2de side looks indeed better. I think you put a lot of effort in it for a finish like that . Nice work and have fun !

    Love your videos man.
Are you using/changing your G187 smoothness setting before the bevel toolpath? If not try puting a G187 P3 E.005 before your finish surfacing toolpaths.

Just using p3, but I didn’t know there was an actual smoothing tolerance on top of it. That must explain code reduction I’ve seen the control do. Last night I tried steep and shallow using only contour passes. Tolerance set to .0001 and smoothing fit arcs with a max spacing of .0025”. That one bevel toolpath was 34mb in size. The controller knocked it down to 29mb. Also the mill handled it with no issues at 120ipm, which was a nice surprise.

@@split141x Try one with Fusion smoothing turned off. I can't speak to Haas, but Fanuc, Brother, Heidenhain... they all want dense piles of G01 moves so their motion algorithms can run a bit better. It'll be a big file, but this isn't 1982, so who cares?
Fusion's path algos are sometimes kinda mediocre, which gets a little better if you turn off smoothing.

I’ll give that a shot as well. I’ve definitely experimented with the range of cutting options.. I enjoy the challenge, but trying to squeeze that last 5% is starting to get to me haha. CBN might be in my future as well, at least to experiment.

Didn’t know that was a thing either. Thank you for the tip
