Hey Jamel. I have loved your reactions ever since I first discovered you. I am a senior guy in western Canada. In my opinion you are one of the nicest people I have ever seen, and probably the singular best person that I would want to share this secret with. I am just 9 years younger than Tom Jones. When Tom did that incredible performance of "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" he was 27 years old. I was 18. Did you know that Tom sung a new song less than a year ago at age 83? Link below. I would love to watch your reaction to it, since just today, I had my own reaction to it after seeing it for the first time. MIND BLOWING. The man is 83 years old. Still strong. Still built strong. How is that even possible? It's because he is from Wales. That's the only reason I can think of. As the man himself said one time in a moment of humility, "Everybody from Wales sings Like I do". I love you man. ruclips.net/video/_KhORNfgGJs/видео.html
its hard to find humbleness in someone whose talent level is top shelf, but ole Roy was one of the greatest! Thanks for bringing him back around. He deserves his place among music legends
Roy Clark was a great entertainer, humble man & super talented. He was both a singer & musician. His guitar & banjo playing are legendary. A lot of musicians & artists today could learn a lot from his style & technique. Glen Campbell & Jerry Reed were also underrated guitarists. But these men paved the way for a lot of musicians today.
Roy is the epitome of "Be A Good Human". That man gave so much of his money away... and he worked hard for it as well. Several times over the years I have tried to catch him at his managers office, (as I live close by), and never seemed to be able to catch him. Thanks to Roy and his money in supporting children causes, I was fortunate to work with someone who helped my eye issues no one seemed to be able to diagnose. My eyesight improved so dramatically I was able to go from a struggling C student to an A student and was able to attended college graduating with two degrees on the honor roll. I had deep gratitude for what he did for many unselfishly. Roy passed away without me ever meeting him. Rest in Power Roy..... you earned your wings.

While I have never been a country music fan, I have been a big fan of Roy Clark because he was the greatest banjo player who ever walked the face of the Earth! The guy is totally entertaining! And I do love Folsom prison blues!👍
Stand up comedy and incredible skill, that's Roy Clark. The parts about Luther, Luther was the lead guitarist in Johnny Cash's band. Roy and Johnny were friends. There are several videos of them doing songs together.
The great Luther Perkins, rest in peace. He said one of my favorite things about music I've ever heard in an interview once. The interviewer said that his solos were so beautifully simple, and ask him how he came up with that style. He responded, "A lot of pickers play a lot of notes searching for the right ones, and well... I guess I just found the right ones."
I still consider Roy the Best Guitarist to ever live… not only did he play the guitar, along with anything that had strings… NOT MANY PPL CAN DO THAT!!!!
Roy Clark was one of the greatest! He was funny, he had a wonderful singing force, but the best part....the way he would play the instruments (guitar, banjo, violin/fiddle). May this subscriber recommend Dueling Banjos with Buck Trent and, of course, Roy Clark. Thanks for reacting!
Roy Clark is a stringed instrument genius who played a plethora of instruments and was also a good comedian, but he was also a serious musician whose hit Yesterday When I Was Young is worth a listen. ✌️
I had never seen this before!! I really enjoyed it!! The thing I remember the most about Roy Clark was Hee Haw. He is a great banjo player as well!! Someone else you should check out is Jim Stafford. There is a live performance of him doing "Wildwood Weed" or "Classical Gas".
Roy Clark was one of the most incredible but underrated guitarists in history. Because he was a country artist, he never got the recognition he truly deserved. If you want to see how great he was... watch him perform, 'Malaguena.' Jamel did a reaction to it previously.
Roy Clark was multi talented and could play multiple instruments.. Funny.. Easy Goin.. Hee Haw showcased his humor.. many accolades, won many competitions and awards.. His life story is something to learn as well. One Heck of a Man!
Johnny Cash wrote Folsom Prison Blues in 1953, released in 1955 on Sun Records. Beyond a great guitar and other string instruments player Roy Clark was a comedian. That’s why he hosted HeeHaw tv show all those years. Thanks for your video and the memories it brought back to me❣️❣️❣️❣️

So glad you shared this with us! I used to watch him and Buck Owens on a variety show called, "Hee-Haw!" Roy was a virtuoso guitarist, and banjo player and I bet you didn't know it, he was a fiddle player too. He also played trombone, piano, trumpet, and drums! Truly a gifted musician, and I hope you do more of his songs. He was something else.

Great reaction, Jamal! Roy Clark was one of the best. My dad loved country music, and I remember as a child watching Roy every week on "Hee Haw". He was an amazingly talented musician.
He's a distant cousin of my grandfather and they played baseball back in the day as kids. I grew up hearing lots of stories about them and family reunions on that side of the family were never dull.

Jamel, nothing against greats like Jimi Hendrix or SRV,but Roy was in a class by himself when it came to playing a guitar.Imagine what he could do if he wanted to play rock or any other type of music. He was shredding before that term came about. His humor was also over the top.Check him out playing Dueling Banjos with Buck Trent, that one will show more of his talent,or watch him play something serious. He and Chet Atkins maybe the top two guitar players there were! Thanks for this one!
At the time of this performance, the Johnny Cash version was hugely popular. That allowed Clark to play with the song in his uniquely funny, virtuoso style in a way that would not have worked as well with an unknown song. Great reaction as usual!
I remember someone saying back in the 60's that Roy Clark could play anything with strings. He'd even make a gym shoe sound good. He was quite possibly one of the greatest guitarists of all time. A he played a mean fiddle, banjo, and cello too. If you want to see another good clip of Roy tickling the strings, look up Roy Clark, Odd Couple. And by the way, that was a Johnny Cash song.
