Captain White, your "Boat Tour' concept is really, really great. I would never have such a simple opportunity of seeing what is out there on the water unless someone like you gives such an unbiased tour. Thank you and keep em coming.
What a great way to introduce some of the different sailing vessels you encounter on your voyages! That cat looked small but comfortable. Look forward to seeing more of the same Bob.
Usually not a big fan of boat tour videos, but this one did it right. Very interesting boat. I think delving into the more technical and personal details is what makes it different. Thanks for sharing!
Would've been interesting to know the dimensions of this boat. Or did I miss it? Really like the simplicity of the Wharram cats. And they're very customizable.
Said before that this would be a great addition to the channel..and after viewing this can say it's better than I even thought! Plus starting with Wharram, have always been facinated by them just by word of mouth, made this a special treat. Look forward to more of these along the way!
Great boat tour Bobby - one of the better "look throughs" I've seen on the Wharrams. I also admired the Father and Son deal going on, great to see. Cheers, Stew (Wharram Tiki 38)
Great to see Koen and Richard, watched a little of the finish of this vessel in the Tsitsikamma forests of the Cape of SA. Great video, vessel and crew. Thank you.
Fantastic idear! There are so many different types of vessels out there and some unique ways that people set themselves up to sail. It's even more intriguing hearing about the cruisers themselves - where they came from, their sailing experience and why they do what they do.
Nice idea, the boat tour, I had absolutely no idea about a homebuilt that could be so nice. I wonder what the cost was compared to commercially manufactured. You should understand the Sailing Doodles adventure has opened a new world for many and added a window for those who dream about sailing the open seas with a beautiful lady on a beautiful boat. The boat tours is another way of seeing what is possible and this first installment with the "homebuilt" Wharram was perfect. Keep up the dream and the great work ... Thanks to the both of you ... Sam
7644440 I had bought plans from wharram to build this boat. Its a 63 footer. 4,000.00 usd then he claims 5,000 man hours to build the boat. I say bullshit more like 15,000 i costed out the meterials in hawaii it was 100,000 usd 15 years ago. Not including sails, electronics etc just to build. I built a giant tent to build. I had the plywood on site. Then i got tendonitis in my wrist and i could not do anything. My plan was to do what these guys are doing in fiji. Truth told these boats are really pieces of shit to cruise. They sail like crap.they are 200 year old designs. My friend had a 38 footer built by professional in thailand. Took 2 years for 5 man crew Cost him 120,000 usd it was very nice.for a wharram . Though It sailed like shit,he motored everywhere and he finally gave up after 8 years and spending another 40,000 on the boat over those 8 years. He got 30,000 usd after trying to sell it for 2 years they are always going to be plywood .he will never step on another boat again cause that boat killed his dreams. He used to say why did i buy this piece of shit. I should have bought a fiberglass boat. I sold my plans 6 years after i bought them for 1,800.00 to some poor guy. I warned him. I bought a monohull 14 years ago and have sailed over 100,000 miles in those years. Had i built the wharram i am sure i would be doing what these guys are doing. Stay in fiji. I might have just about completed the build by now too. People be aware, wharrams are not anything like youre average boat.
Great feature Bobby! As someone who is looking forward to buying my own boat (in 6 years) and doing research on boats, I think I'll really like the Boat Tour Tuesdays! Thanks for posting. Rick
Much better than a boat show tour. Shows what the boat and life is really like. Plus no salesman who says whatever they are selling that day is the best.
Hi Bobby & Laura....enjoy the explanations of the tasks involved in keeping the boat shipshape. The tours and the regular day to day activities are a treat to watch
Excellent video! I have been following "Luckyfish" on RUclips with a similar Wharram cat and have come to admire it a lot. Great videography, as always.
Stew on Luckyfish. Good stuff! Smaller than Doodles, but a fun watch. The Wharram is a kiss engineering design. ruclips.net/channel/UCkHpXYj4icqUOkQZqkelyPg
+J Harrison - Thanks for the shout out! I really enjoyed this boat tour from Bobby too! Great to see so many Wharram admirers commenting here. Cheers, Stew
Thanks Bobby that was fantastic. Thank you for sharing! It is great to see how people are doing it out there on the water. Looking forward to similar episodes. Cheers from New Zealand!
Beautiful yacht.....but more importantly what an awesome Father and Son...,!!!!!!!!! Cheers guys. Stay safe, hope to see you out there somewhere.....tks Bobby
Hey Bobby...that was very cool and informative. I've always wondered about these boats but nobody has ever explained it like that! THANKS! PEACE OUT! Ü
that's a beautiful Wharram. one day soon I will own my own. my plan is to be living in it in two years from now. I may come down and spend some time in your boat before then. thanks!
Really like the video Bobby. Would love to see more boats folks are using to cruise the world. Never heard of Wharram but have always been fascinated by the Polynesian designs. Like it.
The thing that attracts me to Wharrams, besides the simplicity of building, is the way it's lashed together, allowing that flex to occur. It may not be the stiffest and fastest cat out there, but if you're not worried about speed like me, this is a boat to seriously consider
Like the boat tour and meeting the crew. Interesting. Please include Laura in upcoming tours and interviews especially if you are meeting a cruising couple like yourselves.
Great job and very well done. I like the combination of the personal story plus the boat tour. I am really looking forward to seeing the trawler video as at my age I don't think I want to deal with sails.
The boat tour idea is good but even more interesting is the background stories of how people have began and then manage to make it a full time activity/adventure.
Nice video Doodles. I really like the Wharram design.I'm a DIYer. I like these kind of videos. I hope your pups are doing well in Dallas. We're in Grapevine, Tx. I'll Patronage in appreciation. Thanks for sharing. Cheers :-)
Thanks, for the nice tour of the Wharram. I follow a couple RUclips Wharram channels, my favorite is "Luckyfish Get's Away". I think sailboat tours conducted by you would be a great addition to your channel.
I liked the tour. I admit my ignorance because I had never heard of a boat like this. I think the shroud tensioner is quite a good system.. I wonder what the mast step looks like ? Touring novel and unique boats is great. In general, your content is interesting because it is so varied. Similar to Gone With Thew Wynns. Keep it up.
Bobby, I like your boat tours, especially of the James Wharram. Its been a while since you have done a tour for us. I dont believe that you mentioned the length? Guessing 42" ? A must see vlog for Wharram lovers on RUclips is "Lucky Fish Gets Away" Love to see more like this. Thanks!
Awesome thanks! We will be adding more boat tours as soon as we can but we are in Indonesia right now and there are very few other cruisers we can find to interview
That's the nicest Wharram I've ever seen. Really great layout as well.
Captain White, your "Boat Tour' concept is really, really great. I would never have such a simple opportunity of seeing what is out there on the water unless someone like you gives such an unbiased tour. Thank you and keep em coming.
Great! I’m glad everyone seems to like it.
Great to sea dad and son realising their dream together. Just fantastic . Thanks
One of the best Wharram's I've seen.👍
I like how he said that work is not worth the rest of your life. Exploring and travelling is just awesome!
I just retired and I like this a whole lot more than working.
what a privileged point of view
What a great way to introduce some of the different sailing vessels you encounter on your voyages! That cat looked small but comfortable. Look forward to seeing more of the same Bob.

Glad you enjoyed it... thanks!

Thats a Tiki 46 :)
For those of us that dream about doing what you are doing, the education we are getting is priceless
Said before that this would be a great addition to the channel..and after viewing this can say it's better than I even thought! Plus starting with Wharram, have always been facinated by them just by word of mouth, made this a special treat. Look forward to more of these along the way!
Hey thanks! Good to hear from a long time viewer!
Hey thanks! Good to hear from a long time viewer!
New to the channel but really like the boat tour addition. Seeing other boats and hearing other people's stories is great.
I agree the boat tour tuesday is a hit. There are so many boats out there and a tour of the different types is a great idea. Good Job
Definitely a good idea to share other cruisers stories. It adds to the total experience.
As an active, prospective sailing vessel purchaser THIS IS AWESOME!!!! Please, please continue this series.
Great! Was hoping this series would help with buyers!
Thank you.
Nice to see more “Saffers” out there. Fiji is stunning and I would love to cruise there some time with my cat.

This is a nice extra feature! We are enjoying all of your adventures! (Just rule fireworks totally out of any plans!) Best wishes and thanks!
Haha yes most definitely!
Great feature Bobby! As someone who is looking forward to buying my own boat (in 6 years) and doing research on boats, I think I'll really like the Boat Tour Tuesdays! Thanks for posting.
Rick

Great boat tour! Especially liked the history of how the boat was built and the guys that did it. Doing it their way is really cool. More please sir.
Much better than a boat show tour. Shows what the boat and life is really like. Plus no salesman who says whatever they are selling that day is the best.

"Keep it simple, stupid" a good engineering principal.
+J Harrison - Thanks for the shout out! I really enjoyed this boat tour from Bobby too! Great to see so many Wharram admirers commenting here. Cheers, Stew
