When I was 5 years old, I built this LEGO version of Dachau, we had just taken a tour, and I had been reading the English parts of this catalog of events that took place from 1933-1945 my parents got at the museum (which I still have btw) , and these yellow/red/blue plastic ABC blocks that opened like clams, each containing a tiny figurine. like the "A" block had a picture of an Airplane on it, and inside was a little airplane made out of that green army man plastic. Then I had all the LEGO men, then have all my Lego men round up all the figurines from the ABC blocks that needed to die. The Airplane was used by the LEGO in their War efforts, B was a little baseball bat I think, like a Monopoly game piece, that was thrown in the pile of personal belongings. C was a cat, the cat lived of course, I like cats, the cat had free reign over the whole camp, probably even had a paw in running things. D was dog, dog was killed. Elephant was killed, Fox was killed, Goat was killed, Hat trash pile, the igloo was disregarded, can't remember wtf J was, Kangaroo died, L? Man killed, N? Octopus died, whatever P was it probably died, Q? Rabbit died, Snake died, T? U? Violin was part of the marching band that was forced to play during the executions, just like from the picture the book, it was all stuff that book, I even knew the layout of the camp, I tried to build it to scale, whale was killed, Xylophone was in the band, Y?, and Zebra died. Parents didn't let me watch much TV. I also had a picture Bible, I built a LEGO version of Revelations.

A lot of people forget how fucked Lego was in the early 00s. These days they have licenses with basically every IP ever but they were very very close to bankruptcy back then. Lego has us 20 something Bionicle dweebs to thank for keeping the business alive
Lego is still making buildable action figures. I would guess there's about 6 or 7 scales of Lego figures. He didn't mention Fabuland Lego either, which were another odd series that Lego made for about 10 years.
@@captcrouton Lego still making buildable figures is debatable. They still do brick built mechs all the time, but we haven't had a CCBS release in a very very long time. Also the reason I though Bionicle should've been brought up isn't because it ran for a while, but rather because Lego was on the brink of bankruptcy, and a huge part of the reason they didn't go under was the wild success of Bionicle.
