MANUAL 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Review!

- I review this 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe with a manual transmission and muffler delete! With 556 hp from a supercharged 6.2L V8 and a 4.1 sec 0-60 time, this second generation of the CTS-V is still a very impressive performer. Add to that the fact that this was the only generation to ever be offered in this coupe body style (and the wagon body style too), and it really becomes a rare and special car, especially with the manual. What do you think of these CTS-V Coupes?

It’s basically a Corvette in a Tuxedo, I love this car, one of my dream cars!
The XLR was the vette in a tux.
daeladub That’s right, forgot about that car, the CTS-V is more of a Camaro in a tuxedo, so basically a muscle in a tux, yeah! i think the CTS-V at the end of the day, look better than the XLR in my opinion lol.
Im with you on that. The cts v was better in every way. It has aged so well too. If the xlr wasn't so overpriced and more than a vette knock off it might've had a chance.
The CTS and fifth generation Camaro was built on the same Zeta platform. The XLR and Corvette was built on the same platform.
@Average Drew yea man I had a version in my Aurora. Fwd v8 with minor mods, had a lot of fun and caught people off guard but when the cooling problems started it was a wrap.
I own a 2011 white diamond edition coupe. Basically everything that can be done to it is done. Pushing 850 wheel horsepower. Best car I’ve ever owned. Will never sell. Something about a low 9 second Cadillac is hilarious and awesome at the same time.
Not really g.m knows how to build the nice shit (when they put the effort)
A Cadillac coupe with a V8 and stick shift
What’s not to love🇺🇸
the stick shift part. Theyre fun but luxury sadens are suppose to do all the work for you and enjoy gapping people at same time. Id only get stickshift for a vette and camaro.
the stick shift.
I always wanted one of these back in high school. Now I want one even more between the coupe look, the v8 and the Manaul... just perfect.
If I didn't have to drive a truck I'd daily drive one of these.
Ultra rare in manual.
A true legend
Trust me the auto is faster 🔥
@@Norcal-k1f duh
The wagon version of this is a car enthusiasts dream.
It is! I have a friend that owns one, they’re awesome!
Got to pay that wagon tax though.
If I had to get a wagon it would be the v, but I just don't get the whole wagon thing?
Just makes me think of the 70's and 80's wood panel station wagons and nothing performance related
@@dakotalafrance3618 Brutal.
@@kelliq3993 Probably cause it's weird and different. From a performance aspect it makes no sense and just because it has a lot of room doesn't make a rwd 11mpg car practical.
People like it because it's weird and that is okay with me. Looks like a modern hearse to me lol.
12:40….you’re welcome
Thx
A Caddy with a manual transmission is the American dream🇺🇸
One of my all-time favorite cars. Too bad they discontinued this beast a long time ago, or else I would love to see how much more futuristic detail they could’ve added to the design lol
What do you mean, they're still sold?
@@romeodorosz4110 I think he's referring to the coup version
What’s up everybody Cadillac CTS v fans here !
Really enjoy the coupe! Love how elegant yet sporty it is. Loved you smashing that throttle, can tell how much fun she is! Sounded sooo good.
While going back to your roots is going to grow your channel. Way to go Matt I had given up on you but your last few videos have really captured the imagination ! Very good!!
These do look very striking, even today.
You're branching out lately, I've seen you on a lot of videos. Stay awesome
It's all the angles, so Sharp yet still retaining sleakness
I have a 2014 coupe with some basic bolt ons (headers, catback, upper pulley, injectors, intake, tune) and it’s a completely different experience. Absolutely love the car.
How much power? Guessing 580-600whp on a dyno jet.
@@calinator51 560whp on a mustang dyno. 2.5 pulley.
That was a badass car and to be honest still is. Looks good sounds good and drives good. I wish Cadillac would still make a CTS V coupe.
This video reminded me I once really liked the CTS-V coupe when it first came out, and that was way before I even got into cars. The interior looks better than I thought for a 9 year old Cadillac. You should've mentioned how much they currently costs on the used market because I kinda want one now.
If you're okay with an auto trans, they are starting to drop into the high 20s. If you want a manual, most are still in the 30s and some even 40s.
Always liked the side body lines of this, especially the back. Give it the modern Cadillac front and back fascia with updated interior and it's a home run IMO.
“Cool” that’s exactly what I think of when I see this car. It’s just damn COOL👍🏼
And in manual too😍
Your videos are so good man ive been watching you for years, I dont think ive ever watched any other car review videos yours are very genuine and interesting to watch
Going in to stabilitrak competitive mode tightens the steering up quite a bit as well.
Nice. I own a 2011 V coupe as well. It's an automatic but with bolt-ons plus tune it shifts insanely fast. Only thing I don't like about it is the recaro seats but it's fun and has that batmobile aesthetic. :)
How reliable is it? What’s your mileage?
I have a 2011 CTS-V coupe as well. Ive had mine for 3 years and I still love it! Bolt-ons helped mine get over 600hp at the crank. It's the best luxury muscle car for what I wanted, and on the street it can beat most other muscle cars. It also gets A LOT of Looks from people driving or at the gas station. It will be hard to replace one day because it blends so many things well. Only car I'm considering replacing it with is the 2022 Corvette Z06
@@edgarsantos8030 Just hit 80k. It's honestly been pretty reliable minus some small electrical gremlins.
@@neb635 I also love it for the looks but it's also practical at the same time. Don't have to worry about scraping all the time like in my old C5.
Peice of crap car I’ll smoke you easy in my 5.0 Mach 1
the only and last luxury US muscle car ever! Most beautiful recaro ever designed, F-117 exterior style, ZR-1 engine with smoother internals and S/C, magnetic ride, big brembo brakes...
Alex Chris you haven’t seen anything from Germany then.
@@devn3813 I live in Karlsruhe.... crappy unreliable german cars.
@@alexchris9985 got 'em
Midwest Mopars OP said last luxury US muscle car. Read carefully you moron.
@@alexchris9985 Cadillac is one of the most unreliable brands out there. General Motors products fall apart so quickly.
Please bring us another coupe, Cadillac! These are such awesome cars.
Excellent review of an awesome car! Love the edgy design and performance. And love that manual transmission.
"Edgy" Is the perfect word
Cadillac was on point with the styling of the CTS Coupe.
The droning part is one of the best parts of these kind of cars!
I WILL ALWAYS love the droning!
Actually, the car in stock form doesn't drone. The only reason that car droned was because the owner removed the muffler and had straight pipes out the back. Which is totally unnecessary. That car is really, amazingly quiet while snapping your neck.
The coupe is really the perfect 2 door. The size is just right, not a toy, and yet tossable and a just big enough rear seat for an adult on short drives. More than enough space for two people to go on a week or two trip and plenty of power for fun. There is something about the hybrid analog/digital gauge that Imo is preferable to the newer digital displays. It also comes with all of the basic and preferred current amenities. The only downside is the mileage, but the sound and feel of that V8 makes it all worthwhile.
I just bought the base of this. 2011 3.6 cts auto. As is its sucking gas like air. W ca gas prices, i couldnt afford to feed a V. Lol. Maybe one day when money isnt a thing or if i move to state where its $1.5 a gallon... ill upgrade to a V but till then, still loving it. And yeah, people act like its a super car when they see it. Id agree.
CTS V 6 speed wagon is perfection
Cadillac is pretty underrated
They make some of the best luxury cars from America!
People dont buy them like they used to. Except for the Escalade kinda lol
Definitely one of my top cars that I'd like to have. Still possibly the best looking American cars in my lifetime.
I have an Air-raid intake on mine. I definitely hear the supercharger.
This is an excellent car and a true badass, I wish the values will come down more, they are a little pricey for me right now. I would love to have this car with the Corvette engine in the manual transmission, that is awesome Mundo.
Some of them are in the high $20k range now.
I love that you review both new and used cars
Temple of the dog playing on the "pop" channel.... Priceless!!
Crazy ive been watching your reviews for a long time, made me love the gti and the brz with your manual driving video
Thanks for the longtime support!
This is what all cars should be, V8, manual transmission
This car is such a classic. I remember being in University when this thing came out.
this vehicle ages well
Fun review! Thank you. I think you've reviewed both of my cars now, and I would agree they are so much fun to drive. I have a 2011 CTS-V sedan and a 2013 Audi S5 cabriolet prestige. Thanks for the videos. I'm not trying to brag, I'm just glad I got to see your impression on a couple of cars I own.
Thanks for letting Matt review ur cars
If you’re ever interested in driving a 6th gen manual ZL1 (running E85) let me know. I’m in the DC area. Love the reviews your doing of the wide variety of vehicles. 👍
Thanks for the offer Matt! I'll keep it in mind!
I hope he reviews ur car
Hi Matt. Nice vid. Liked before watching because I knew it was going to be good
The steering was light because you left it in the normal drive mode. In competitive mode the steering gets heavier, it's variable weight steering.
When we know things the reviewer doesn't because he only spent a day or two with the car lol. Definitely prefer the feel of comp mode.
I have a 2011 CTS-V sedan. So fun. The highways have been so open during SIP I may have got up to 120 this morning. Oops! Thank you for the video!
Ive been wanting a C6 Grand Sport or Z06 for my “retirement car” in a few years BUT now THIS coupe with the ZR1 motor, and 6 speed manual has blown me away ! Going to be fun when i test drive both and see which one fits my budget and which one i like better... I already have a 2013 Lexus ES 350 with now only 38k miles which is in excellent condition... so do i need a 4 seat corvette? Mmmmm decisions decisions
I own one of these but the sedan. These cars are amazing, even watching this video I get goosebumps and want to just go drive for the hell of it.
My best friend used to have the 4 door auto and we miss it so much 😩 they’re awesome awesome cars very reliable too
I miss these "classic" vehicle reviews on RUclips.
I miss em more
Temple of the Dog was playing on "POP" station.
Nice review. Love the second gen CTSV. Had a 2010 sedan with the 6 speed manual. Still miss it.
Def the best CTS V ever. Loved my 2013. Regretted trading it in for a Hellcat TBH
ctsv is definitely a little more luxury
The gen 2 V sedan/wagon/coupes are holding their values well (especially the wagons). As for the auto trans shifting slow, a transmission tune improves the shifting big time
Lol yes it does. I have a 3 to 4 shift acceleration on my channel and it's instantaneous.
calinator51 I need to get mine tuned soon. I hear Justin White is the go to person for this
in manual trans, their values are increasing
Yes, the LSA and the 6L90E respond extremely well to tuning, while remaining very reliable.
Even the base model of the cts coupe looks nice and different from other coupe's. Very rare car.
Always loved the look of the coupê....
drove one the other day, unbelievable ride, bad ass
still my dream car!
Definitely one worth being in a Garage or smaller car collection
Hellcats are around 4,450lbs (rear seat delete, manual transmission) to 4,600lbs (auto with backseats). Quite a bit heavier compared to the CTSV2 Sedan and Coupe at 4,200lbs. The Wagon was the heaviest at 4,400lbs though.
Those leather Recaros are fire
The back seats always will be tight in a coupe Matt lol. I’ve never heard someone say a coupe had room in the back seat lol.
I love my manual sedan. So much fun
I also thought they looked like the batmobile! Such a handsome car
12:45 - The fear and happiness in his eyes!
Backroad at 12:40
"For what it is" .. young Mr bastard couldn't make a model of one, let alone build a real cat. This thing is a stroke of perfection for American car art.
I really like the wagon version of this car, the back end looks amazing on the wagon
This would be the cts-v I'd buy
Their so affordable nowadays to ..cant beat this car power per dollar these are under 25k now
@@carlover2474 that's a good price but are they going to be in good shape
decent shape...great shape 29k-44k
Adjustable bolstering has been around a lot longer than 2011. I had back in the day a 1995 Mercury cougar XR7 that had adjustable bolstering.
Pretty sure the 90s C4 Corvettes had them too
@@pwnranger3496 yes it did!
@@pwnranger3496 The 1984 and up Corvette's had them.
Best CTS V ever made 😍😍
This and the ELR were both near perfect coupe designs.
European clear rearlights are awesome.
That's my boy Dakota's car. You go boi
Boooiiiii!! 😍
@@dakotalafrance3618 😂
Buying mine next month 🤤
So, did you get it?
At 18:30, did you forget to take off the e brake? I have a regular CT’s and that lights very familiar😁
It’s funny that the c7 vette adopted the key from this lol
This is a very thorough and good review there sissy boy.
Click Traction Control twice on steering wheel and it will go into Competition Mode. The steering tightens up nicely then.
It's 2024 and I think I'll rather choose this over the new CT5 Black Wing. This car is unique no matter if its old or lacks better luxury or technology.
Cold air intake. My supercharger whine is awesome.
There is a book called "The Intern's Handbook" about a professional assassin who's cover is as an intern at a law firm where one of the partners is his target. At one point, the assassin steals one of these to head out to a hit. He also mentioned the Batmobile look.
Matt I’m really liking the used car reviews! I never buy new ! It’s a loosing proposition. Why not wait until depreciation ? Still nice cars.
Scooby dooby RX Fan!
Sweet car
What a beautiful car
I love the coupe. 6 spd. Yes.
I wanted one of these, but it was a little too small, got a Chevy SS instead. Still kinda want one though.
Hows the SS? definitely a sleeper. Would never guess its running 500hp. They still price as new. Was looking at the ss and the cts. Went w the cts.
@@SubUrbanSF I love it, I'm never getting rid of it, ha
Doesn't the CTS-V sedan have the same interior space as the Chevy SS?
Love my V
Put the suspension to sport and put it in competition mode, steering is nice and stiff then.
You see how much these go for??? You cant beat this car power per dollar..560hp or something for under 28k..I'm pretty sure I've seen one for under 20
Wagon with the 6speed is Mercia
Manual, PERIOD!
Buying a black on black on black with chrome everything as soon as the kid grads engineering school,
I was thinking about a used Cadillac CTS coupe 2012 3.6 with 65k miles whats tour opinion on it ? Yes or no opinion to thoughts.
Matt, are you based in Maryland?
I wish they made a Cadillac ELR- V, with the Corvette engine. It looks even better than this car.
YES! I'm one of the few people who loves the ELR design. I've always wanted to see someone rip out the hybrid engine and LS swap it.
I think the key from this car is the same key Chevy uses with the C7 Corvette
Best part about the CTS-V Coupe... It gets the same gas mileage as the F350 Diesel Dually on the highway
Is that good or bad?
@@Ezero8 lol Tiny 2 door coupe getting the same gas mileage as a ridiculous quad cab diesel dually pickup on the highway on premium gas is terrible no matter how you dice it
@@ph00ny1 sure if it was a "tiny" economy car. It's a luxury coupe that weighs 4250 pounds with a supercharged V8. The corvette ZR1 only gets slightly better highway mileage (22 vs 18) because it's lighter and more aerodynamic. This is a performance car dude.
Can you do a review on 2006 cls55
Manual😍
Maryland!!
You nearby? Should come out to some car meets!
Reminds of the bat mobile for some reason nice car though!
