That was a real b*tch move by Aeris to pull your authorized dealer status because you gave an honest review. I was going to buy a Swopper until I saw this review and it wasn't because of your review it was because of the companies choice to shut you guys down for doing what more companies should try, honesty. Good work, Aeris you lost a customer do to YOUR actions.

The issue is, if a dealer is not able to tell the whole story. Putting comfort over health is not a wise advice

One major flaw in your review is that you said the chair doesn't allow you to maintain a healthy posture throughout the day, despite the fact that it is designed that way to strengthen your back. They purposely don't put a back rest because that promotes poor posture and is the reason why we are so weak in the first place. But the thing that most people don't mention about the swopper/muvman is that it keeps your knees below your hips which most other chairs don't allow. When your knees are in line with or even higher than your hips it becomes difficult to keep a straight back and you are more likely to curve your back.

I am using this chair since 10 years
    Brought to relive back pain
It strengthens back muscle and core
This is not designed as replacement for chair
It is middle ground between standing and sitting
You can work on this in front of table
It forces you to get up if you think this is flaw then it is designed for that

I've had this chair for around 8 years. It did improve my lower back pain. I do think the seat is a bit firm and wish I had the better version. The main thing I dislike how hard it is to remove the cover. I ended up needing to sew in a replacement zipper (they removed the part that zips it) and had to pull though a new string.

Couple of years ago I had the chance to try a Swopper at home for a week because the distributor sent it for testing before purchasing it. Very surprising move, not many company do this.
In the end I didn't buy it because it's too firm, my ass hurt after half an hour at max and I couldn't get used to it in a week. I really wanted to like it and to purchase it but in my eyes it wasn't good especially for the price.

The Swopper is definitely a niche chair. It won't be a good fit for everyone. It always helps to be able to try something like the Swopper before having to buy it. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Swopper! -RB

Hi BTOD-Team, i ordered this chair twice and it keeps making terrible noises whenever I go up and down on it. It's like a constant air pumping/handsaw sound, impossible to use it in an office environment. Can you confirm this is normal for the Swopper? You didn't mention that topic in the whole video, so I'm not sure if it's only me getting lemons.

I think this stool/chair works best for shorter and lighter people. And probably not meant for sitting 6-8 hours a day. But I like the movement and bounce. And side to side leaning. The seat, as said in the video, isn’t comfy.

it is quite possibly the worst thing I, deliberately, have EVER sat on other than a shard of glass, of course not deliberately.
I have TRIED to like this swopper. I really have. But it is simply NOT worth it. I'm 190lbs, well within the range you say should sit on it. There's a FATAL flaw in the design. The DOMED metal frame under the scarce padding is excruciating to sit on. Have YOU ever sat on a metal fence rail? Have you EVER sat on six metal fence rails converging upwards to the middle, with a place for a post in the middle? Because that's what this feels like. Sure, Swopper is "unique" because never in the history of furniture has a DOMED chair been foisted upon the public. You see, without getting vulgar, there are extremely important body areas throughout the nether regions of a human being, and no one would ever sit on something that PROJECTS DIRECTLY INTO THOSE AREAS, making them completely NUMB in five-to-ten minutes. I don't want to hear you're sorry I didn't like this. I can't return it. It's not pristine. And I now need a bigger box because it can't be disassembled. Seriously, have you tried sitting on it? Because right now I'd like to duct tape the "inventor" to it for just 15 minutes so his ass, and perineum, genitals, and lower abdomen go so numb he'd be screaming to get off of it. Maybe he'll get permanent nerve damage, realize the flaw, and redesign the damn thing. In the factory (or sweatshop) where it's made, make a few prototypes with the dome on the seat squashed inward, making the seat flat, like it should be. Then rethink the whole design. I mean, come on! Even bicycle seats are designed these days to relieve pressure on the perineal area and they have been made that way for over TWENTY years. It's been three weeks and two days of wanting to like this thing, but despite trying it low, high, soft, hard, in-between, rocking, swaying, "swooping" etc, the nearly immediate and afterwards persistent numbness and what feels to be nerve damage simply won't allow it.

Hey man. Any update on this chair for you? I mean it sounds like you were at your wits end with it, but thought I would ask given it has been a year since this comment. I am seriously considering this "chair" although I would be purchasing with the expectation of NOT sitting in it for a long periods of time (I have already ordered an Aeron chair for that). I figured the combination of this active stool with the Aeron would be a healthy combination for the home office. Even after watching the review, I felt confident the Swopper could work for me, but then I got to your comment and now I'm pretty concerned. The reviewer does mention for an additional cost there is the Swopper Air I believe he calls it. Have you personally tried that version? I look forward to hearing your updated feedback. Thank you!

What a worthless review, entire video is just a Sales Tactic, it’s no “honest review”. Every “downside” he quickly overcomes it by saying to upgrade/get a higher model of the same chair? The moment the video started with “Hi, I sell this chair at my store”, I knew it wasn’t going to be honest so just waited to see the catch and it was pretty obviously early on. Anyway, still good info, but if you’re looking for REAL problems, without any sales agenda behind it, there’s lots of other reviews that talk about the truth with this chair

Getting called out for addressing problems on a chair we sold is a new one. This video is why we no longer sell the chair. Aeris didn’t like that we were talking about the downsides of the chair and gave us an ultimatum to either pull the video or lose the line. We left the video and chose to stay honest with our reviews instead of taking it down. They pulled the line from us. -RB

@@btodtv thanks for replying, although I didn’t like this particular video (1st video of your channel I’ve seen), I started watching other videos you guys have and I do enjoy them, super informative, good crew and overall love the content.
This specific video just rubbed me the wrong way, but keep up the good work everywhere else. Your videos are a huge help as I find my perfect chair, thank you! I’ll probably delete my original comment later, it’s a bit negative

@@WhatDoINameMyChannel Your comment is a bit curt, but you do make a valid point. I quickly discounted the up-selling as soon as I read Aeris had pulled their product because the retailer refused to edit their review. To me, that demonstrated a lot of integrity from the retailer, therefore I had a more immediate sense of trust.
Thank you for looking further into the retailer's other reviews, and responding back with your honesty and where you were coming from with your initial comment. Good old-fashioned, healthy discourse; we need more of it, everywhere.
Also, Thank You @btodtv for allowing your integrity & honesty to overcome economics. Honestly, I am pretty shocked, and disappointed, a seemingly holistic lifestyle company would throw their image in the bin so flippantly. If anything, the feedback given by this review should have been taken as an opportunity to start planning the next version internally, especially since the comments are coming from a fellow peer in the office furnishings industry. They are a German company for Santa's sake! German engineering is all about "the pursuit of perfection." I am a loyal & consistent consumer of many German products such as Bosch, Wera, Steiner, Knipex, Zeiss, Wüsthof, and Jägermeister to name but a few, (the latter having the oldest, most revered reputation of German excellence IMHO haha). It is because of the reputation of these fellow German companies that I was so comfortably convinced this particular stool would be the best, well-made of its kind. That could very well be the case, but given the way they acted here, it's just freaking... sleazy... for lack of a better word.
