Traditionalists makes these without the hole typically. But, Andhra folks however make these hole vadas for Laxmi festival etc.
For rasam powder we won't use udid dal and channa dal. Only toor dal need to add. Rasam should be spicy and thin. Udid and channa dal makes the rasam thick

Sir what you did today is very popular in Mysore and Bangalore hotels and we call it bonda soup... the vada is made round and rasam is made without rasam powder but with some sautéed onions... the bonda is dipped in soup and is savoured
Praise the lord Sirji Instead of taking risk on katori We can simply take Spatula (Palta) Wet it with water and put batter on it and simply dip spatula directly in oil It will go more smooth than katori Plz try
Yeah but the drawback is you will have to wait for it to cook/fry so that it leaves the spatula inside the oil & Its time consuming haven't tried the bowl one yet
This measurement is for 3 people. Take 1 cup of boiled rice, 1 cup of black urad dal, half cup toordal, 1 table spoon pepper corn, 1 teaspoon, jeera, 5 red chillies, 1 green chilly, 1 table spoon of thinky sliced coconut, asafoetida 1 liberal piece..soak rice for 4 hours...just before grinding rice soak dals fir 19 mnts..grind rice and toor dal seperately..rice coarsely..dal more coarsely...while grinding dals add asafoetida..pepper corn, jeera, greenchilly and a few keaves of curry leaves. once ground mix the batter well and set aside for atleast 1 hour so that the batter settles. add thinly chopped coconut before makind adai. Adai is made only by sesame oil which gives great aroma. If adai is made the above way, it will be crisp and very tasty. Sir, I request you to post 1 video to show your subscribers adai this way.
