jeremy... I think he might be looking for Justin's Dad
I cannot race is grandpa car lol
Uhm can you stop talking and hammer the dam thing
Dude low key Hella trashed this car... its supposed to stand out.. thats why people buy luxury
.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Cadillac design has gotten pretty horrifying. It couldn't be much more boxy, yet most car companies left behind boxy in the 90's. Also, an alcontera steering wheel is a bad idea, it wears out far too fast. Ask anyone who owns one.
Lame review . Thank you Bob Lutz !
Lame review
I saw one if these the other day on the road. The rear looks like the rear end of a truck. There is no styling here.
There's NOTHING awesome about station wagons, doesn't matter how much power you give it, it's still an extremely ugly stupid vehicle.
