How To Make A Velocity Minecraft Server Network. This is a NEW Minecraft 1.20.2 server tutorial. In this video, I will be showing you how to make and setup a complete Velocity Minecraft Server Network! With a Minecraft Network, you can connect multiple servers together so players can switch between them, without having to disconnect from your server. All big Minecraft servers are doing exactly this! Velocity is the best, safest, and most optimized way to run a Network. I will also be showing how to connect servers to your newly created Network. And how to install some essential plugins to make your server better. Like LuckPerms, NPCs that can teleport your players between servers and a /lobby command so they can always return back to the hub server. It's very epic, fun, amazing and poggers! I would like to add one thing here. you can still run fabric and forge servers behind velocity. they support it and they have instructions on how to do it in the velocity docs.
Hey a little confused with the start, I made a fabric server with mods and it ran good following Velocity's own docs on it. Where did you see that it could only run paper servers?

Very helpful video. @KasaiSora One question, for the luckperms & database section at 18:12, while you were making changes to the config.yml for your lobby server, and applied the same changes to the other servers, did you touch the config.yml for the proxy server at all or you leave it as default, hosting this on MariaSQL.

Hi KasaiSora , I wanted to ask your advice about the Velocity proxy. As you explained in the video I also created a proxy server with Velocity in online=true and the actual server with Paper pointing to the Velocity proxy in online=false. Now, if I install the Simple Voice Chat plugin in the Paper plugin folder, it tells me "[voicechat] Running in offline mode - Voice chat encryption is not secure!" How do I solve the problem?

Totally fair point! Indeed it would be great if Velocity could support Bungee plugins. Or if more plugin devs would update for Velocity
@@KasaiSora There are already many plugins for Velocity, personally I have made more than 30, but none of them are published in Spigot but in Modrinth or Hangar(PaperMC plugin repository), it would have been interesting if you had commented that in the video

Note I have changed my dns records to * with an AAAA record (server supports only ipv6)
Can you please make a video and expain how to make lets say factions 1.8.8 server or 1.8 server at all on the same proxy(velocity) please.
You can’t 1.8 runs on java 16 and velocity needs java 17.
Only way to do it its if you are running your proxy on java 17 and then connect your 1.8 servers to the proxy
@@zantlos i am on java 17 but just i cant join with less than 1.13 client
The only problem is that if my network is on 1.20 and i try to make other server on 1.8but i cant connect to this server because the velocity isnt working with it. It cant be synced@@zantlos

What happened to FabitHost? Weren’t they the long time used Partner? Or is AlienHost just FabitHost but they changed the companys name
FabitHost was only a Partner for a few months. It was a bad Partnership and I never received anything in return for all the advertising I did. Which is why I made the switch to AlienHost
@@KasaiSora it was more meant as a joke. I too have some bad experience with them. I got myself servers for a network from them, but they crashed like every two seconds. It was probably a mistake on my side, like choosing not enough ram, but support didn’t help in any way, so it’s good to hear that alienhost has nothing to do with fabithost

Velocity Is Better, You can add forge support (1.12.2 sadly) and it can have a forwarding secret, (for safely so other people cannot use your proxy for they own stuff)

In theory, yes you coud make a local Network. Not recommended though

Depends, phoenix plugins don't support velocity but velocity is more stable and better overall
Fact! Velocity will always be my choice for stability and performace. Though Bungee does support more plugins

Connect a server to minehut? If you are using Minehut, you should not make a Network. I think that's against their ToS
well no. You have a normal server then you connect that server to minehut. i think it is called an external server.

i get this error lost connection: If you wish to use IP forwarding, please enable it in your BungeeCord config as well!, i transfered from a waterfall to a velocity server so i might have some settings enabled from last time, maybe

How To Get in the paper.yml
it's in /config/paper-global.yml
for now, it's not paper.yml anymore
How to go to new paper.yml:
go to config, then open paper-global.yml
and find:

how to find your velocity key, go to Velocity's main file manager, then find a file named forwarding.secret, and copy and paste the whole forwarding.secret and put it in the
