  • The first generation Cadillac CTS-V debuted back in 2004 and came with an engine out of a C5 generation Corvette. This CTS-V flew under the radar for a few years until the release of the second generation car back in 2009. This model turned the automotive world on its side thanks to a fire-breathing supercharged V-8 motor that made 556 horsepower and set a factory production sedan lap record at the Nürburgring ring. Then in 2011 we got CTS-V coupe and wagon models. The price on the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V coupe is $63,600.
    Read More About the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V
    www.autobytel.com/cadillac/cts...
    Cadillac does a great job of distinguishing their V-Series cars and the CTS-V has a handful of cues that tell the eagle-eyed enthusiast this car means business. First thing you notice is the shiny mesh, aggressive lower front fascia, massive black rims, and red Brembo brake calipers. The coupe itself is a cool looking car with the angular shape and metallic paint job. Out back the CTS-V sports an integrated rear wing and a trick center mount exhaust.
    Under the hood is where the magic happens. The 2014 Cadillac CTS-V is powered by an LSA engine taken from a Corvette ZR-1. This Supercharged 6.2 Liter V-8 makes a whopping 556 horsepower and 551 lb-ft of torque. The power is sent through a 6-speed transmission (auto or manual) to the rear wheels. This luxury coupe looks good, sounds good, feels good, and most importantly goes like a bat out of hell. The interior is very driver focused. The model tested here is outfitted with the $3400 Recaro performance seating package. An Alcantara treatment is given to the steering wheel and shift knob.
    The real thrill of any V-Series Cadillac is driving it. The CTS-V offers you a great driving position with an unobstructed view of the road. More importantly though is the great engine and gearbox sending that power to the rear wheels which means fun. The ride is perfect thanks to the Magnetic-Controlled shocks that are usually found on high priced exotics. Now this may be the swan song for the Cadillac CTS-V coupe edition and if so we will always smile about how it lived.

    For anyone who says these cars are unreliable and not a daily driver, you probably don’t own one. I’ve had mine since 2013 and have over 100,000 miles on it. It’s 2019 and I’ve only replaced the stock battery and alternator. And common sense fluids.
    Be a man and buy a v. You’ll thank yourself later when you paid off a car that turns heads still in 2019.

I'll be keeping it in the garage and checking the weather report so I don't get caught in the rain. Burnouts make good videos but by the time I could get one I just got old.

    • @iReviews0802
      @iReviews0802 10 лет назад

      Current-day Cadillacs with manual transmissions have something called "hill hold." If you're in gear with the clutch in and your foot on the brake, you have about 3-4 seconds to let the clutch out and start moving (after you remove your foot from the brake). There is a parking brake, however, it is more or less a switch located right behind the gear shifter

    • @jreyman

    Should come with a "buyer beware." I've spoken with a few shops, a repo/tow guy, and a quality manager and they've all told me to not buy a Cadillac product. Most spend serious repair time in the shop or the side of the road waiting for a tow. If you have the money to spend on this, spend it on it's competitors and you'll enjoy it for years versus 2 years in this.

    Cadillac design has gotten pretty horrifying. It couldn't be much more boxy, yet most car companies left behind boxy in the 90's. Also, an alcontera steering wheel is a bad idea, it wears out far too fast. Ask anyone who owns one.

    I saw one if these the other day on the road. The rear looks like the rear end of a truck. There is no styling here.

    There's NOTHING awesome about station wagons, doesn't matter how much power you give it, it's still an extremely ugly stupid vehicle.
