  • Let's get creative and design a large embroidered number applique with a name underneath! I see these all the time on facebook, and they are really easy to make and look so cute! Although the designs look complicated, they are easier than you think!
    In this video, I am using Hatch Embroidery 2 software, but I give you tips and directions on how you can accomplish the same design in ANY digitizing software. Remember that an applique design is always 3 steps: running stitch, tack down zig zag stitch and a covering satin stitch. Even if you don't have a cool shortcut button that does it all for you, you can do those 3 types of stitches in any software - they are the basic stitches. Pick a font that you will like - make sure it is large and wide enough for applique - make sure you can see enough of the fabric when stitched) and make it as large as you want and then TRACE the outline - or create an outline - and that is your placement stitch! delete the number and you are left with the beginning of a beautiful applique design created by you!
    Have fun with this design - I used coordinating fabric for my design and it looks fantastic! Have fun with fonts and colors as well as fabric.
    Remember, you can do this in ANY EMBROIDERY SOFTWARE. you do not have to have Hatch to create embroidery applique like this. You can do it!!

    Thank you!
    What about the underlay in satin stitch applique? Can it be skipped - there is a ziqzag tackdown?

    • @OMLembroidery
      @OMLembroidery  5 лет назад +1

      yes, you can skip the underlay if you like, but I generally leave it in because it can help to keep the threads and fringe from the cut fabric down even more.

      @inga-maritathoden7788 5 лет назад

      @@OMLembroidery Ok, I will leave the underlay there. Thank you!
