America, as a country has a terrible culture when it comes to work life balance and a good home life. 2 weeks annual leave is a joke. In Europe 5 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays is standard.

It’s a double edged sword. The reason people come here is the sky’s the limit scope of achievement and the framework of success afforded here. All the major companies that power the world, literally all of tech aside from TikTok, are formed in the U.S… it’s a tough balance to strike. I do think we’d be better off for a go hard play hard model rather than a work till you die model. People like Elon hurt the U.S. in this regard. Working 100 hours a week isn’t a flex

Welcome to Scarsdale and Greenwich CT. Those poor rich kids are miserable. But it can be a goldmine for therapists. Get a nice office and never challenge the parents to change, and you could make a fortune letting the parents drop things and you raise them emotionally.

I know how much I was pressurised when I was a child. Study study study study study study study study thrashing me for failing in subjects. They didn't teach me the value of life and how to face it. Now at this pandemic era. I asked them one day and mother said no pandemic in her time. Love from kerala

Rich kids have all the advantages on their applications because they can afford all the extras. Try raising a valedictorian in rural America, who only did 2 activities because it was affordable while also working at the local nursing home. 4.8 GPA, National Merit Finalist, College classes since sophomore year and not a single Ivy League or Fancy school acceptance. I dont care about Rich kids anxiety when their families takeall the spots that bright, hardworking lower income kids never get. My kid was lucky to find a small, private college offering a full Merit Scholarship for 4 years.

The government needs to distribute funding from rich schools to lower income schools, lower income schools can’t fund themselves, and if the school fails the community suffers more than it already has

Children should be allowed to homeschool themselves.

There’s a very really counter balance to that though is you’re socially inept if not exposed to social situations at scale, there’s no way around it and the data is clear.
